Sapphire

Brought my wife and daughter here for dinner Friday night. This is easily the best restaurant in Slidell. We started with shrimp cocktail, turtle soup, and crab bisque. I recommend all of these, especially the crab bisque. For entrees we had the veal supreme, stuffed shrimp, and filet topped with jumbo lump crab meat. All the food is exceptional and the steaks are prime. Chef Clayton can sure cook a steak. No need to ever venture out to Ruth’s Chris when the best steak is served right here in Slidell. The owner Aaron came out to the table to check on our meal. Great place for a date night… Good ambiance. Will be my go to place when I visit.

I’ve been to Sapphire twice with my girlfriend and both times we were very impressed. First, the restaurant has a very warm atmosphere and romantic ambiance. The service, from the moment you step in Sapphire until you leave, is very attentive. They also have a good «wine by the glass» selection, especially useful if you and your date have different wine tastes. The food is simply amazing. They have a good selection of entrees that is, being in Louisiana, a bit heavy on seafood. As Sapphire is an upscale restaurant, side dishes are a la carte. This past visit my date had the tuna steak and noted it was excellent. I had the filet mignon and they cooked it perfectly. Even more impressive, given that I like my steak well-​done, is that it was still very tender (many restaurants seem to equate well-​done with charring and drying out a steak). Sapphire is a great special occasion/​date night restaurant that is a must try for anyone in the Slidell area.

I am sooooo glad we came here, I surprised my husband for his Birthday and Father’s Day. Oh my goodness, this is the place to go. We both got the trout with crabmeat, the fish is the freshest I have tasted in forever…
Than we ordered the Ribeye without the bone. Ordered medium with crabmeat on top and if that’s what a perfect steak is, than I found it. I hope to go back really soon, next time I will have pictures.

I am going to bump this place up to 4 stars from my last rating. The food is excellent and they have refined the cream spinach side to where it is excellent and uniquely their own. Filets and Tuna are very good quality and tasty.
Management seems to have worked some of the kinks out considering it is a relatively new restaurant.
Kim at the front is very nice and accommodating. Lou always makes it to your table which is a nice touch and good business.
For Slidell, the place is pricey, but convenient so you can get that good steak fix without driving to the city.
The service is much improved from the fall. They seem to have a little less staff turn over recently.
I recommend trying this place out and if you like it support it. Slidell has too many chains and we need to support a worthy small business like this.

I have dined at Sapphire three times and it just keeps getting better! On my first two visits, I gave constructive feedback to one of the owners, Lou, and have been impressed with his appreciation of feedback and his genuine desire to make improvements as needed; you certainly don’t find this very often.
On my most recent visit, Saturday evening, Feb. 8, my wife and I invited two couples to join us, so we had a party of six. The restaurant was packed; there was not one empty table (that says a lot). Everything from beginning to end was absolutely flawless. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. I ordered the petit filet, as did my wife, and both filets were cooked exactly the way we wanted them, and the creamed spinach was superb.
By the way, the bartender makes a mighty fine sazerac!

Best in Slidell. I love the Turtle Soup. My Wife’s Steak was pretty good too! Great atmosphere!

Atmosphere is great. Steak was ok! Yams to die for. Decent wine list. I love the bar but the tv screens with Auquaium Screen Saver needs to go. The owner greats everyone at their table, which is nice. For Slidell, it’s worth a try.

Fine dining at it’s best! Food is fantastic and always consistent in taste and presentation. A variety of appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts. Wonderful Crab Bisque and Turtle Soup! Great drinks and wine list. The wait staff is courteous, knowledgable, and friendly. The Veal Mandich Supreme is my favorite and my husband loves the Cowboy Ribeye… of course all their steaks are PRIME BEEF! You can order a delicious side, like the cream spinach to accompany your dinner. We have made Sapphire a weekly treat in our life!
