The food is absolutely wonderful an the staff is amazing! Always so friendly and busy! Definitely a must try!

Had a late breakfast here a few days ago, went after the rush so we didn’t have to wait. I got the windsor, 2 eggs choice of meat etc, pretty standard breakfast fare nothing exciting but delicious. My friend got the gwaltney Benedict and loved it, I wish I had ordered it, it’s a play on a classic eggs Benedict but instead of ham and hollandaise it has sausage patties and gravy. I’ll definitely come back again soon, Smithfield was in desperate need of a good breakfast place, and they have filled the vacancy very well.

Finally got to try this place after passing it many times! Man was I missing out. The food was great, staff was even better. The waitress was very friendly and made me feel right at home! Shout out to Natalie, thanks for the awesome service! My advice to anyone thinking of trying this place is DO it NOW. Try the waffle combo.

Great food for a reasonable price! I had the biscuits and gravy which were good. The hash browns were awesome!

If you’re visiting from out of town and you’re unaware we do not have many restaurants to choose from in Smithfield.
There are numerous reasons for this and the amount of permits and hoops a small business owner has to jump through is mind-​boggling.
If you go during peak hours yes you’re going to wait 30 minutes or more to get into the building and be seated and served. This is a reflection of the actual food and cost, as well as the lack of other good restaurants in the area.
We have eaten at the cockeyed rooster five times over the last three months.
Each time we have gone in after the breakfast rush so about 11 o’clock on a week day.
The restaurant is always clean has a very cute Decour my daughter pointed out everything on the wall is slightly askew and she asked why I said that would be fitting that of a cockeyed rooster
Restrooms are labeled men to the left women always are right.
The staff have always been friendly but are very busy. One staff that was taking my order over her tablet did have to follow up on the order to make sure it went in correctly because they have difficulties with orders overlapping each other.
The food items that we have ordered have all been well prepared.
The food items are basic however very delicious. The country ham Best ham I have ever had. Both of my children enjoy the pancakes and have said to me several times they are better than certain chain restaurant pancakes across the bridge.
One review reported they didn’t understand the location in the strip mall I am grateful for the amount of parking and the ease of getting in and out of parking that the cockeyed rooster allow’s due to the location there in.
Other eateries and restaurants in Smithfield are located in old town Smithfield which at times it can be challenging to find parking.
For someone with a physical disability this is a very easy and comfortable parking lot and restaurant to maneuver through and get in and out of.
This is a family owned new restaurant with the theme of being a little cockeyed so hopefully others will appreciate this business owners efforts. We look forward to eating at this restaurant again and watching development and growth of this family owned restaurant.

This is a one and done. While the hostess and waitress were nice the food was okay at best. My over medium eggs were not over medium and the potatoes that came with the meal had no flavor. Bland and boring is how I describe it. I am giving three stars because of how nice the staff are.

Nice surprise! I saw low reviews so held of on going but it just made sense yesterday so I gave it a try. Service was friendly and food was good. It is not fine dining it is a breakfast and lunch place rated in that context I truly enjoyed my lunch.

Delicious food and really great pricing. The staff was very helpful when it came to what was what on the menu. Look at the back of the restaurant for the orange juice machine, it is very neat. I got a pancake breastfast with bacon. the pancakes do not taste boxed. They are fluffy, light and delicious. I really am in awe about the prices. the food and service is better than chain breakfast joints but the prices are sosososo much cheaper. It is worth going in to eat!

I was in the area for a wedding and needed a late breakfast/​early lunch place. This was the closest one to our hotel in Smithfield and the previous reviewers information about the Eggs Benny sold me! I was not expecting it to be in a strip mall, but I am glad we went in anyway. The OJ was some of the best I’ve ever had, definitely tasted fresh squeezed. The food did take a little bit to come out, and when it did I was skeptical of the look of the Eggs Benny that I was so excited for. HOWEVER, the hollandaise sauce was to die for, even if it looked a little funky. The eggs were a little too runny for my liking, but the meal was definitely satisfying. My friend got a burger and he said that was great as well. Overall cute little place, in a random location that is worth a try!

This is a new business that is having serious growing pains. The food is mediocre. The staff is the real problem. They seem confused and run around like chickens with their heads chopped off (no pun intended). If you are in a hurry, go elsewhere.

Cute atmosphere. Clean and nice inside. Waitstaff is friendly but not all that attentive. It took a really long time to get very simple orders. Food is so so. Nothing spectacular. The portions are very small for the price. The coffee wasn’t ready most of the time we were there. Not the best breakfast in town but not the worst. Might come back when they are a little more established. Nothing more than average.
