good food, fantastic drink menu, friendly staff and reasonable prices. I’m not one to go out to the townie hangouts too often, but it’s a great place to grab drinks, food and catch up with friends while watching a football/hockey game.

Visiting the area and Thirsty Beaver came recommended when we asked the hotel clerk for a place that has good beer. The service from the moment we walked in was great. The food was excellent and the beer selection exactly what we hoped for. We will be back when we are in the area next time.

This is such a fun place to be with friends or a big group. My friend and I came today for some drinks, and to our delight there was a $ 6 Jose Cuervo Margarita special. There were so so many flavors to choose from, and the coconut one was especially good. Along with the margarita special was an $ 8 nacho special. We got one with BBQ chicken and it was so yummy. Also it was a very large serving, much more than the two of us could eat. We initially sat outside on the patio area where the high tops are, but we got too hot and wanted to move inside to the bar. Our waitress was especially nice and she wrapped up our check there before we moved inside. At the bar, the service was not quite as friendly, but still attentive and quick. This is a great place for fun, relaxed pub food with unique twists and lots of specials and events.

I originally visited the Cranston location but Smithfield is a bit closer to home so we gave it a shot. Plenty of parking. They have a kids menu but by peanut/treenut allergic little guy could only have unfried options as the oil had not been changed over and there was cross contamination. He had the grilled cheese and they accommodated his french fry order by baking them(which means they’re frozen). He enjoyed his grilled cheese. My oldest is picky and ordered the boneless beer battered chicken tenders. He ate two out of four but wasn’t a fan. I tried a bite and found them to be too greasy for my taste. I opted for Aspadillas which are basically chicken quesadillas with bacon/ranch. They give you a huge portion(4 packed with chicken). I was only capable of finishing two. My husband ate one. I took the last to go. The hubby ordered wings of course. He requested all flats no wingies. I tried one and it was really good. They were buffalo but better than typical Frank’s red hot sauce. They offer a ton of sauces. Overall It’s good. A bit, heavy, greasy but still good. They changed the menu from when they originally opened. I miss the reuben eggrolls and barbecue flatbread pizza. They have a decent sized menu offeeing sandwichs and salads as well. Our server was really good. She was patient with my oldest while he took forever to choose his meal choice/beverage.

I dig the Thirsty Beaver. I only went once when I was in RI visiting family for the weekend, but I enjoyed my time there. TB has a nice casual environment(log cabin meets sports bar feel) where people go to watch one of the game’s the TB has on. Food is pretty tasty, while I was there I had a burger which was very yummy and cooked just right. I also enjoyed the glass of wine I had with it and if I remember correctly they have a nice selection of craft beers. I’ll definitely check it out again when I am back in RI!

Slow, slow, slow. Nice inside food just ok. Bar tenders don’t know what they are doing. Loosing money they don’t serve fast

The food was great, but the process to obtain the food was disappointing. I posted this on the restaurant’s wall as well, but it was deleted. A shame. I took a colleague who had never been before while extolling how great it was. The service received was poor at best. We arrived, ordered lunch and waited. And waited. You get to that point where you notice it took too long, so we asked the bartender. She told us it would be right out. We then waited more. Then, we were told the receipt printer was not plugged in? and it would be RIGHTOUT. OK, mistakes happen. A couple walked in during that same time. We then waited some more. The couple who arrived when we were told the food would be right out got their food before us. We then waited some more and finally got the food as the couple was finishing up. We had to box up the food as we had to be back for 1pm(which shouldn’t have been an issue as we arrived at 11:45am) and then paid about $ 15 each for food we had to then heat up in a microwave. Not a good experience, and it’s even worse now I realized my comment on the wall was deleted. I hope the management re-examines their lunch staff, you already turned off two customers because of it.

Fun place to grab an excellent burger and fries! I had the beaver tail(burger with bacon + cheese). My boyfriend got the pulled pork sandwich. My burger was cooked perfectly and the waffle fries were hot and crispy! We also enjoyed the atmosphere which was entirely beaver themed. And the service was good too. We’ll be back to try the wings!

This place is an easy choice for my bf and I when we want drinks and food in the company of very picky and unadventurous friends. The food is better than what you would expect from the place, what with the cheesy beaver theme(mozzarella bites are called justin beaver bites here) and glossy wood décor. I do love their wings, and every Tuesday is .50 wing night. I like that I never have to complain about my cocktails not being strong enough, though sometimes they taste like straight liquor and ice. Definitely one of those(cheerfully) chatty, any-night-of-the-week, beer & wings spots.

Still out of the Cedar Swamp pork belly tacos on a Saturday night… Went again to get the pork belly tacos in February and the shells were either stale or over fried. Either way they were inedible, however the service was pretty good.

Not a Fan I will always be fan of the bar that preceded this place, Tickers. It was a dump, but it was my town dump bar. Now we have The Beaver, it’s just not my thing. Nice people, decent deals, so it’s not the new places fault. However, walking into this brightly lit place with the nauseating neon lights on the bar bottles, it just reminds me of one of those awful Bar Rescue makeovers. Saving grace for me is that they have a great bartender named Billy who always treats us well. The place isn’t bad, it’s just not for me. Thanks

Yum! I really enjoyed my lunch here. The menu was way more extensive than I imagined it would be. My only complaint is that my friend’s baby has an egg allergy and she asked the waitress if the pasta had egg in it. She went to the back and said yes, the pasta has egg. When my friend asked if it was store bought or house made(since store bought pasta does not have egg) she just starred and said I don’t know. It would have been nice of her to check on that. But, besides that we had a great lunch. You have to get the beer cheese dip with the salt and pepper house made chips. So freaking good. My group was practically licking the bowl by the end of it. I got a burger which was quite tasty, although pretty messy. Everyone else at the table was happy with their food as well. This is a great addition to this part of Smithfield, you can quickly get here without dealing with the more crowded shopping plazas.

I’ve been here twice now and it’s clear this restaurant does a great job at themeing. The building, name and food are all centered around beavers! Can’t speak too much about the food — recently had the Justin Beaver Bites(yes, you read that correctly) which is their version of small mozzarella balls; for a grouping of 30 at $ 6 not too bad. Generally freindly staff, and the dining area is clean. The men’s room needed attention, and after striking up conversation the bar tender told me he «originally thought(I) was an asshole»(Woah, little did he know his comment would pop up on a Unilocal review of his bar). I think they need to work on getting greater attention on upcoming events and bring some board/card games out to encourage an environment that will keep the crowds there.

My local bias and aversions may be showing a bit here by dropping the review needle on this one instead of C-town, but I do feel compelled *adjusts monocle* From a name I largely avoided at it’s maiden incarnation due to it’s tendency to become a petri dish of my estranged high school’s stereotypical patrons, I can objectively say that this new cabin of gametime grub is quite enjoyable. The décor is an expanded carbon copy of the signature log-adorned branding, with a solidly refreshing amount of extra room in the ways of hightop seating at barfront locale. I also should add that it’s stupid easy to get to off of 295, so don’t let the Smithfield geotag deter you fellow Provy folk from popping up the I-way for a football Sunday. The food is stellar, which I will give to the original location as well. Paint most things in buffalo and I’m a sucker, but these dishes are legitimately worth the lunchtime mowdown. My Buffalo wrap saw the light of day for roughly 3 minutes after it’s voyage from the kitchen to the bar. Drinkwise I am very satisfied with the array of craft beers, pounder standards, and mixological masterpieces. I can safely say there’s absolutely something on the libations chart for every palate. An upper-end of great tuckaway and welcome addition to the occasionally chain-dominated Smithfield commons area. Since my buddy just signed his life away at a fixer-upper down the road, I’ll be back on the frequent for sure.

Descent place. I’ve been here twice and each time it’s been clean with friendly staff. What turns me off is that it’s very, very loud here. On top of that, a band was playing and just added to the noise level. The TVs are huge and there’s many of them so you’ll always be able to watch the game. It’s visually appealing with the cabin-like setting and lighting. Parking isn’t too bad either. Drinks were great and so were the pulled pork nachos. Overall, I’d recommend going here to watch a game. But if you plan on taking someone out for a date or catching up with a friend, you’ll barely hear them.

I’ve been here a few times now and have had different experiences. One thing that’s been consistently good is the food and the beer. The Sriracha Maple Brown Sugar wings and Guinness BBQ wings are soooo good. I don’t want to try any new ones in case they are not as good but I’m sure that they are. I’ve had the Margherita pizza also which has balsamic glaze and pesto drizzled on top — very tasty. I’ve also tried a couple of burgers and waffle fries which were very tasty. I love the beer options and need to ask if they do beer flights next time I am in there(if not, hope they do upon reading this!) So the not so great stuff isn’t unexpected for a new spot as it takes some time to get the footing right. One time we sat inside and had way too many flies… I get it, the garage-esque doors are open but it is super gross. Another time we sat outside and got attacked by mosquitos… I’m thinking some tiki torches or something with citronella could help. Service has gotten better, one waitress in particular is our favorite as she is consistently friendly knowledgable and shows up every once in a while. We did have a couple of times where we had to go find someone to get drinks and food. One other thing was that we were there during a live band playing and they suuuucked. We were outside and praying they would eventually stop singing… and they did. Again, these are things that develop for the better over time… you find the right people, know your setting and clientele and take it from there! All that matters is that the food is great, drink options are as well and it’s a great place to catch up with friends or catch a game.

Meh. I don’t see anything special about this place. Seems like more of a restaurant than a place to hang out on a Friday night. Lots of beer selections. I would come here to watch a game or something.

After playing tennis nearby, a group of friends decided to find a local place with patio seating. Thirsty Beaver fit the bill. There were about 12 of us going out for a late lunch. We all thoroughly enjoyed the Thirsty Beaver. I had the chopped salad with chicken. Elsewhere on the table were some flat bread pizzas, a burger, various sandwiches and lots of beer. Everyone enjoyed their meals and our time at this road side restaurant. One of my favorite things on the menu was the fried pickles. I never knew I liked pickles until someone started frying them! If your in the area, stop in at the Thirsty Beaver.

Went last night and would return. I know it’s still new and the staff is probably learning the ropes of the business so there is room for improvement. The place itself is adorable — got a fun, rustic feel to it and because it is new, the place is extremely clean and shiny! The staff are awfully young, looks like a lot of college kids looking to make some extra cash. The clientele during our visit ranged from college kids to the after work crowd. Nobody was rowdy so our experience was enjoyable. The place is huge so you didn’t feel too crammed. We ordered wine and beer(Monday’s are $ 2 lite beer specials). For food — zucchini coins(came out as sticks, not coins but still good), turkey burger with side of sweet potato fries(burger well cooked and tasty, fries could’ve been frozen but they were fine) and the Deerfield pizza(wasn’t bad but felt like it was missing something to give it a little oomph). Overall, the place was good and definitely a nice spot for after work drinks. A few things we were meh about were that they had the doors open the entire time we were there — last night was a bit cold so we def felt the chilly breeze and also we could smell smoke from anyone who might’ve gone out for a cig. Also, once we finished eating and drinking alcoholic beverages, our bartenders completely neglected us the rest of the time we were there. So when our water glasses were empty — no one noticed and I had to flag someone down to finally get our check. Normally, i understand the bar staff can get overwhelmed and are very busy but there were 4 bartenders/waitresses all talking amongst themselves at the end of the bar. The place is definitely well staffed and the food isn’t bad. I’d definitely stop in again and am hopeful it will become a really great place for all types of gatherings.
