You guys. First up, OV’s is an old-school local place. This means that the décor is charmingly disjointed — a mingling of diner car, paint n’ vino compositions, mid-nineties bistro, and Armenian knick-knacks — and that you will be paying CASH. I can’t believe how upset people get when they see this sign on the door! Hit the ATM; you’ll be glad you did. What OV’s lacks in décor, they make up for in service, which is attentive, friendly, and fast with the coffee. I’m especially enamoured because the kitchen let me order off-menu, in a Saturday, without blinking an eye. I had the chicken souvlaki platter and a side of scrambled eggs, while my momma had a Greek omelette with a fruit cup. While I would hesitate to call what I ordered a platter, the chicken and tzatziki were both excellent, and the eggs I ordered on the side were perfectly cooked: clearly 2 cracked eggs, not the pre-fab liquid. Yum. The Greek omelette is my mom’s staple; she loves the salty/buttery combo of eggs, feta, and olives. Her fruit cup was beautiful: hand-cut applez and pineapple… nothing canned or jarred there! I’ve been a NPVD resident for a while, so I’m not sure what took me so long to give OV’s a whirl, but I would try it again, especially once the patio opens.

OV’s is a great place to grab breakfast — the prices are right and the menu has a variety of items to choose from, especially in the omelette section — you can pretty much find any combination! My favorite thing to get is the egg sub but I get it in a wrap — it’s eggs, potatoes, cooked onions, cheese and Armenian sausage. It’s filling and just very tasty. Also, their French toast game is on point. It’s cash only, there are about 2 – 3 servers and it’s all hands on deck. Just like every other restaurant in RI, be patient and ready to wait a bit for a table and food during the peak times to go grab some breakfast grub.

The food was nothing special, I could have done this at home. When I go out for breakfast I want fresh ingredients that are well prepared, this place has neither. And if you have a restaurant that serves hash, do not use hash from a can. Real hash is delicious, that canned stuff tastes like salty crap. The staff was decent. The interior is screaming for attention. If you’re thinking of coming here for brunch, find another place.

We Went to the Smithfield location on a busy Sunday morning and received excellent service! We were greeted with a smile, always had full cups of coffee and didn’t wait long for food. We will definitely be returning.

The home fries at recent visit looked like they were left over from whatever the rodents did not want to eat from the floor of the grill area. The omlettes were an egg scramble with minimal items. Ate here a few years back when it first opened and it was pretty good, not sure what happened. Service on recent visit was ok, but only a few people in the place.

I LOVE this restaurant/local. The providence location sucks! The servers are so RUDE and ignore you and give you an attitude. Went there twice and would much rather drive the 20 – 25 mnts distance to the smithfield location! I do have to say that they do need more staff and a bigger location. Last time i went there was a line coming out the door and people began to leave but, bc we love this restaurant so much we waited. The breakfast is always amazing and they give huge portions for a fair price! Love it! When it was the 4 of us breakfast for the 4 of us came out to $ 24! If we would have gone anywhere else it would have been atleast almost $ 50. So idk why the sucky reviews from other users! I hope they keep up the good work and continue to serve great breakfasts at great prices with great portions!!! They have yet to disappoint and i pray they will not! Because this our absolutely favorite place to go for breakfast!!!

first-time at ovs and the service was ok the food was good just but I’m giving 3 stars because the service should be more friendly. God a little smile would work the waitress was pretty much stuck her nose more in her phone then trying to make conversations. when I worked in the restaurant business if we didn’t have anything to do we clean or get busy. I pretty much had to fight the flys off my meal I would have giving a 4 star if there were no flys if they only threw the trash out. I would like to try again someday but it wouldn’t be the favorite place to go.

Nice little place that is close to my old workplace. Met up with some friends for breakfast this morning. I’ve been here before on other occasions. Today we all had omelettes! They all came with homefries and your choice of wheat, white or Italian bread toast. I had the turkey makin’ bacon(turkey bacon, broccoli, tomato, provolone). Other omelettes were Trattoria(hot Italian sausage, spinach, onions, tomato, mozzarella) and Chinatown(tomato, pepper, onion, mushroom and American cheese). My gf added corn beef hash — the weird thing is our waitress asked if she wanted homemade or canned? You would think they should only offer one — homemade only but whatever works. They were all very good. The homefries were a little soft for my liking but had a good flavor. The menu is pretty extensive and the place is cute especially during nice weather, they open up the patio. Service was good, coffee was never empty. Nice place to go to for breakfast/brunch. I have yet to go there for lunch.

Nothing was shockingly bad enought to warrent less than two stars but the omlets my wife and I ordered were some of the most mediocre I can remember having outside of the messes I make myself at home. The ingredients seemed low quality and less than fresh. The prices were in line with or a tad higher than other diners, which I cant justify. With all the breakfast options in close proximity to OV’s I dont see a scenario where I come here again.

Great breakfast, but some issues. This place is conflicting to me. The service is a mess and breakfast takes a while to be served. However, the food itself is really good. So how do you rate a place like this? Look past the yelling cooks and the slow service and just order the corned beef hash. I usually wouldn’t go back to place with these issues but the overall breakfast is one of the better places in the area so I just look past it. Be patient and try the food, you’ll understand where I am coming from. Good luck

I stopped in yesterday as I saw a sign for homemade hash. I had the Eggs Benedict Hash, which was excellent and the home fries were cooked to perfection. Service was friendly and good. While the kitchen was slow it was worth the wait. I will be going back again, next time I am in the area.

I’m not exactly positive if this restaurant deserves 3 stars, probably 2, but let’s go with 3 for right now. I have been here twice and both times were alright experiences, but not something I would rave about to my friends. One of the people I dined with said the restaurant sucked and another didn’t really say anything. Personally, I have had my ups and downs with this restaurant. I went for breakfast both times and both times I think my bill was rather steep for breakfast. The staff was semi-friendly, but the service was very slow on my Sunday visit. The décor is very homely, a mix of weird furniture and decorations. I personally liked the thai restaurant that was here before much better. The first time I had the greek omelet and a fruit cup. The omelet was pretty yummy, but I wish there was another kind of cheese in addition to the feta, it didn’t really stick everything together like cheddar would. The fruit was pretty sad looking except for the one delicious strawberry surrounded by unripe honey dew melon. The second time I got a strawberry banana crêpe and homefries. The crepes were sooooo delicious, but two small crepes for 6.35 was rather steep in my opinion. The homefries were decent… when I put ketchup, salt, and pepper on them. A lot of people come here in my town, but I’m not exactly sure why. I mean they have some good breakfast deals, but if you want something interesting you have to fork over your pay check. Not too sure if I’d go for round three.
