My fiancé and I stopped here for a light and healthy dinner. This is a Chipotle for salads. My salad was fresh and tasty. I like their cilantro and jalapeño vinaigrette dressing.

Wonderful, fresh, organic food and great homemade dressings! Very vegan friendly too :) I always get the quinoa brown rice with avocado, tomatoes, garbanzo beans, and carrots with their dairy free peanut dressing, which has a nice kick too it, but not too spicy! The jalapeño cilantro lime vinaigrette is also a delicious dressing option! The staff is also really friendly and knowledgeable about their ingredients. The price seems fair for the portions. Definitely a good, healthy and delicious choice!

This place is the best, it’s seriously every Heath conscious person ideal place. It’s fast it’s fresh lots of Organic produce and plenty of options weather you are creating your own or choosing one of many pre designed choices. The prices are also very fair, the wraps are HUGE and the majority of the staff are extremely friendly and know what they are doing. When I’m working in the area I seriously am waiting all day for lunch time so I can get my favorite custom wrap. And to top it all off the owners are very friendly and I couldn’t be more grateful for this place in Solana beach

Excellent food and service. We had the Hang Ten and Sunrise smoothie. Loved ‘em. Service was helpful and with a smile. Food was excellent.

I live right nearby and go to this place all the time, and I’ve never had anything that wasn’t totally delicious. My go-to is the create your own salad — great fresh organic items to chose from, love the spicy broccoli, and fresh beets. Reasonably priced for the portion size and quality of produce you get. And the cilantro lime dressing is spicy and delicious on any salad — all the dressings are homemade and amazing. The wraps and bowls are great too — love the Thai bowl! Added plus is that all the employees are very friendly and helpful. Gotta love this place!

Wow, this place is WONDERFUL. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a filling, healthy, organic, fresh meal. The serving size is very plentiful and it’s great because it’s all natural ingredients. You won’t feel bad after your meal. I have tried the Power Protein wrap(with the Dijon balsamic vinaigrette) and the Baja Bro burrito, both amazingly tasteful. The wrap was so big that I wasn’t able to eat it all in one sitting. I wound up taking the other half home. And their smoothies are such a delight. They don’t have a green-y taste to the smoothies; they taste like fruit! You do have the option to turn a salad /bowl into a wrap… but beware the wraps are too large to bite into. The size is not a bad thing, just warning you if you plan to eat a giant wrap in front of new colleagues. There are only a few seats on the inside to sit & eat. It’s more of a take-out place. The only unfortunate thing is that this place only has one location. I wish they had more locations!

We got the iron man smoothie, Amazon power acai smoothie and the nutty protein smoothie… Out of the three, the nutty protein one was the best but I really like peanut butter. The iron man and Amazon power smoothies are more refreshing and the nutty protein is a bit heavier. All three are really good, will be back

I must of ordered the wrong salad(a protein power and added Salmon) Just didn’t hit the spot. I see these amazing reviews so maybe the other stuff is great. On a side note the cookies are pretty good.

If you want to have a meal that leaves you feeling healthy(or at least healthier), Local Greens would be a good place to try. It’s a pretty small place tucked away in a little strip mall. Funnily enough, it is next to a Subway, which is what LG might remind you of. You can build your own salad or bowl, or you can choose from preconfigured salads or bowls, optionally making a bowl into a wrap. I got the Hang Ten Thai bowl and my gf got the Cowabunga Cobb with a medium serving of dressing.(That wasn’t a choice for bowls apparently.) We shared and thought they were both pretty good. For the HTT, I really liked the noodles. The peanut sauce could have been peanuttier. The chicken was a bit on the dry side and probably could have been cubed a bit smaller. Portion-wise, these bowls and salads were pretty well packed. As a Chipotle connoisseur, to compare, for a similarly sized bowl, I think LG packed in more stuff. So at $ 7-$ 9, I guess that’s not too bad. We also had a cookie. Not sure if they’re baked in-house, but it was very good. The shop itself, again greatly resembles a Subway. On the petite side, some seating on the inside. You can sit on a bench topped with fake grass outside. The salad artists seemed very friendly, too. There were some very interesting items on the menu that I would like to try, but I’m probably not going to go out of my way to get back to Local Greens. If you’re in the Solana Beach area, might be worth checking out.

Tried Local Greens for the first time today, I had the Baja Bro and my wife had the Hang Ten Thai. Excellent food, friendly staff and just plain fun place to be. We pulled up to Astro Turf covered stools, watched the world go by and enjoyed our food. Really good eats, fair prices and enjoyable atmosphere.

There isn’t anything much closer to a picnic in the park(other than a picnic in the park) than is Local Greens. With an AstroTurf floor and wooden tables, not too unlike their picnic table cousin found in so many public parks, the atmosphere here is almost like being in side. Or maybe a hydroponic park. And the food. The food… delicious! We’ve only been once, but the offerings we enjoyed(the Greek and the Thai) were divine. Such an affordable, healthy treat. The staff, the day we went, seemed a little… new? There was one staff member who clearly new what they were doing and all seemed to refer to them in case of any doubts. This seemed a little bit stressful for said staff member(or maybe it was the flooding rain that weekend). Otherwise, good. We’d definitely visit again. Maybe on our next visit to San Diego, when all the parks are mud pits anyway.

This is my new favorite go to spot for a quick lunch or dinner on the go I love the idea of fast quality clean food, and local! Here’s what I have had: California dreamin– prefer it wrap style for convenience but have had the salad which is also great. Cobb-awesome Tikka masala bowl– it was not what would expect if you get tikka often but glad I tried it. It’s their own version, which is a nice alternative. The quinoa wrap is very filling Chocolate chip cookies are hard to resist here Ginger beer soda is awesome Great addition to SB. Love it!

I am definitely a fan of local greens. I love supporting small businesses, especially when they serve healthy food! This is a really small restaurant, so I usually come here to grab takeout. I did eat there once though and we were able to find a table, but the tables are really close to the line/register, so not a lot of room. Basically I would not have been able to bring my baby’s stroller! I would describe it as «Chipotle style», where you wait in a line and then order and they make what you order in front of you. It’s nice because you can see all of the veggies and have them add on extras or leave off what you don’t want. I’ve gotten the Baja Bro Bowl, and was really happy with it! The steak is actually really good quality and it is a really big helping of food, so expect some leftovers. My husband got the Teriyaki Spicy Bowl and loved it, he said that it had just the right amount of spice and that the chicken was cooked well and good quality also. I also like their convenient iPad credit card processor, it makes it quick and painless to pay and be on your way! Definitely a great addition to lunch options in Solana Beach!

What a wonderful find this has been for me, when I take the train to Solana Beach. In a center filled with fast unhealthy foods, Local Greens in an Oasis! I love the astro-turf floors! I love that they buy their ingredients from local farms and list them! I love the wraps! I absolutely love that the soda fountain is natural sodas and that they incredibly have Boylan’s!!! The only suggestion I have for them is that when I order a wrap, that it shouldn’t contain as much rice as a bowl. Ingredients get lost I will be back!!!

Although I was excited to try Local Greens, I’m sad to say that it didn’t impress me. Maybe it’s just not cut out for people like(i.e. picky eaters) but I had a hard time finding the ingredients that I wanted on my salad, which is amazing because there’s such a large list of toppings. The confusing part is that there are two lists, one for basic toppings and one for premium toppings. Each salad comes with four basic and one premium and then you can add extra ingredients for an additional charge. Unfortunately, almost all of my favorite salad toppings were on the premium list. Since when is cheddar cheese considered a premium topping? Seems pretty basic to me! Hard boiled eggs are also premium, which again seems strange. I understand having the meats(chicken, salmon, etc) and the avocado and even the blue cheese listed as premium toppings but the others seem excessive. My other complaint was that there is no ranch dressing. How do you have a salad place with no ranch, which is one of the most popular dressings? After all of this, I ended up ordering a chicken caesar salad with grape tomatoes and croutons. Even the parmesan cheese was considered a premium topping and since I already used my premium topping on the chicken, I decided to skip the extra $ 1.25 charge and put some of my parmesan from home on the salad. The salad tasted fine but was nowhere near the best caesar that I’ve ever had.

I eat at this place 2 – 3 times per week for lunch and really enjoy what is has to offer. It has plenty of variety and you can get all their options as salads, bowls, or wraps. They have pre-made options that I slightly modify to meet my personal needs without slowing up the line and being a pain. The portions are rather large so you shouldn’t leave hungry. Good value. The Hang Ten Thai is really good but I get it with rice or quinoa instead of the noodles. The Cobb is really good and so is the Baja Bro. I’m a creature of habit so I haven’t ventured to far past those. They also have these amazingly tempting chocolate chip cookies by the cash register if you’re feeling the need to indulge The staff is just fantastic and the owners are as well. I highly recommend giving it a try.

We had our day after thanksgiving lunch here, you know when you’re craving something light and not in the mood for leftovers yet? The store is pretty small so more of a grab and go or super casual meal. Local Greens offers a great variety of salads, bowls, and wraps. They have chefs creations and custom creations. When I lived in NYC, I loved the create your own salad bars in many of the corner stores. I have not been able to find this concept here in SD but local greens delivers it. For our first time we tried out their chef’s creations! The endless summer salad(which I had in a wheat wrap) had quinoa, wild and brown rice, arugula and romaine, herb roasted chicken breast, mango salsa, and dried cranberries with an awesome jalapeño cilantro lime vinaigrette. This was perfectly light while having some substance to keep me from not being hungry 30 minutes later(as can sometimes be the case with salads). My fiancé had the stoked spicy teriyaki bowl with cilantro lime rice, organic carrots, spicy brocoli, Asian slaw, herb roasted chicken, organic green onions, teriyaki sauce, and sricha chili garlic sauce. The freshness and flavors were great but the teriyaki would have been better if it was more balanced with some sweetness. Service was friendly and meals were prepared quickly with the fresh ingredients behind the counter. Definitely glad to have this place nearby, we will be back soon!
