It is always a pleasure to dine Here. Both the service and the food is outstanding. I was able to spend New Year’s eve with dear friends Who had never experienced Rosalie’s. They were a awed. We started by sharing a wonderful salad and an anti-pasta plate which contained delicious meats and cheeses. The bread served with olive oil is outstanding and you can buy at the bakery in the back of the building if you are early enough. For a main course I had shrimp with orzo and vegetables that was absolutely perfection. Having dined to hear from years, I have never been disappointed. Come over and try to keep room for dessert.

The good: Basically friendly but not impeccable table service, decent wines, salads were good, decent deserts, overly large portions. Tasty bread and dips. The bad: Maitre d was clueless about our reservation even though it was not busy and was short with us. Even though it was not busy we were rushed through our salads, tried to clear the table when forks were raised over half full dishes. The incredibly bad: The entres. Every bit of our pasta was overcooked to very overcooked. Sauces were all wrong, the Veal Marsala was basically raw wine sweetness — truly bizarre given the high degree of doneness of the veal. My dish, «Farfalle con Pollo» was utterly terrible. This dish could have been so decent. Instead — overcooked slop. Dry and overdone chicken, mush pasta, peas so cooked I thought they were from a can, pancetta that was rubbery and devoid of any crispiness and a gloppy sauce that despite its abundant cheesy heaviness had no redeeming value. Plating was a carelessly tossed and inartistic ‘plop’. And for all that overcooking, the food was not served very hot. Any home cook of modest skill could do better. Olive Garden does cheese sauce better. Insanity. If you want to spend a whole bunch and wish you ate at a chain restaurant, go to Rosalie’s Cucina. If you remember this restaurant fondly from its prime like 15 years ago, that is not what you will experience now.

This restaurant was chosen for a milestone birthday celebration on the advice of friends. They did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived we were treated with the utmost friendliness. From the dipping oil and bread, the salad and entre and yes, dessert, it was one taste sensation after another. The staff was attentive and the experience left us planning another getogether soon.

I love this place! Great atmosphere. Cozy and quaint. The food is outstanding. Everything is homemade and you can tell. I was blown away with this place. It’s definitely not the cheapest option but excellent for a casual indulgence or a special occasion.

I went here for my moms birthday dinner and was really happy with the food and the experience. We started off with a round of drinks and then the waiter brought us Fresh bread to dip in the oil. He bread was amazing and worth the trip for just that. We then all ordered salads and our entrees. I had the Caesar salad and the scampi. Both were really good. I couldn’t finish my meal but was happy to have some left overs to take home. This is definitely a place I would make the trip to again.

We enjoyed our evening at this restaurant! The atmosphere was friendly and buzzing almost too noisy to hear. The appetizers and first courses were great. There were so many enticing things on the menu to try that we couldn’t get beyond these. Next time we will try an entrée or main course! We split a manicotti and then I had the polenta with asparagus. I also had the salad special and that was excellent. My husband had the shrimp special and also the salad from the regular menu which he enjoyed too. A perfect evening and all the more because of the excellent service from our waiter«Michael».

Always heard what an incredible restaurant Rosalie’s was so I called on a Friday to see if I could get a reservation for four people on Saturday night. They told me there was a 5:30pm and a 6:45pm available so I jumped on the 6:45pm. When we arrived there was significant confusion as to the reservation and after several back and forths they found it at 7:45pm instead of 6:45pm. I expressed that I was positive about the time and they said that we could get a drink, have a seat on the patio and they would make every effort to get us in as soon as possible. True to their word, we only waiting about 20 minutes and they sat us. The restaurant is relatively small with signatures of hundreds of guests on the wall and a ‘vocalist’ walking about with a mandolin singing Italian songs. The room is very loud and it is difficult to have a reasonable conversation with your party. I had ordered the Caprese salad to begin and the fish special. The Caprese salad never came, and when reminded, they got it immediately and didn’t charge for it. The fish special was OK. The fish was just so-so, but the orzo and artichokes were very good. Overall, the restaurant was good, but very expensive for the quality presented both in food and service.

Long wait, but very good. I love going here and feel like it is a special treat every single time. The portions are rather large, but that is not a complaint — just a comment.

De-li-cious!!! I love Italian food and this place reminds me on my trip to Italy a few years ago! There is nothing on the menu that does not taste fantastic! Go, try lots of things… you will not be sorry. Not your run of the mill Italian pizza spot. For gosh sake, people staying at Mirbeau eat there instead!!!

Beautiful spot with excellent food. A bit pricey depending on what your intention is. Enjoyed the offered«Tuscan Menu» for $ 28 which included appetizer, entrée and dessert. Service was great, mood relaxed and the fireplace was a welcome treat.

I hate to repeat myself, but seeing the comments of the other reviewers I feel I must. Don’t go out to dinner to save money. Ugh. Stay home. Our check for our party of three was $ 178 with 20% tip and included a bottle of wine, one specialty coffee and a dessert. Ok on to the important stuff. Service from the moment we walked in until they bid us farewell was impeccable. Marty as our server was gracious and intuitive. He took our order off the menu readily without hesitation or a hint of being inconvienaced.(We did not order something printed on the menu, we kind of combined a special with a starter for an entrée) Salmon perfectly cooked, polenta firm and well seasoned. The beet salad was brilliant to start. The food was excellent, service was excellent and the atmosphere was great. A little Italian man joined us for a song during our meal. It was lighthearted and fun. Great place on a beautiful lake. A worthy dining experience.

My wife and I went to Rosalie’s for dinner while in town for the weekend. I cannot tell you how much we enjoyed our meal. Growing up in New York City, I have been to some of the world’s most famous and popular restaurants and Rosalie’s food is right up there. Italian food is by far my favorite type food and this place does it well! I can confidently say that it was soundly one of the best 10 meals I have had in my life and one of the best 3 I have had since moving to Rochester in 2001! My wife and started with the antipasto and it was great. We then moved onto the salads where my wife ordered the basic greens salad and I got the caprese. My caprese salad was amazing. The mozzarella was like silk and the tomatoes perfectly sweet to compliment the acidity of the balsamic. Truth be told, between their AMAZING house made bread, that is brought fresh and hot, and the antipasto/salad we could’ve stopped there and still had a great meal. However, luckily for us it didn’t. My wife ordered the braciole which was out of this world. We ended our meal with one of the 3 best desserts I have ever had, the banana budino. If you like bananas then this is the dish for you. The banana flavor was truly explosive! All in all, this was just an amazing experience. The food was outstanding ad the service impeccable. If I could’ve given it 10 stars I would’ve. It’s a must if you love within 2 hours of it and worth the drive from even further.

The décor mimics inner-city graffiti. A very loud singer proudly displays his lack of talent going table to table. For the first few years this restaurant used to serve excellent exquisite food. I don’t know what happened but my last meal there was no better than a can of SpaghettiOs. I gave the restaurant one more chance after that and nothing improved. This used to be a four a half star restaurant. I don’t know why The quality of this place just plummeted.

Rosalie’s is a wonderful restaurant with fantastic service. I have been here many times and my favorites include the misto salad, margarita pizza and the seafood fra diavolo. They have their own bakery and make delicious bread and sweets as well. Definitely a must try experience

Wow, great restaurant and friendly service. The entrees were original and unique. I had the Pollo Alla Griglia amd it was fantastic! I recommend you give this a try, we sat at the bar and didn’t have a reservation. From the moment we walked in we were treated like the only customers in the restaurant!

Grew up in the FLX and man I wish this place was here back then. I have tried to get to Rosalie’s the last few times I have been home and didn’t have any luck. It was us usually during the holidays and they were all booked. Place was packed and service was ok, server had to be reminded several times to get bread and refill drinks. Had the Rigatoni with beef and veal, was very good and the portions were huge. Sauce was great, had plenty of leftovers. Will be going back next time I am in the Finger Lakes

I really like Rosalie’s, maybe some people find the signatures on the wall tacky, and maybe I’m tacky, but I like it. The food is always solid, prices might be a bit high for the area, but $ 20 – 30 for an entrée, and $ 6 – 8 a glass for wine really is pretty reasonable I think. Also, the bread is fantastic(you can pick up loaves from the bakery in the back of the building). I highly recommend this restaurant to people visiting town, as it’s one of 3 higher dining experiences in town(the other two being the Sherwood, which is typical tavern americana, and Mirbeau which is French).

Wow, at these prices? The service was atrocious. I called ahead and asked if they would accommodate a special request and they said, «no.» We only serve from the menu. Once arrived, the bread was good and served warm but left on the table. No knife was provided to slice. we had to ask repeatedly for additional dipping spices. We asked that a salad be served on 2 plates with the blue cheese on the side and it came out on 1 plate. server did not bring a second plate. The Manicotti appetizer was cold. Our water glasses were not kept full. I ordered the Ribeye with mushroom chips. Those weren’t mushroom chips, just sauteed mushrooms. I asked the server for the chips and he didn’t know what they were. The balsamic fig reduction was tasty, fortunately, because the mushrooms themselves were bland. If I hadn’t been with a group, I would have sent it back. False advertising. The mashed potatoes? Nothing special there. After dinner, we ordered tea. So individual pots of hot water were brought but then it took several minutes for the tea selection to arrive. Need I say that by the time the tea selection arrived the water had chilled. I ordered coffee. I had to flag down the server twice for refills. Never even bothered to check on us. Never offered to refresh the tea water. Got the feeling that she purposefully ignored our table. Desserts were excellent. Whomever the pastry chef is, wow, delicious. W sampled several. The chocolate torts, the banana puff and the tiramisu. All wonderful. To finish off, a clatter caught my attention. A server had dropped one of the cheese graters on the floor. She just picked it up and put it back on the table. Also, felt pushed out at the end. We were getting the stare that indicated we needed to vacate our table. There are several restaurants in this price range in the region with much better service and better food. Highly recommend you try one of those and give Rosalie’s Cucina a pass. My favorite is Gentiles in Syracuse. Kevin is ALWAYS happy to cater to your special requests. The Brewster Inn in Cazenovia also offers.

This place has gone downhill since I was last there a couple years ago. I went there last night with some coworkers. The food was okay(not worth its price by any means), the wine list is pretty good but the service was really bad. We ordered a bottle of wine… 20 minutes later the waiter came back to say that they were out of that. So we ordered another one at his recommendation(he was very knowledgeable) and it took another 20 minutes for it to come out. Once it did, he was back at our table every 4 – 5 minutes to top off our glass. Once our main course came out, he disappeared. We got there at 6:30 and I had to leave at 8:30P for another meeting but dessert hadn’t come out yet. Go there if you have plenty of time and no other options because you’re stuck in SKF.
