I really wanted to like this place, especially since there are few wine shops in the area that carry select South African and Australian wines that I have come to know and love. Unfortunately, the owner was very unapproachable and provided no feedback in regards to his new business or what he had to offer. His dismissive behavior and hesitancy to shake our hands caused my friend and I to wander right back out of his shop and on to the next set of shops to finish our Christmas shopping. «Although your customers won’t love you if you provide bad service(or in this case no service at all), your competitors will.» Kate Zabriskie

I’ve bought through Chris for a few years now. He is really more of a group private buying service, meaning he’s not shopping for you but for what he thinks his clientele will like and what he likes. Chris’ palette is good, so his«FWC» rating is usually pretty useful. I think his prices generally beat retail and nearly always beat vineyard direct pricing. I buy primarily California wines through Chris, although I have also bought some Barolos.

If you are a true wine snob and like to collect, this is the place for you. Not exactly a retail store, more like a tasting room with a killer selection for sale. Chris knows his stuff, you can’t go wrong with his recommendations. However…don’t expect to walk in to buy 1 bottle of wine. He sells by 3, 6, 12 and up and no mixes on that. Hours are by appointment only. Most bottles are $ 30 and up but he does have some steals in the $ 20 range. If you love your wine… this place gets a big thumbs up!
