Elk River Snowboard and Ski

These guys are hands down the best shop on the mountain. Top notch gear. Fair prices and insanely helpful. They helped my girlfriend get into a boot that was real comfortable so she had a great time. Also waxed my board and helped me refit a stomp pad when mine fell off. Great shop with great staff. Highly recommend. John was a great help.

Staff was very friendly (even provided choice restaurant recommendations) and store offered very fair rental gear pricing. They were also happy to provide a free rental coupon when our Sunday boarding was ruined by sheets of rain. They waxed my girlfriends board and did an excellent job as well. Overall very pleased with locally owned shop, friendly staff and quality service.

We got our snowboards stolen at snowshoe. We were forced to buy snowboards and bindings. They said they’d give us 10% off, but they jacked up the sticker price with a slight of hand at the register, so we ended up paying full-​MSRP in March, when everything should be 30% off. I didn’t even notice until after we left. I guess I should have been more careful but I just wanted to ride. Then my girlfriends board was recovered so she returned the unridden board and they charged her $ 30 to return it… We had it for an hour tops and it was absolutely brand new. You’d think a shop would take sympathy on a couple that just got thousands of dollars of gear stolen, think again… this shop was salivating at squeezing a few more out of us. What a bunch of scumbags. They shop staff was nice but the guy that runs the place, bald old dude with glasses, is a devious prick.

Bought a pair of mittens here that had a factory defect. Spoke with the OWNER who told me to take it up with Burton, not him. All I was asking for was an exchange from a defective product that was sold to me. No sense of customer service. I will go to Full Tilt on my next trip if I need anything.

Like its namesake, Elk River Touring Center, six miles away, this Elk River branch on the ground floor of the sumptuous Soaring Eagle Lodge, tends to the needs of the active life style, particularly in the snowboarding and skiing class.
Although occupying a relatively small footprint at the base of the lodge, nevertheless the store has an impressive array of snowboards, skis, ski blades, clothing and accessories. It is one of the very few places in the area that offer ski blade rentals. On the accessories, it’s goggle and eyewear selection is truly outstanding.
As usual with the Elk River brand at Snowshoe, it is staffed by courteous, knowledgeable and customer oriented employees. You won’t feel like you’re a grain of sand in the beach. The management (Gil) and his employees provide personable treatment at very reasonable rates.
Entering the store, the customer is amazed at the efficiency in space utilization. I’m addition to boarding and ski gear, the store also stocks, rents and sells snowshoes of various proficiency levels.
An outstanding store with a superior track record of serving the Snowshoe community.
