Our quick get-a-way to celebrate our 16 wedding anniversary brought out to this spa and inn! Cleanliness makes me anxious, but our room, bath and linens were immaculate. The spa was excellent, the outdoor bar attendants were great too. Dinner, service and special perks the staff added to our stay make this one night stay into our new tradition! Thank you.

I have been going to Mirbeau for over ten years. This time I booked a Sunday hoping it would be a little more quiet than a Saturday but it was packed. As for the«foot soaking» room I find it very distracting that people who are using the jacuzzi constantly come and in out of the room that people are relaxing in/dozing off in. It was so packed to barely have a seat available in the lounge area. I had the mud wrap and that was wonderful, I highly recommend that. The only other thing that would be nice is if they had an area where people can eat and have a snack rather than going into a dining room where everyone is eating.

Gorgeous setting, calm and rejuvenating rooms, superb service. Mirbeau is a surprise! Skaneatles is a delightful village, in a beautiful lake, adding to Mirbeau’s appeal. We will definitely visit again.

My wife and I get to the Mirbeau spa later in the evening of her birthday weekend after taking a tour around Seneca lake for a wine tour. We had a driving service to get us around which is essential. After spending a bit in the hot tub I try out the steam room. Well, the drain/metal on the floor attacks me with hot metal and steam! OUCH! The manager, Jose(hos-ay), thinks I’m fine, but then later agrees to take me to the Auburn ED. Given that I ordered a glass of wine, I’m not about to drive. 2nd degree Burns! Pain! Waves of pain and burning! I am medicated, given salve, wrapped, and told to call a cab given that my wife and I are not about to drive after being at wineries that day. One cab service in the whole area… 25 minutes to come pick me up. This lady picks me up, demands payment up front, and then proceeds to stop at her house to pick up cigarettes before taking us back to Mirbeau, where we were staying for the night. Let me say that again. She picked up a patient from the ED, demanded upfront payment, and stopped at her place for smokes. AREYOUKIDDINGME??? So, I talk to Jose the next day. I want to make sure his name is out there, because he should not be a manager. He took me to the ED, dropped me off, and went back to the spa. Must have been busy at 8 pm on Saturday night… The next day he tells me that he thinks I’ll be fine and that my foot didn’t look too bad to him last night. Then proceeds to charge me the rest of the tab for the room and wishes me well. I ask him what he’s going to do about the burn, the fact that this is not relaxing, and the hospital. He tells he that he filled out an incident report and will give it to his GM the next day. Nice, not happy Jose. Light at the end of the tunnel = General Manager Richard Malcolm. I spoke to him the next day and he relayed that they would take care of the medical costs and send my wife and I some sort of gift card to go back to Mirbeau so we have the experience we were looking for the first time, as this did not turn out to be the relaxing birthday weekend she needed. Well Mr Malcolm, that’s a good start at least, certainly better than the degrading and mitigating job that Jose did. I write this to share my experience and provide examples of customer service, bad and better, so that other companies can try and practice the latter, because whatever type of service you provide, that information will be shared with many, many, people. Thanks for the platform. On a side note, the employees of the establishment, therapists and wait staff was very concerned for my well being and they were very comforting. Management could learn something there.

I have always wanted to go to Mirbeau so when my Mom and I received a spa day for our birthday’s we were ecstatic! The spa did not disappoint. It was so picturesque and relaxing. We had a massage and lunch in our robes. It was like a winter wonderland and just a very unique experience. It is definitely pricey so not something you can splurge on but once a year. My only complaint is the size of the locker rooms and the lockers themselves. Very small!

We had dinner recently at the Mirbeau and it was ordinary. While the service was very good, the food was not equal to the price and advertised status of the facility. We would not go back.

Even better then ever! Anything slightly less then positive has disappeared. Better yet I ate at the wine bar with great light meals. Nice warm HOT chocolate right near the door as I walk toward my ‘South France’ type cottage.

This is one of the top 10 places that I’ve ever stayed! Absolutely beautiful — feels like you’re in a Monet painting. The room was well appointed and the very comfortable. Planning on buying the mattress for my home. The breakfast was wonderful. Nice walk to a cute little town with shops and restaurants.

My day spent at Mirbeau was one of the best experiences of my life. I have never been so relaxed. My friend and I got there mid-morning for a facial. After that, we relaxed in the sauna and hot tub. Any treatment at the spa gives you a full day pass to all of the facilities. The outdoor hot tub is absolutely beautiful! It is perfect-temperature water falling over a waterfall of rocks. We got to experience the snow falling on us while we were in the hot tub. It was a very cool & unique experience. I also got a one-hour massage. It was heaven. The staff at Mirbeau are very skilled. The waiting room is actually the most relaxing room. It is beautifully decorated with a calm atmosphere. There is a fireplace in front of comfortable chairs for you to rest. The only sound you hear is the fountain. I could have spent my full day laying in the waiting room. At the end of the day, we went up to the restaurant for a delicious salad. I would recommend any of the food at the restaurant. I will certainly visit Mirbeau again.

I visited Mirbeau 3 – 4 times in the past and was surprised on January 24 how different my experience was. In the past I was left with the impression of total relaxation and the luxury of beautiful surroundings. This most recent visit was markedly different. It was very crowded and the other clients did not feel compelled to embrace the quiet soothing environment. There was a lot of talking and a lot of buzz. There is a fitness membership now, so the locker rooms are used by folks just there to work out as well as those there to immerse themselves in relaxation. My massage by Phil, was adequate. I felt he was very much doing his job and keeping on schedule, which I can’t blame him as it was sooo crowded! I mentioned the crowded environment at check out and was told that is a typical weekend day. I had lunch prior to my treatment and was made aware of «the package» for $ 40 adding the 3 course lunch to my spa service would«be a better deal». This was NOTWORTHITATALL!!! I ordered the daily fish special which was about the size of a mozzarella stick(small, no more than 2 oz.) which came together on one long skinny dish with the 1st course, of which I’d chosen a salad. I’d gone for the 3 course package because I wanted to match what others at the table were ordering and was pretty hungry anyway, but it was not worth it at all. I made the waitress aware I wasn’t satisfied and she did bring me more salad. The chocolate cake dessert was good, not great. «Meh» is a good description of how I felt when I left Mirbeau… I spent $ 200. I absolutely will NOT do that again.

Very pleasant place! Picturesque and perfect for weddings! I went to the bar and then hot tub for some spiritual growth! Ha. Nice to spend the time for a couple of hours. Staying across the street at the lodge.

Nice spa but very presumptuous when an 18% gratuity is automatically added to the bill after your treatment. The tip is up to the discretion of the customer; not the establishment. I have been to a number of spas and worked in some high class ones and have never had this happen. Also the massage was cut short because they were on such a time schedule and I had to use the restroom prior to. Therapists need to keep in mind they are not the only ones watching the clock. These two factors really disappointed me and had a negative effect on my experience. Probably won’t go back for this reason.

The steam room was broken upon arrival. They claimed it would be fixed but not until after our reservation was up. Seeing as that was half of the amenities, and I drove here from out of state, I asked for some sort of compensation. The manager I spoke with was rather rude. I was polite when I questioned her, she responded with attitude asking first if I was local, then when I said no, she said oh well there was nothing they could do. Normally I would of left it at that. I was rather upset though, this place isn’t cheap and the staff weren’t sincere about the inconvenience at all. In the end I spoke to a second manager who gave us champagne and strawberries. Over all I wouldn’t recommend after the service I received at such an expensive spa.

This is only a restaurant review, not the spa or Inn. The ambience of the whole place sets you up for expectations which are not disappointing. Lovely dining room with a view of a garden based on Giverny.(Monet’s garden) Comprehensive bar and wine list. The meal was magnificent and classy. We had a beautiful little Amuse-Bouch of a creamy squash soup before a delicate and subtle Crab Gallette. Then a refreshing soupçon of Sorbet as a palate cleanser. Followed by a very different interpretation of Steak au Poivre. Instead of the usual light creamy sauce with peppercorns, it was more like a thick dark rich gravy and absolutely delicious. My wife also has steak cooked in a different manner that was equally good. Fresh, crunchy, perfectly cooked vegetables, not the overcooked mush that appears so often. Another touch of Sorbet and then a wonderful Lemon Panna Cotta followed by some Macaroons sent out by the chef, Darry(l) who graciously came out for a chat. Very knowledgable and with some fine ideas about the upcoming seasonal Autumn menu. Service was friendly, prompt and discreet and I will definitely be returning. Not cheap but well worth the expense. I recommend this highly as a perfect venue for special occasions but Iwouldn’t wait for one!!!

A great place to enjoy a healthy, delicious meal. The dining room was a nice, relaxing setting with a beautiful view. The service was quick and very friendly. I enjoyed the filet mignon with the crispy fingerling potatoes and crème brûlée for dessert. It was the most delicious meal I’ve eaten in Syracuse in a long time.

The Mirbeau is honestly better than I expected… The grounds are spectacularly maintained. You will honestly feel like you are in the south of France! The spa was peaceful & soothing. They carry Caudalie products which I ADORE. You can lounge in the whirlpool and have lunch and drink wine there! Service was excellent in the spa and in the restaurant. Now to the just ok parts… Food was ok. Front desk was able to accomodate us early, but the room could really do with a bit of a spruce-up and a coat of paint. We had no turn-down service. If you find yourself up in the Finger Lakes region of upstate NY, this is probably the best place to stay. The town of Skaneateles is sleepy and cute, and the lake is really just gorgeous.

We’d been looking forward to a romantic weekend getaway for months, if not years. Mirbeau was recommended by a friend of my mother-in-law as the place that would be scenic, great spa, and only a few hours from Albion and Rochester. THEINN: We checked in around 4:30 on a Sunday. We were greeted warmly at the desk, offered help with our bags, and had all our details confirmed. We were shown to our room so that we could be given a mini-tour along the way, stopping briefly at the hot chocolate station in the lobby. Our room was quite nice with claw-foot tub and shower, fireplace, and pillow top mattress with assorted pillows. There was a Bose radio playing relaxing music as you look out through the plate windows on to the pond that is meant to remind you of Monet’s Giverny. The complimentary toiletries were nice, though the rosemary scent was so strong that it seemed slightly medicinal. THESPA: We enjoyed the spa, particularly the outdoor hot tub and fireplace on several occasions. The hot tub had remotes to control the lights and jets, but no one could figure out how to get them to work. Inside was the quite spa area where you waited for treatments with a heated stone, fireplace, and lounge chairs. The also had steam and dry saunas, but I didn’t get a chance to use them. We did do a yoga class, which was quite interesting since we were the only attendees who weren’t from the local area. The couples massage was excellent. The staff recommended places in town where we could get swimsuits and grab dinner, as well as sights to see in the area. They were always helpful when we asked, and not at all stuffy. THEDININGROOM: As for the dining room, the service was great, and the food was very good. We had the continental breakfast one morning with flaky croissant, beautiful fruit, smoked salmon, meats and cheeses, and assorted juices. It was a beautiful assortment and mostly filling for the $ 10 price tag. The hot chocolate was the highlight. The next morning we ordered off the menu, enjoying the Eggs Benedict with salmon — the perfect portion and well-executed. The staff was as formal as you wanted them to be, with extra polish without pretension. For our dinner, we sat by the fire. We enjoyed several glasses of wine, pairing each with our courses. I started with the Salade Le Chevre — greens in vinaigrette with olive tapenade and a fried goat cheese disc. Simple, but well-executed. For the main, I got the Salmon Verts Verts Verts(Greens, greens, greens for those of you who don’t speak french). It was salmon with asparagus ribbons, brussels sprouts, and spinach quiche. It sounded interesting and fun, but lacked that in execution. The salmon had the white oily film on top, and the quiche was slightly chewy. The apple croustade that I had for dessert was the highlight for me. The pastry was flaky, the apples perfectly cooked, a good balance of textures and flavors. It was supposed to have some fancy ice cream, but all they could offer on a Monday night was plain old vanilla. All in all, it was a lovely experience at the Mirbeau. I will definitely be asking to go back whenever we intend to spend a whole week in the area!

A weekend is certainly not enough time to spend at Mirbeau Inn & Spa. My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate our first anniversary and wished our time here lasted a couple of days longer. The staff is friendly and hospitable, granting any requests and answering any questions we had during our stay here. I’m so glad I jumped on their LivingSocial deal right when I saw it. it was such a bargain! They included two nights, a 3 course dinner for two AND a $ 100 spa credit. Let me tell you, it was well worth every penny and the 4 ½ hour drive from the city! We stayed in one of their comfy cottage rooms — which came equipped with a fireplace, soaking claw foot tub and a spacious tiled shower. Upon arrival we received a bottle of champagne and a handful of chocolate covered strawberries. The king bed in our room was extremely comfortable, piled high with tempur-pedic pillows that provided us with an amazing night’s sleep. We spent the weekend hopping from winery to winery across the Cayuga and Seneca Lake Wine Trails as well as exploring dining across the Fingerlakes region. When we returned to our inn, we had ourselves a 100 minute oil massage and hung out by their aqua terrace — a 15 person outdoor hot tub. Relaxation to the very max! The dinner that was included in their dining room blew our expectations. We were able to choose from any appetizer, entrée and dessert on the menu! We both started with 6 oysters each, moved on to the Veal and the Scallops for our main course, and finished off with chocolate cake and the sorbet(the fruit salad sorbet tasted EXACTLY like fruit salad!). They make their sauces straight from scratch– their homemade cocktail sauce had a little kick in every taste! Our waitress was extremely attentive and sweet which just added to our dining experience. We were able to sit outside on a brisk summer night and feed the koi fish with our leftover bread as we took in the fresh air. The best part had to be though. not worrying about getting drunk from our bottle of wine because we were merely steps away from our cottage! All in all, no complaints! We had a remarkable stay at Mirbeau and hope to return in the future. Next time, we definitely will take advantage of their free yoga/exercises courses throughout the day that we were too tired to attend this time around.
