Friendly’s

I’ve been coming to this Friendlys my whole life. It’s a great location in Smithtown on the corner of Mt. Pleasant And 347.
It’s an easy going place, you can’t come in here expecting the world after all it’s just Friendlys. But for what it is, and the old mentality with friendlys of come for the ice cream stay for the food, it earns itself a solid 4 stars in my book.

Standard Friendly’s. I’ve been here a bunch of times because I always get super friendly service from the waitresses that I know, and it’s generally less crowded than the location in Stony Brook.
Not much to say about a place like Friendly’s. The food is just really standard. However, what it has going for them recently, is that so far, Friendly’s have kept its half off apps starting at 9, and they haven’t changed portion sizes. The other major chain that does half off apps is Applebee’s, who have recently restructured their appetizers to give it a lot less value.
Therefore, I’m going to give Friendly’s the slight edge these days in value. The quality of food has not decreased, and there’s always a nice slew of ice cream available if you’re feeling it late at night.
I don’t think I’d recommend getting anything outside of the starters here. Mozzarella Sticks, Buffalo Chicken Tenders, and Quesadillas are always a safe bet here. I personally like their Strawberry Shortcake Friend-​z or a Fribble for dessert, but that’s personal preference.
You pay for what you get, and after 9, your dollar goes a lot farther. Probably my preferred go-​to place now for half-​off apps.

One of the best Friendlys I’ve been to! Staff is very friendly and so are the managers. The food is great as well!

For a place called Friendly’s, they have VERY abrasive and rude employees.

Food was disgusting. Kids meal looked soggy and gross, even there monster mash icecream was disappointing. I got a burger, think was so nasty and it was 10 dollars. The whole menu is a heart attack. Never going again. I can’t believe they even have business there.

No major problems here except that our waitress dissapeared for a good 15 minutes at one point. we were with little kids and they were starting to get seriously uptight.
Also, the mens room needs a remodel.
I’ll still go here over Stony Brook because the food is the same, and that place is just too crowded.

Disgusting. Such slow service, had to run across the street to get change for the bill because no one was at the front cash register. Food was awful, the loaded fries with melted cheese didnt taste like cheese and tasted more like fake creamy plastic. Never coming back again the place did nothing but give me a stomach ache. Its gone way down hill from what it used to be. Very disappointed.

This is not our usual Friendly’s. We usually go to the one in Commack. But we were picking up a couple of my daughter’s friend and taking them out to eat… and this one was closest.
I read the other review in here about the place and figured… it couldn’t be that bad. Unfortunately, it wasn’t far off as far as the cleanliness. We talked it and the tables were dirty, the floors had dropped food on it as we talked to our table (and there wasn’t anyone sitting at those tables).
The host sat us down at our table and there was a drop of melted ice cream on the table. I asked the guy to clean it up. He grabbed a napkin from the dispenser and wiped it, but ended up just smearing it across the table.
The service was not too bad, the waited took our order pretty quick and the food didn’t take very long to come out. However, as the waiter was bring out the food, the sauces for the chicken were dripping all over the floor as he approached the table.
The burger that I ordered tasted pretty good… no complaints from anyone else either about their meal.
The food was good, but it’s hard to overlook how dirty the place was… and there was hardly anyone there. You’d think they’d take the time to clean all the stuff they are dripping all over the floor and table.

yeah I think not. I’m not reviewing friendly’s the chain or it’s food, its this location only. Unorganized, never clean, and very slow service. Friendly’s is not known for service but this one is exceptionally bad, most locations at least try. This one is closer to my place but I would rather travel to stony brook for better service.
