My old boyfriend and I would ride up on the motorcycle here! It’s a cool spot for bikers! In the summer time it’s really great because they the restaurant open. I do remember live bands playing there. My ex didn’t believe that the food was great, he liked the atmosphere more. I loved it both! The food was delicious! Although there wasn’t a huge portion that you received, but I thought it was a cool experience every single time! One time a waitress told me the manager asked if I wanted to join in the Bikini Contest that weekend, so they have them, too! If you have a bike, definitely check it out!

Food is good, prices are great. Staff are friendly and helpful. Haters gonna hate, but this place is worth a stop

LOVE it here! I’ve been a customer for years and eat here every week. I enjoy the California chicken salad, the veggie pita, wings; I’ve never had a bad meal. The staff is friendly too. Despite recent community differences, this restaurant remains one of my favorites. Remember reviewers, that there are two sides to every story.

I came here the other day with a friend and I have to say this was by far some of the worst barbeque I have ever had. For one I have never been to place that considers itself a «barbeque pit» that didn’t offer a selection of bbq sauces to add to your food. The food itself looked like the kind of barbeque you scoop from a can and serve for middle school lunches, served on Styrofoam plates. Wings were just awful. Honestly, go down the road and eat at Mission BBQ instead. At least there you can get a BBQ sauce selection, decent pulled pork, and Mac and cheese. You know actual BBQ food, not a place that confused itself with cheap a Greek diner and wannabe bbq.

Great food as always. Great service. Our waitress was Danielle. She was wonderful. She went over and above the average server and accommodated my hubby’s gluten-free needs in a place that doesn’t have a gluten-free menu. I read the negative posts after the woman was killed in the parking lot. It was a sad and unfortunate incident. But not within the owner’s ability to foresee or to stop. Don’t let one tragic accident keep you from eating at this spot. The owners are good people And they run a quality business.

Considering all the bad press they gave my wife attitude because she didn’t know the drive through takeout protocol as she never picked up the order before… Instead of nicely saying«welcome to the bbq pit, it would be great if you stopped at the order speaker to give us a heads up» Instead they made her wait at the take out window for a few minutes while they chatted and said«what are you doing here?» Inside this place is unsafe… It was so before the«accidental» death that recently occurred… I only go through the drive through because of the horrible environment, but I will never go back… Which is a shame

I have been here many times, and will keep coming back. The Pit has an extensive menu. Burgers, sandwiches, Steaks, chops, Greek Specialties, all day breakfast, and salads are all outstanding. The wings are also excellent — try the original hot and sweet sauce. Portions are large, and very reasonably priced — you can feed the family here for less than any fast food dreck. Great happy hour specials — the daily beer special is frequently cheaper than a soda. Very informal atmosphere, with plenty of TVs to catch the game. The only reason I can’t give five stars, is that their Barbecue is average at best. The Barbecue Chicken is actually grilled but its not bad. The pulled pork is meh — the meat does not taste smoked at all, and the sauce is nothing special(Open Pit?). The ribs are not smoked either. Not bad, but if you have had real barbecue before, you will know that this is not the real deal. If you go there thinking neighborhood grill or greek diner, you will not be disappointed. If you are thinking true pit bbq, you might be.

This place is an ok dive bar/restaurant if you are looking for a quick bite or drink. The service is ok and the food is average, need to cover it in BBQ sauce if ya really want it to be good.

Amazing menu! So much to choose from and anything I’ve ever tried just melts in my mouth! Highly recommend this place for a nice dinner, party/event, just to stop for a drink or lunch they have it all! The employees are very nice and aim to please! They have different drink specials every day and great prices !

I always order the cheeseburger wrap, which is usually pretty good. The last two times I went there; however, there was a hair in it. One time and I am disgusted but try to forgive. Twice and I will never return. Unacceptable.

Went because they are close to mu house, would have been better off going someplace else. Looks good from the outside but lousy wait staff and even worse food. They do not do BBQ well. the owner originally owned a diner and that food was also poor. I guess at least you can say he is consistant.

We really enjoyed the outdoor seating– but mostly because of the fantastic weather we had. The service was friendly and fast which was also great! The downside here is the food. It is mediocre at best. My husband got onion rings and a burger w a baked potato. The onion rings and burger were good but nothing to write home about. The baked potato was very dry. I tried the pulled pork with pasta salad. For somewhere called the BBQ pit I expected that they would smoke their own pork and make their own BBQ sauce. It was not very flavorful, definitely not smoked pork, and Sweet Baby Rays makes a ether BBQ sauce. This sauce was very sweet, no tang or spice to it at all which is how I personally like my BBQ. The pasta salad was not something I would order again. It was pasta, kidney beans, onions, and flavorless.

Let me start this off by saying this place has the best curb appeal I’ve ever encountered. Seriously. It looks so legit from the outside. Do not be fooled. Pros : — I left full for $ 12.99 — Service was speedy and friendly — Plenty of TVs to watch the game on — Patio seating is cool Cons: — Not authentic bbq at all — Meat was not smoked, I’m pretty sure this place doesn’t even have a charcoal/wood grill — This place uses one flavor of runny, tasteless, sugary bottled bbq sauce, they don’t make their own! — Side dishes tasted premade. Think Bush’s baked beans, KFC coleslaw — The ribs and chicken were overly bland, the meat was dry and tasted days old. Nothing really seemed fresh. — Temperature of the food was not hot at all. — The décor inside is tacky and very un BBQ-like. — It was 100 degrees outside and only 90 in the restaurant, we went outside for the breeze. — To the reviewer who said this place is like a bbq joint in the south, I live in the south, and have eaten in every state in the south and can safely say that it’s not. Obviously I wasn’t expecting Memphis BBQ in rural PA, but I expected better than cafeteria food.

Just wow. Being the foodie that we are, my boyfriend and I are always trying to find hidden gems in the Reading area. This place was awesome. It reminded me of a place you could only find in the south! The food was good, and the prices were great! Don’t expect anything fancy though. Paper placemats, and plastic«silverware», just how a BBQ place should be. They have a full bar, with domestic and an ever changing list of craft beers. You can also buy beer to go. There is a decent sized outside deck with ceiling fans blowing when it gets warm. The food came out quickly, we got hot boneless buffalo chicken bites for appetizer, I had ½ a chicken with 2 sides, and my boyfriend had their angus burger. The food was great… The chicken was fall off the bone yummy. And for that much food for that price? Wow. ½ a chicken with 2 sides was only 7.25…Our bill came out to only 30 $ and included our three beers. Our waitress and the food runners were very nice and came to check on us in a timely manner. I would definitely go back!

I have been driving past this place every week for about 2 years going to work and always wanted to try it out. With a souvlaki platter special on the sign for the drive-thru I decided to give it a try. That’s right a drive-thru at a dinner! How convenient. Ordered the platter and took it home for dinner. It was very tasty. The pork was tender and seasoned well. Next time I will ask for the tzatziki sauce on the side(they put a little too much on). I did not care for the coleslaw but all in all everything else was good. Would like to come back and sit down inside for a proper dinner.
