Yummy variety of wines plus comfy tasting room equaled one very impressive visit to Dascomb Cellars Not knowing anything about the plethora of wineries found in downtown Solvang, Dascomb had comfy couches & chairs & a nice fireplace so we took a chance & came on inside Sharing one tasting quickly grew to ordering additional, individual glasses & moving over to the fireplace to further enjoy the afternoon What really sent over the top was their cheese pairing — each wine was paired w/a particular cheese that they just so happen to sell… we could not resist! In addition to bottles of just about everyhting we tried, we also grabbed: Prima Donna(aged Gouda) & Le Delice De Bourgogne were our fav cheeses Overall, this is a place we would seek out & deem a destination place. Huge 5-Stars!

Stopped in Dascomb tasting room in Solvang as I was unfamiliar with the Winery and I prefer smaller Winery’s that are hard to find in wine shops or don’t have large distribution. Location is great in the middle of downtown Solvang, it was a clear sunny day, the doors were open and the entrance was inviting. We were greeted and helped by Trina who despite being a part of Dascomb for a short time, did a fantastic job of talking about the different wines they offer and providing the cheese parings for each. They are well known for the Sangiovese and it is superb! We found a few others, Syrah and Meritage that were pleasing as well. It was good enough for me to sign up for the wine club. a commitment of 3 bottles every 3 months and a minimum of 6 deliveries plus a lot of other benefits. The wine is well worth the trip and the wine club isn’t a huge commitment. Met a number of people as we were tasting, many returning for wines or cheeses. Ended up meeting Nate as well and he was as great as everyone says. Great atmosphere, great people and great wine. I would definitely make this one a stop on wine trips to the area.

Loved all of the wines on their tasting list… and get this… they give you the cheese pairing to taste with each wine! *** Sangiovese, BEST *** The staff was beyond friendly, the atmosphere was totally comfortable. My favorite tasting room by far in Solvang. You have to try it. It’s open later than most of the other tasting rooms, btw. Another win.

We have been members of dascomb over the last 4 years… Nate has been employed here throughout our 4 years of membership. He has always been so personable and knowledgable in the wines offered at dascomb. We look forward to each wine visit, tasting and experience and highly recommend Nate when visiting dascomb.

In a town full of wine tasting, Dascomb Cellars stands out. It’s our favorite for sure. The quaint, corner location has some nice seating areas where you can relax while you taste fantastic wines and CHEESES! Oh, we love their cheeses and always buy some. The employees are super nice and the dog makes it feel like a family owned, relaxing place. 5 stars!

From the 10+ places we wine tasted in Solvang and Santa Barbara, Dascomb was the best. Every single red and white wine on the flights were phenomenal. My top two favorites were the Sangiovese and Syrah. Even though some of the bottles are a bit pricey, I couldn’t leave without gifting one for my uncle’s birthday. A connoisseur of wines, I KNOW that he’s going to express interest in Dascomb once he tries it. That’s how much confidence I have in this cellar’s wine making. Nate was a fantastic host. He knew which wines paired best with certain cheeses and even threw in a couple chocolate pieces. We ended up buying chocolate and cheese(fantastic cheese, btw) because those were the best served to us on the trip. In fact, other than 1 – 2 other wine tasting rooms, the others(sadly) didn’t even offer us anything unless we asked. It made us feel awkward afterwards. For something so basic you’d figure it’d be a given, right? The tasting room is very cozy, while the bar has a feel of comfortable sophistication. How so? Nate makes you feel at home; a textbook of information handed to your sense of hearing while the other four are accompanied by a glass of Chardonnay and chocolate. Dascomb fulfills all five senses and in return, five stars.

The wines here are fantastic! The port is on another level. Nate was extremely accommodating and welcoming and made the experience that much better. If you ever find yourself in Solvang, definitely make your way to Dascomb winery! You’ll inevitability walk away with at least one bottle.

Definitely the best wine tasting room we went to today. Nick was our server and he was the best. This guy was knowledgeable and taught us a few things as he served wine and cheese. We are coming and back for the great wine and chill atmosphere.

My very first wine-tasting experience and I loved it! My boyfriend and I were strolling through the streets of Solvang, happened to walk into Dascomb Cellars, and thought, why not? For only $ 10, we tried 7 different types of wine accompanied by a complementary piece of cheese. Our host was gracious and entertaining, the air-conditioned room had comfortable furniture, and the last wine(2005 Vintage Port) was the best I’ve ever had– wish I could have it with dinner every night!

Delicious wines. We came here for a tasting and were surprised that we also were given cheese pairings. What a surprise! Nice staff, good wines; worth a visit.

It’s convenient to become a club member in order to get an average of $ 6 of discount over each bottle’s price. Carol is a bit cheap with her pouring(compared with other wine tasting rooms as Sort Out This cellar), but know well the descriptions of taste and after taste of each of their wine. I prefer to have Nate as a host. They pair with tiny pieces of cheese the wine tasting. Tip: I got some Lindt Chilli chocolate at the ice cream parlor and paired it with the Syrah and was great! Their rosé is not on the tasting menu, but is worth to try on any given Summer day, with 60% of Cabernet and 40% of Sangiovese. Anyhow, if you prefer a white wine, the 2012 Roussanne has a great tropical fruity taste, fresher than the too sweet 2013 Viognier. I found the Pinot Noir pretty average. The Sangiovese has a softer nose than taste, which is on the acidic side. The 2012 Syrah is peppery and strong bodied. The berries aftertaste make it a great companion for dark meat meals. Also, it was delicious paired wit dark chocolate. The best of the chart in my opinion is the 2011 Meritage, with its berry– cherry– smokey– oaky nose and taste pairs deliciously with the blue cheese(roquefort) offered. It’s one of the most expensive wine in their menu, as a bottle and by the glass. The 2011 Meritage works great as an elegant dessert wine. Love the vanilla notes. Finally, the 2004 Vintage Port, 100% syrah. They preserved the right for the name and are very proud of it, showing that in a extremely chocolate-y dessert wine, with hits of cherry. Curiously, not as sweet as expected. Great with chocolate too.

Highly recommend to join a wine club! The Wine club membership is to get benefits to subscribe 12 bottles of wine for a year. You can receive 3 bottles of wine every quarter or 6 bottles of wine for twice a year. Then, You can enjoy and invite your friends for wine tasting without extra charge; that is, you don’t have to pay anything for wine tasting whenever you visit here. you can get 12 bottles of wine to home with no shipping fee. The price of 3 bottles of wine is about $ 75. Isn’t it a good deal?

Absolutely wonderful!! I know the central coast has heaps of wineries but you MUST pay a visit to this one. I’ve been to many wineries in Paso Robles, Los Olivos and SLO but the quality and taste of the wine has yet to compare to Dascomb. You’d never guess that a small nook in Solvang would be hiding the best Pinot Noir, Grenache and Sangiovese on the central coast but ITIS! Every wine is smooth and heavenly. My boyfriend has been a member for a few years now and each shipment is like Christmas Day joy! EVERY wine they have is delicious! I’ve never been to another winery where I like every single thing I taste. The owner and everyone who works there is a delight to be around. They are very knowledgeable and make the experience special each time. Dascomb is an extraordinary winery. Go have a taste and you will not be disappointed! Cheers!

Such a great vibe at this place. Our server Carol was very sweet and gave us cheeses to go along with our wines. There was a live singer/guitar player as well which really set this place apart. My bf liked the Sangiovese and I loved the Viognier. Will definitely be returning the next time I am in town.

So we came to this location as a recommendation from our last wine tasting spot. They said that Dascomb pairs their wines with chocolates and cheese. So being a lover of chocolates cheese and wine we figured that we had to visit this place. We were slightly disappointed to find out that they no longer offer the chocolate and cheese pairings BUT they did however offer great recommendations on how to pair. The wine attendant was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful in educating us about the variety of grapes that we were trying. We ended up leaving with a bottle of their award winning Sangiovese and seriously considering joining their wine club. Can’t wait to come back and learn some more.

Excellent wines, comfortable tasting room with chairs and a couch, and a gracious host, Nate. I appreciate that their Syrah was not as smoky as some others in the area but would still be a perfect pairing with a bbq meal. Great experience; highly recommend stopping in!

Very good whites. Got a bottle of the 2012 Chardonnay and two of Viognier. Their wine is definitely mature, with rich flavor. But if you also go for the ambiance, this tasting room is cozy, airy and inviting. You can sit at the bar and chat with the gents serving you or settle in one of the couches and spend your time, slowly enjoying the local grapes and your company.

I wish this had been my first stop of the day instead of Lion’s Peak. The wine here was wonderful! I liked every single one, including a Merlot which is extremely rare. Our server, Andy was absolutely wonderful! He was very knowledgable about the wines, the grapes, the processing and even the delicious cheeses they serve! WOW! We grabbed a few bottles for the road and left Solvang feeling extremely satisfied. I will definitely be coming back next time! Thanks Andy for laughing at my jokes and being so informative. I learned quite a few new things! :)

Anne-Marie and her husband(?) gave us great service even though only 2 of us(out of 4) wine tasted. They understood that some of us were exhausted from wine tasting all day long… plus my asian glow probably gave it away. We showed up 45 minutes before it closed and were lucky enough to snag 2 couches where it had the«reserved» sign. Both checked up on us often even when the room started to get crowded. : WINE : I don’t know too much about wine but I do remember enjoying their reds. Especially the one with a side of raspberry chocolate. : CHEESE : We almost got the first one on the list which mentioned«ice-cream-like» texture… but we decided not to get it because we remembered that we had dinner reservation right after this. We did get to sample a few cheese :) The mouse logo is SOCUTE! PRO: — they stay open a little longer than the other wine bars in solvang — gourmet cheese — great service — COMFYCOUCHES, the ambience reminded me of my favorite hole-in-the-wall wine lounge in Torrance. — they weren’t snobby
