Marshalls

I shop here for kitchen wares (spices/​oils), household, toys, underwear, tights, socks, shampoo, skin products. Always lots to spend money on.

If I could give negative stars I would. The customer service here is HORRENDOUS. I bought a few items, and waited until I got home to try them on. Unfortunately, the $ 20 Guess bathing suit that I purchased didn’t fit so I had to return it. It was a very hot day and I entered the store wheeling my infant son in his stroller. All that I wanted to do was exchange the merchandise for something else, or get my money back, and the supervisors stared me down like I were the devil himself because I was returning. They proceeded to accusatorily told me that the garment had been worn and was not resellable. I’m sorry, but this is not my problem as a customer. That’s your store’s for not providing quality merchandise that can stand up to being tried on. And if I had really worn a bathing suit, there wouldn’t be any trace of wear because it would have gone in the water, genius. I then spoke to customer service, who are following up, but it still took the store manager beyond the 24 hours I was promised to get back to me, and when she did she said she was having «personal issues». WTF? Terrible, I will not be back here ever again. Good thing there is a nice TJMaxx close to me instead.

Love it. No fuss no muss.

So, yes, it’s true that I have complained about my daily commute
out to Skokie, however, when I saw there was an Old Navy and a
Marshall’s Store a few steps from where I work I thought I would be
liking that.
And, I do like the Old Navy Part of it. Marshall’s not so much!
Now, visually, this store is definitely one of the nicer Marshall’s I have
seen/​been to, however, whenever I have gone in to shop I for the most
part have been disappointed.
Okay, some of you girls like your shoes, I like my purses!
And, I’m not talking Coach or Prada but a great designer named Kathy
from New Zealand that Marshall’s always used to carry.
However, I looked high and low for my favorite designer purse and I was
pretty much S.O.L. because this Marshall’s location had not a one
Kathy bag/​purse.
And, the total selection they had was terrible. No Sale Marshall’s,
No Ca– Ching for you today.
Ugly purses equal no sale…
Okay, and then I needed some trouser socks for work because all my
socks have holes in them and then I always lose my socks in the laundry too!
Boy, do I have some bad karma or what?
And I couldn’t even find any socks at Marshall’s.oh, except some Rainbo
Brite ones, they did have those…
And, have you noticed how small those Marshall’s Carts are?
When my almost 34 year old son Brian was little Mattel Toys had come
out with this toy shopping/​grocery cart, and yes, Brian was a little
domestic so he asked for one.
Geez, Marshall’s carts are about that size…
But, after all this, props to the nice store/​employees/​associates, even if
their store never has what I want or need…
But, if you like Marshall’s in general you should check this place out!
Located in Skokie, the land of some great stores!
Unfortunately Marshall’s was not one of them…

This location is always in great shape. Organized, shelves are fully stocked, decent prices.

I love this Marshalls! It is usually clean, organized, and they get a nice variety of things, often, with new shipments. Their shoe selection doesn’t every really appeal to me, but I go there for inexpensive career clothes and homegoods. The staff is friendly, and their dressing rooms are pretty clean compared to other stores who have fitting rooms. Even their bathrooms are ok here, which is usually a good sign as to how they care for their customers. I’ve found some nice clothes and dresses here, and even some fun socks for my bf! I have gone in the mornings and early afternoons, and it hasn’t ever been busy… I have yet to try it on a weekend. It’s quiet, there’s plenty of parking, and the staff is good.

It’s Marshalls… some things are over priced and some aren’t. I do have to say they are very poorly stocked on merchandise. I did find a blazer but other than that didn’t find anything!

Two people at the register, the only two working the checkout line. Thus, we moved so slow, I actually thought i was watching a slow motion film for a moment. Okay, perhaps that’s pushing it, but you get my drift.
Better luck going forward.

I hate shopping. Yes, I’m probably a man trapped in a women’s body. I especially hate searching for deals.
Fortunately, the perimeter of the store contains all the essentials that I may be looking for: Handbags, shoes, shape-​ware, kitchen wares, men’s wallets.
The selection is decent and of course the prices cannot be beat.

3 Stars for store staff. The staff was really nice and more professional than I have experienced with previous discount stores. Selection was terrible. No boys clothing selection (6 – 11 and not one sweatshirt, hoodie or jacket, sweatpants, running pants or gym shorts), no designer denim or denim, and no outerwear for anyone? This store would do so well with more womens sportswear, boys athletic, and a few coats for the family in the North Shore!

It’s a good place to go to when you need designer apparel or accesories but not only to you have to dig a lot and make sure you go in an hour after they get their shipment but you also won’t find the designers most popular for the season. To me that’s a big turnoff coz what’s the point of being cheap if you’re gonna have a fashion from three years ago.
I really don’t like how unorganized everything is, and how the staff doesn’t seem to care. Personally I only come here for the perfumes, which low and behold are also a season or five old.

A good place. But too small. Its not the best place to go.

So yes, it is much smaller than the the one in Chicago and definitely has a smaller selection of stuff, but the service here — by the staff and management is really great. If you are looking for something specific they will help you out and even keep an eye out for it, so you don’t have to keep coming in and can just call to check… so nice.
From shoes to purses, pillows and sheets, frames and lamps… they have all kinds of stuff. I also love not having to pay outrageous prices for major name brand items… you can’t beat that!
Just like any of the discount stores you have to be willing to parooze the aisles and can find some really great stuff… patience, my dear patience.

A much better store than some in the area (Yeah I’m talking to you Morton Grove!) with a nicer layout and much better merchandise.
I always find cool shoes and good stuff on clearance. Handbags and housewares are very hit or miss.
