Compared to there vista location this one portion are ridiculous for the price! Got a urban salad with chicken and its 1⁄3 the size and 30% more then the vista location my advise drive the extra 10 miles and go to vista staff is four times more friendly and Joe(vista) always makes you feel welcomed

Great experience– we were seated right away on a Saturday evening at 5:30pm(I know, early, but we have 4 kids under the age of 7). Nice to not have to wait with 4 small & hungry kids! The staff was prompt and very friendly. The food was delicious and they have gluten-free…AND my husband has celiac’s so there aren’t many pizza places he is comfortable with(due to cross contamination and getting super sick). They are very careful here and he hasn’t gotten sick any of the times he’s gone(which is a HUGE bonus in our book as we have very few restaurants we feel«safe» with!). We will definitely be going regularly!

Almost bucking for a 5 star review. Good, quality ingredients along with just amount of oil/greasy goodness. Sometimes might be in mood for the gourmet posh type pis that is singular in size and missing the messy gooey reason your craving for pizza. This style has some of both gourmet but big slice tastiness. lastly the price is right $ 22 for, big I mean large salami & basil. I’ll be back

Located on Hwy 101 through Encinitas, URBN Pizza is small, having what looked like 12 – 15 tables, but also some bar style seating by take out cashier area. Ordered our two pizzas(one BBQ chicken and one cheese) and large URBN salad over the phone. We arrived 20 minutes later as directed, only to have the cashier tell us that he’d placed our large BBQ chicken pizza in as a small, and could we wait 10 minutes for to him to make us another small. Sure, no problem, we’ll go take a walk up the street. Returning 10-ish minutes later we are given our three boxes, two small and one large pizzas, plus the salad. They were huge pizzas, I think we could have just ordered smalls. The quality was good, service was friendly, parking stinks, only street parking and you have to park 4 – 5 blocks away on a Saturday night. Would def return though, cute inside décor and design.

Greattt pizza and salads. Good prices. Two can share a small pizza for about 10 $ each! Very nice staff, very knowledgeable. Great craft beer-their own. Nice atmosphere. Eat here about once a week.

The pizza here is good, but the experience is challenging because of the staff. Normally I would’ve given them 3 to 3 ½ stars because I can usually navigate my way through getting what I want without getting too pissed off at the bad service. However after my last experience, they lost a star. I called at 9:30 on a night when they close at 10. I wanted to order a pie to pick up, and I live five minutes from the place. I would figure this would be a no-brainer. I was told the kitchen closes before the restaurant, and I could not get a pie to go-even though they only take 5 or 6 minutes to cook. Very typical of a place where the owner is not there and trusts a couple of @!; workers to run the operation.

I am adding a star to this review because I was contacted by two people at URBN who wanted to make the poor experience right. I appreciate your dedication to improving your restaurant. BF and I have decided to give the place another go because I believe it could have really been just an «off day» for the place. Fingers crossed I can add more stars after the second visit as I’d really like to like them solely based on the people who helped make it right.

I had previously been to their Vista location but had not yet tried the Encinitas location until friends recommended we meet there for dinner. The interior is small, casual, and intimate. It has a nice warm feeling with all the wood paneling. The server was helpful and although we kept asking for more time he was very patient and kept checking on us often. The manager came and greeted us also and turned on more lights for us once it got darker. The manager was very attentive and also help us as it got colder by closing the doors and even took a photo of our group. The food was very good. I love thin and crispy crust pizza. The toppings are varied and there is something for everyone from traditionalist to those more adventurous. The small actually was quite large. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was the parking. It was a weekday night and still had to drive around the block several times and ended up having to park quite a ways away and across the street. But that is the same for any establishment downtown Encinitas.

The pizza was awesome. Gluten free option. Atmosphere cool. If the service would not have been terrible, it would be a 5 star place. The staff stood around and talked amongst themselves, had to flag someone down for the order, to get napkins, to get the check, to get them to pick up the check. Too bad cause it’s a cool place.

This restaurant caught the eye of my fiancé when we were driving down the 101 last night, and pizza sounded good. Greeted warmly when we entered. There is a very Portland-esque feel of this cozy brew-pub, with lots of wood paneling. Outside was heavily raining with lightning and thunder and it was a casual romantic spot. Though they are owned by the same guy who owns Bar Basic, the pizza here has a preferable crust owing to a completely different oven than the one Bar Basic uses, producing a nice crispy crust. Bathroom repeated wooden theme with a sort of cabin-type feel. Street parking is hit or miss generally but at 8PM on a weeknight, not an issue. Maybe my new favorite pizza joint.

This URBN has a great location by the beach. PArking might be hard to get on a busy day but trust me it is worth the walk! The margherita pizza was so yummy and I was a BIG fan of the mash potato pizza!!! And I couldn’t forget to mention their salads are amazing! Loved the pears in mine:) And for beer lovers you must come here to try their beer! Great and friendly staff! I loved the enviroment here !

When my family and I arrived in town, my wife and mother-in-law went walking down South Coast Highway to check out the cool shops and restaurants. My mother-in-law is extremely sensitive to gluten and many types of dairy, so eating out is hard for her, especially at a place that specializes in pizza. However, they stopped into URBN to see what was available. They were so glad they made the trip. The hostess/waitress let them know that the owner(or at least somebody in management) has celiac disease and is very conscious of those who cannot tolerate gluten. They make their own gluten-free crust daily in the store and prevent any potential cross-contamination with the other products. They were blown away, especially since another Encinitas pizza restaurant basically told them it wasn’t safe to eat there if somebody had gluten sensitivity. They ate in and thoroughly enjoyed their meal. A couple days later, we ordered it as take-out.and did the same a couple days later. We all really loved the quality of these pizzas and salads from this place. We got standard and gluten-free crusts without any disappointments. Some of our favorites: — Chopped Italian Salad — Full of salami, pepperoncinis and chickpeas. —(B)URBNBBQ Chicken Pizza — This one is solid. The bacon, scallions and sauce really come together. –Polpetta Con Provolone Pizza — This was my absolute favorite. Traditional as it gets with meatballs, red sauce, basil… I could get a whole pie myself and eat it in one sitting. –Fresh Clam — I really liked this one. Very heavy on the spices and for lovers of linguini with clam sauce. — Peppered Salami — We had several pepperoni lovers with us and they were very satisfied. Loaded with pepperoni and pepperoncini. If you are looking for a good pizza in Encinitas, whether you are gluten-free or not, go to URBN.

I had the privilege to attend the Unilocal event hosted at URBN Encinitias. While registering for the event, It never cross my mind that this is an expansion on the URBN in North Park and Downtown. You can imagine my excitement when our fellow Unilocalers broke the news to me. Our table ordered 3URBN Salad and 2 Large Pizza, the first pizza was a mashed potato and bacon pizza and the 2nd pizza was a split between the Sausage and Peppers and Margherita. The large pizza is big enough for a party of four to share. Story has it that the URBN in downtown offers a happy hour special, which I will need to investigate.

Awesome experience right on the 101… Had a polpetto con provolone, along with an URBN saison, that I was told won a bronze at the GABF. Great addition to the Nieghborhood.

I was actually really excited to try this place since I like the Basic downtown and the URBN in Vista, both of which I believe are part of the same company as URBN Encinitas. Unfortunately, this place was a very big let down. The service was really unprofessional and the space itself was terrible too. No air conditioning, an odd layout, uncomfortable seats, etc. I even overheard one employee talking to other customers about how awful it is being there all day without air conditioning in a small place that contains a 950° oven. The level of professionalism of the service absolutely pales in comparison to the Blue Ribbon Pizza right across the street. The pizza is a step down from Blue Ribbon as well since I found it to be soggy and the mozzarella was certainly not the highest quality. With the high prices they are charging, one would expect a correspondingly high level of service and food quality. However, this is definitely not the case here. Once my pizza finally arrived(after 30 minutes of waiting and some explanation about a kitchen mishap) the server says to me «alright bud… what do you think?» That sort of thing is fine for a two dollar a slice pizza joint, but not for a sit down restaurant demanding these prices and trying to compete with the highest end gourmet pizza establishments. Not likely I will be back anytime soon.

Dear URBN Pizza… We drove all the way from Corona, after hearing from local family members how great your pizza was… First I like to say thank you for the very friendly greetings at the door as we entered and excellent service! Second i beg of you to get air conditioning! The dining room was at least 90%. Third PLEASE add more cheese to your Margarita pizza!!! 4 table spoons of cheese is not enough! All we taste is sauce and mildly burnt crust. We’ve had our share of Margarita, at other places, and you by far are the most conservative with the cheese. Fourth i will try your place one more time. Definitely will be ordering a different pizza. Thanks Fifth sorry I forgot to take a photo. Next time I’ll remember :) hope it’s a yummy one!

Really good pizza. Good atmosphere. No reservations but we got a table right away. The pizzas are huge, a small is big enough for two. My favorite was the mashed potato pizza but the chicken pesto and eggplant parm were second. Didn’t really care for the meatball which is usually my fave. Meatballs were skimpy and dry. Some complaints. It was hot in there on a not so hot night. They had one fan going but could use some more. Or get a seat closer to the Windows. Only their own brand of beer on draft. Which was just ok. San Diego is a beer city so I have high expectations. Finally very noisy. It was hard to talk. Other than those 3 things, I would have given it 5 stars.

First of all, urbn and basic have some of the greatest pizza in San Diego, and this location is terrific. The pizza is coal fired, thin crust, fresh, homemade toppings. The crust is a perfection of a great crunch but not too crispy. My husband likes a traditional pizza with sausage and pepperoni. He can eat this pizza 5 nights a week. The salads are very generous and filling. I’ve enjoyed the chopped Italian as a meal, or order one and share it with a group from 2 – 4 as an appetizer. They also have gluten free pizza. My favorite is the«mashed potato» pizza with a side of ranch. Might sound strange but it’s worth trying, you won’t regret it. I give zero stars to the city of Encinitas and five stars URBN… last time we were there they had to close their windows due to city regulations with the windows being open while having an open kitchen. Hope they get it worked out soon because there was no AC inside and it was stuffy and warm.

Hands down the best pizza ever — I don’t even waste my time(and calories) on any other place when I have a pizza craving. My husband and I have been to the north park location several times and are thrilled that they opened a location up here near our house(woohoo!) we started off with the URBN salad, which is always a total delight — love love love the walnut brittle! We then shared 2 small pizzas — the Polpetta Con Provolone(his favorite) and the Fresh Pesto Chicken(my favorite). Both were cooked to Perfection and we practically licked our plates! Service was a not the best(we never got our waters refilled) but the food is worth it so we didn’t really care haha if you crave pizza, run(don’t walk!) here! Trust me, go now!

URBN has always been my favorite San Diego thin crust based pizza place and I’m so pleased they opened a location in North County coastal. The Vista and North Park locations are both great too, but the Encinitas location is more convenient for me :) The location is small, but tables turnover pretty quickly as there really isn’t a reason to hang out at this location as there is no TV and only a small bar area, But this is a good thing for efficiently getting you that pizza you crave. Pizzas are the reasons you go here, but their URBN salad is quite fantastic with sliced pears, candied nuts, and gorgonzola cheese, and a tasty dressing. The salad is good for sharing while waiting for your pie to cook. NOTE: The build your own Red Pizza with Mozz is my favorite base and it is quite different than the Margherita pizza with fresh Mozz and basil. I suggest adding your toppings to red+Mozz. The crust comes out crisp but chewy and very flavorful in the coal fired tradition. I haven’t tried a calzone but intend to in the future. They serve rotating taps from URBN street brewing and they also have several craft bottle beer choices as well as wine. Staff here are friendly and efficient. Been here twice now and both times the quality has been top notch. Here’s to many happy returns.
