A few months ago, hubby and I decided to try this place for sushi since it’s so close to our house and has lage hours. I used the online ordering, received an emailed confirmation, called to give our credit card over the phone… only to hear a recording that they were closed for remodeling. What if I hadn’t called and just went to pick up the order? I think they should have added a note on their site as well, and taken the online ordering down! Now I see that they are closed for good. Weird.

I searched for a coffee shop nearby on Unilocal, this place came up. I was there at 1055 am on a Monday morning and they were closed, despite the sign on the door saying they opened at 10am. I wasn’t able to try their coffee and I probably won’t

Let me see how do I put this? Well this place is beyond perfect the first thing that attracted my eye was the decoration I mean it just looks so cozy the colors are great they have a painting on the wall of an open bird cage and I love it! The staff is great everybody is so friendly including the chef… they have free wifi, sushi, lattes, frapuchinos, but wait… frozen yogurt? What else can you ask for oh and different kinds of toppings for the yogurt. I live right behind this place so they see me often I love this place and prices are reasonable. I strongly recommend it!

Service friendly slightly pushy and salesy. Very slightly. Should call order ahead or order To go next time because wait for food was ridiculous. Especially being the only one in the restaurant on a Tuesday afternoon. Did love the sushi didn’t want to try the tea because they were being too pushy about it and didn’t sense my non verbal cues to be left alone to peruse the menu. It’s all good at the end would definitely eat this sushi again. Just not inside. I sat at a booth near the back and table was sticky. Temperature was kept nice and cool with a semi suburban semi lofty feel inside with open ductwork. They’ve been only open hr a year so still figuring it out. Sol lightly all over the place with wine sake sushi chicken teriyaki bubble tea topping stations like it was a sundae bar. Actually I just asked. It’s a yogurt bar. Wish I could give it 3.5. Will be back.

Great place in downtown Skokie. Sushi is fresh and the frozen yogurt is a great and fun addition. Staff is friendly, though chef takes a little long to make the food. They also have a wine and sake selection. I will definitely go back!

I don’t know how to start but this place is close to perfect! They have latte, cappuccino, bubble tea, milk tea, alcohol, AND sushi? Added the fact that it is a café with a free WI-FI I could stay here all day and study or even just to hang out with a couple of people. The place is great and amazing but the only thing it lacks is that no one I mean NOONE knows about this place! They have the best strawberry watermelon! And their sushi may be a bit pricey but the quality is what you pay for right? Can I add that this place is unbelievably clean? Like literally filtered throughout the entire café! The music are recent r&b’s, relaxing vibe, liquid dubstep sometimes but most of the time a variety of underground artist and YouTube singers’ songs. The place are hidden especially the fact that it’s in skokie but aside from that it’s all in one go! Hang out here or read a book! You can even request songs if you’d prefer!

Loved the sushi and the bubble tea. I felt it was slightly on the pricey side, but the sushi was really good and there was a lot more on the menu in general than I originally thought. The coffee choices looked great, but didn’t get a chance to try it out, will do so next time. I definitely recommend their Taro bubble tea; not too sweet and plenty of flavor. Overall, I had a great experience and will come back to try their other options.

I came here during the week for an informal lunch meeting. I expected it to be better than it was. It’s possible the server had an off-day, but it was way off: I sat down and there was no one around(working) so I sat myself and waited for my guest to arrive. She came about 7 minutes later and I had not yet been greeted or acknowledged by anyone, which was just awkward and frustrating. A server came out from the back to apologize to the only other table about not having food they ordered a while back and so they paid for their drinks and left. Still, the server didn’t acknowledge us. I got up to get menus and only then did she understand that we were there to order food and be recognized as customers. I asked her if there were limits on what we could order since the other table couldn’t get something they asked for. She said«no, you can order whatever from the menu». It’s a small menu with basic sushi and udon noodle dishes and typical apps: egg rolls, rangoon, fried tofu, etc. She came back 2 minutes later to say that we could not, in fact, order anything fried which was about ¼ of the menu and most apps. OK, so maybe her brain was moving slow that day. She was extremely awkward, never said thank you, made strange faces and seemed to not really want to be there. The food was ok, but certainly not worth going back for another lackluster, awkward experience. We ended up getting two sushi combo plates and paying about $ 10 each for them, which isn’t bad, but hardly high quality. Skokie has better choices.

I feel like this place is in the throes of an identity crisis. Froyo, coffee, bubble tea, AND sushi? Granted, I haven’t had anything other than the bubble tea and the coffee, and I have complaints about neither. Since I live in the area, I’m sure I’ll drop by on occasion to get something to-go, but I don’t think I’d ever come back to for a sit-down meal(or anything) again. I tried coming here yesterday to get some work done, thinking that this place would have a café ambiance, but I was wrong. On 6 pm on a Saturday, the place was completely empty. The woman who I’m assuming is the manager practically leapt to my table and excitedly asked me if I wanted to order sushi. When I told her that I just wanted to get a drink, she then hovered around and even asked me what I was reading. I got zero work done because the manager was staring at me from behind the counter, where she retreated after I had showed her the cover of my textbook(in response to her question about what I was reading), and bassy clubby music was blaring overhead the entire time. So – is this place a relaxing café? A sushi lounge? A fun froyo place? I don’t even know. I don’t think they know either.

THISPLACEISGREAT! I love how they have froyo, bubble tea, and sushi all at one spot! Really inexpensive, and the fish is very good! Talked to the man who prepared my sushi, who happened to be a sweetheart, and he explained how it comes in almost daily. I was there when it first opened and even then they had their act together, it’s been a few months so I can only imagine how much better it’s gotten! Oh and another thing that was very nice, the man who prepared my sushi was earnestly asking about the quality of the food and how he thought it could be improved. That was so nice! Definitely a place to go back to over and over again.

Great place! I definitely recommend swinging by this place for it’s sushi. The fish was fresh, the maki and nigiri we’re very reasonably priced, and the service was great! Everyone there was polite, friendly and quick to get your order. I am definitely coming back here for more!

I was really glad to see another new restaurant in downtown Skokie, and was even more excited to discover that it was a sushi joint. I had some rolls and some nigiri, and everything was delicious. The fish was super fresh and the rolls were really generous in size. And if I’m not mistaken, I believe they use fresh wasabi which is always a plus. The service was excellent as well. So glad that Café Hanah is here continuing the tradition of great new restaurants in downtown Skokie. Can’t wait to go back.

Stopped by to kill time while waiting for my little brother to finish up at the dentist. Been meaning to try this place for quite some time. Staff was super friendly immediately upon entering. The place was definitely clean and had such a cool feel to it. Colors are great, furniture is very modern, and I absolutely loved the open bird cage design on the wall. I grabbed two orders of sushi to-go; there wasn’t any delay, and I was out of there pretty quickly. The lady helping me, Bridget was so kind. It’s really rare to find true customer service this days. The presentation of the food was superb. Unlike other sushi places, the rolls were not sloppily thrown into a foam container. Instead, they were carefully placed in a tray that was actually convenient to use as a plate. At first, the thought crossed my mind that the food was a bit overpriced, however I quickly denounced this upon my first bite: delicious. Beyond that, the ingredients actually taste fresh, and it is evident that they are of a higher quality than most places. I don’t mind dropping a few extra bucks in exchange for cleaner, better-tasting ingredients. And the pieces were actually larger than most restaurants, so they were very, very filling. This may be my new favorite sushi place! Will definitely be back. Definitely a wonderful addition to downtown Skokie.

They’ve been opening for about two weeks… Well I came here twice, and the staffs are still training and working on their serving. Kinda pricey.

Went here with my friend today, and the manager remembered me! How sweet! They have gotten all their bowls and plates(which are very pretty), and the workers are better. Awesome place to meet up for lunch! so cute and quaint! Love it :)

So far I’m digging it. I work in the area so despite this joint just opening, my coworkers and I have already tried this place several times. Their coffee is solid, they said they can pretty much make anything that you would want. The sushi is good, not outstanding, but really good. They make a mean California roll and the spicy tuna is pretty tasty. The downsides are that they are still training people(which hasn’t really had an adverse affect on service or quality as far as I can tell, it’s just… obvious), and some of the portions are not appropriate to make this a casual take-out place — aco-worker ordered a $ 9 salad which was about a tennis-ball sized amount of food, didn’t really work out to a filling meal for them. To be fair, their lunch specials are a good deal. Also, they are supposed to be having some sort of yogurt drinks coming soon but every time we’ve asked over the last 3 weeks we’ve been told«next week.» Anyway, despite the kinks, I’d recommend the place, and it’s exciting to have a place like this in Skokie. The décor is stellar too, they really went all-out on this place. I’d recommend trying it for sure.

Took the fam to what, unbeknownst to me, turned out to be opening night. While the ordering process and service reflected some first day jitters(a little hesitant and confused initially), all was forgotten when the food arrived and we began to eat. We ordered a nice sampling of the menu, tasting the Ebisu salad, California Maki, Sushi 101 sampler(smoked salmon, ebi, unagi, inari, crab & tamago), and Yaki soba noodle dish. The flavors were excellent and portion sizes were good. I tend to judge sushi places by their tamago(egg sushi) and I was really impressed by the tamago at Café Hanah. We ate in and the presentation still needs some refining as some dishes came out on plates while others were delivered in to go containers, but, again, the food itself was awesome and staff was very friendly and attentive. They do not have their full offering of food yet(we were told that yogurt will arrive at the end of August), but the core menu is in place and well worth the visit. I’m very excited to have a sushi place in downtown Skokie and will definitely be back. Well done Café Hanah!
