We go here often and have found it to be a rather good place. The entrees can be VERY good,(especially the fish dishes), or they can sometimes be just ok. The tenderness of the veal for instance,(which I usually get), can be hit or miss and on a couple of occasions a bit dry and tough. The wine list could be improved with a few second growth French wines and a selection of better than average cabs from California. There are many better wine choices out there that will not destroy your wallet. I like very much their choice in larger Cabernet glasses though, the ones they had years ago were just too small. One area that they could make a real change in is the quality of their drinks. God bless those little girls who are behind the bar, they try hard but they just don’t have the mixologist know how to be making the drinks. A high ball they can handle. But anything beyond that and you can pretty much forget it. The ingredients for their drinks are basic bottled mixes such as the type you expect from some college bar that serves the worst rot gut prefab stuff knowing that the kids won’t know any better, but in this day and age of high quality bars mixing drinks from fresh scratch ingredients I’m afraid that what’s offered here just doesn’t cut it. Drinks are a VERY big part of our decision to go to a given restaurant and I think if they would educate themselves on what many of the bars and restaurants are doing in New Orleans that it would greatly increase the turns per night. Many a night we have been one of only two or three tables in the place and there is no reason why this restaurant can not be filled on any given night. The food is really quite good overall and they deserve more customers if they would just give their bar an upgrade with the ingredients that they use and the expertise to use them. The atmosphere is another thing that can be improved on. While a more dim surrounding can be cozy, there is not enough light to read our menus. Also, the music is not sufficient in many areas to cover up the conversations at the surrounding tables and more often than not it causes discomfort to have the people at surrounding tables listening in to family conversations . One small thing, offer a nice portion of real butter with your bread instead of those little plastic packets, please. All in all I recommend going, it’s one of the better places in Slidell.

Évaluation du lieu : 3 New Orleans, LA
I recently dined at Assuntas and found it’s wait staff to be knowledgeable. The dining area was slightly bland with poor lighting and small tea candle on the table. I suggest the lighting to be a bit dimmer for the room for which we dined. The salad had too much dressing for that we didn’t finish. We had two crab cakes as appetizers and the main course was Crabmeat Casserole with Fettuccine Noodles and Scallops on a bed of Angel Hair Pasta. Both dishes were well prepared and tasted wonderful. I think a cocktail list would be nice and the house margarita was very over priced for the size. Overall the food was good, it didn’t knock my socks off but I may go back.
