The spicy sausage reminded me of my grandparents recipe from southern France. The ambience and food, and even prices were perfect. Also, get the pear bubbly, it was very soothing and refreshing on these hot days!

It would be five stars except for the wait. Alicia has elevated the sandwich to an art form. Great local spot. Hard to find, hard to park

Best breakfast place we hit during recent trip to the San Diego area. Set back from the street but with ample parking. Think we hit them after the pre-work crowd left and the slackers came in later. Slackers being those who sit around in Starbucks all day«working» on their laptops. Someone has given quite a bit of thought to the breakfast menu. Not sure I was so fond of the eggy layer in my breakfast sandwich. Why not just use an over-easy or over-hard fried egg? Will definitely seek out next time we’re in the area.

Tucked away beside a parking lot in Solana Beach is the lockwood table café. I haf the chance to get there by lunchtime, so I was in luck because im normally not a breakfast person. There wasn’t really anyone there when I went, so I had most of the place to myself. I ordered the«Skyline» flatbread, which was just a flatbread with diffrent cheeses on it. Also came with a side salad with some very yummy dressing. The thing yhat threw me off is that my glass was dirty. Um, no. Minus one star for that. I also got some yummy granola dessert for checking in, which was a plus.

Got a vanilla iced coffee, the price was right, and the coffee was great! It’s more of a sit down café, so it’s kind of an awkward place just to pickup a coffee to go, but I can say that the food looks delicious. Might have to come back for breakfast or lunch one day.

Amazing food great service. Sever Alisha(unsure of spelling) is amazing. I came here once before many months ago and she remembered. Very warm friendly environment. Small place kinda of tucked away in a corner but totally worth it. Allows dogs in the outside dining area and close to the beach. Fresh squeezed orange juice is amazing as well. Try this place out if your looking for a tasty and fresh meal

What a lovely hidden gem tucked away in the Design District of Solana Beach. Walnut butter is there signature treat and I highly recommend. Food is healthy and of high quality. The quaint outdoor patio is so relaxing. Staff and owner couldn’t have been friendlier. Bonus: I was going to purchase a dessert and the owner told me to check in on Unilocal for a free dessert. She even encouraged my husband to check in on his phone and we would get 2 free desserts. We only got one, but she was so generous and sweet to offer!

Almost no wait for brunch, a healthy and outstanding menu, and an incredible value for the price. Go now before the secret gets out! This is a tremendous restaurant and a hidden gem in Solana Beach.

What a great brunch spot! I stopped by on the way to San Diego, for a light breakfast. After browsing the menu, I knew I had to try their walnut butter! Everyone raves about it, and it lived up to my expectations. Super creamy, served with toasted multigrain bread and a cup of strawberries. I drizzled some honey on top for an added sweetness! My bf and I also shared the local roll, which is like a breakfast wrap, with baked eggs, turkey and avocado. The baked eggs were nice and fluffy and we loved it! You can really taste the freshness of their ingredients, and the price point and service was amazing! P. S. Check in for a free dessert! We got a raspberry oatmeal bar that was really yummy!

Absolutely incredible meal. Popped into Solana Beach for a quick pick me up and could not have been happier with the service and food at Lockwood Table. We ordered the bacon and gouda soufflé and the walnut butter toast with strawberries. Perfect assortment of food! Not only was the food great, but the waitress was so kind, warm, and welcoming. We even forgot the acai bar that we got free for the Unilocal check in and when we went back to get it a bit later they gave us an entirely new one. Thank you for your wonderful service. Will definitely be back soon!

This place is great. Awesome service, comfortable atmosphere, EXCELLENT prices, handcrafted food, healthy yet satisfying, and very unique. I really enjoyed my experience here even their drinks are healthy/tasty. I got a breakfast wrap and it was SO filling and tasty but I didn’t feel guilty money-wise or waist-wise afterwards lol. Keep it up guys.

Unilocalers give this place 4.5 stars and I believe it is exactly that! Unfortunately, I am rounding down to to some tiny service issues. Tucked away in the Design District of Solana Beach, you walk up to the cutest outdoor area with canvas coverings draping from the building to cover the patio and wooden tables and chairs with festive accent pillows. The only missing on this outdoor patio is heaters, it’s May in SD at brunch time– the May Haze hasn’t burned off yet… it’s cold enough for outdoor heaters! *They do have an small indoor space with tables, but they were all taken. We sat on the upper level of the patio and ordered coffee while we browsed Unilocal.Because let’s be honest, I order from Unilocal– not the menu. Walnut Butter *served with multi-grain bread, honey and strawberries. Bacon + Gouda Egg Soufflé *served with a few potatoes, multi-grain toast, jam, yogurt and strawberries. The walnut butter plate is incredible– YOUNEEDIT! The actual walnut butter itself is amazing, so good we bought tubs to take back home to the OC. Paired with the honey and strawberries… it is perfection! The egg soufflé, while quite impressive in presentation and size, feel flat for me. It can be shared by at least 2 people, possibly even 3. It’s HUGE and super fluffy! The flavor wasn’t there for me after having so much palette dancing with the walnut butter. Although, I can see how people would love this dish– it just wasn’t my jam. The prices here are super reasonable for what you get– the value of this cute place is definitely high. They are lacking a bit in the service department. I am not sure if they use a french press or a chem-x for the coffee, but when it arrived the entire white cup had semi-dried coffee all over it and at certain times of the brunch, it took a long time to get a refill. Also, as we already had toast with our walnut butter plate– they refused to make any substitutions for the toast with the egg soufflé.#carbcity I would come back just for the walnut butter plate and that alone gave them the extra star bump between 3 and 4 for me!

While in Solana beach, I was looking for a place to eat breakfast and lunch. This hidden gem had the perfect combination of both. Fresh ingredients and unique dishes like the egg, turkey, Gueyere cheese wrap with avocado and black beans. We also had home made Humus with tiasted whole grain bread. They also have a «green» drink that is refreshing.

Wow, the food is out of this world! And my kids love it too which is a plus! The only reason I gave four stars is that because it is so busy and well loved, it can be almost impossible to get a seat, and you feel a bit rushed during peak hours. I guess this is to be expected when it’s brunch course on the weekend, and it’s a smaller place. They need to move to a larger location! The walnut spread is to die for, and we always buy a jar when we go there. My son has a mild allergy to peanuts, so this is such a nice alternative for us. Definitely worth checking out.

First, I walked up ready to get a seat for little ‘ol me and instead of a hostess there was a sign in sheet. Strangely enough, I was waiting behind two other small groups and as I waited, a hoard of people came after me. The waitress that was serving saw all of us standing around after she had cleared a few tables and then never walked over to greet us or even smile our way. It wasn’t until she finally came over(about 15 minutes later) that she noticed I was waiting alone. Yep. 1 top. She brought me in and directed me to my table and then walked away. She didn’t leave me a menu or offer anything. I sat for at least 5 minutes, just watching the staff as they didn’t notice me. Finally an other waiter noticed I didn’t have a menu and brought me one. And brought me water. After I had decided what I wanted, I took a quick restroom break… which was not a good experience. The place looked like they hadn’t cleaned in days(it was 10am and the trashcan was overflowing with used paper towels. TP was thrown around the room and the mirror wasn’t clean. Then when I came out of the restroom… my table was cleared and pushed up against an other one like they forgot I was sitting there! Uhhmm hello? So I took it upon myself to move the table back. The waitress looked my direction, puzzled. I mouthed to her«I was already seated here.» and she immediately started trying to figure out the seating situation with someone else. She didn’t even apologize. At this point, I still wanted to try this walnut butter and toast situation so I hung out… but I could also see into the kitchen from my table… or what appeared to be the entry into the kitchen. It was a mess with dirty towels through over cardboard boxes, stacked high and dirty water on the tile floor. After I ate(which yes, the walnut butter and toast was divine,) I asked for a to go box because I only ate half. I also asked for some extra strawberries. Someone else brought me my check and I had paid. I sat there, waiting for a box… nothing. Eventually I saw the guy walking around and I had to wave him down. «my to-go box??» He said«Oh!» immediately turned and asked someone behind the counter for a box. He brought it over to me and then walked away, not asking if I needed anything else… or my strawberries. Again, I had to wave him down after the finally re-appeared for my strawberries, which I finally got. Honestly after all that, maybe i’d stop in to grab some walnut butter and toast to go… but I wouldn’t like sitting down here ever again.

The food — 5 stars. The service — 5 stars The seating — 5 strs. This place is great. I could see how it would get packed and slammed and not be a whole Lotta fun, but if you catch it at the right time it’s heavenly!

Fresh! Kiiiinda pricey but I guess it is Solana Beach… I got a veggie sandwich and it was a little dry. I felt like it needed some mayo or something. We thought one of the servers had said that he was going to get us some sauces but he never came back… eh. Not the best sandwich but not the worst. Fresh and simple are my go-to descriptors. We also got the free dessert with check-in which was some kind of a fruit crumble bar. It tasted healthy…

Lockwood is such a special place! The food is absolutely amazing. We love coming here for breakfast although lunch is pretty amazing too. The service is spot on and the food is prepared to perfection. On the weekends they have egg soufflé which is incredible. I love that you get muffins before your meal. My husband absolutely loves them. The coffee is excellent as well. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Everything is fresh and delicious. Our favs… The Drive Egg soufflé The lunch specials are always great

Come here for breakfast or brunch and order their egg souffles! I promises you that you will leave happy and satisfied. Café is small and it gets pretty busy on the weekends, majority of the seating is outside which can be a bit cool in the winter month, but perfect for the rest of the year. The menu has lots of healthy choices for breakfast and lunch. I usually come by for brunch and order the baked egg souffles, for $ 8 you will get a 4-egg soufflé(there are 3 different kinds of choose from) with a side of potatoes and toast. Plus, a side of yogurt with fresh fruit and jam. and it continues… complementary fresh muffins. This meal can give your energy for the entire day! Incredibly delicious and its one fantastic deal! A side note, you can order these items only on the weekend. From the lunch choices, i only have tried so far their daily special — quinoa bowl with avocado and tuna — fresh, tasty, filling and healthy. Unilocal check-in gets you a yummy acai bar!

Nice quaint café situated in a corner of the shopping complex Cedros District of Solana Beach. Ample parking and several cute stores surrounding the café. Nice cozy outdoor seating — there were some flies but easily fixed if they light candles. The indoor seating was a bit too hot and stuffy during our visit. Those were the only 2 negatives with this café that I found. Let’s get on with food review… I had the smoked salmon which came with tomatoes, red onion, whole grain toasts, cream cheese and capers. The smoke salmon was perfectly cured. I prefer eating it with just the cream cheese and capers on the toast. Added a bit of their pesto sauce and it was that much more delicious! My hubby ordered the Rancho which had eggs, spinach and bacon. By the way he devoured the sandwich, I can only guess it was great! Lol. Definitely will come back on the weekend to try the spinach, feta and tomatoes egg soufflé. Don’t forget to check in to get a free acai bar!
