Stopped in here in the midst of running errands for mom. I can always find something on a buffet, right? With a sizable Asian population in the area, one would think there would be a nice choice of authentic dishes, but alas, just a few. Whole fried smelts, fried shrimp, string beans with pickled cabbage, and rib pieces with potato were among the entrees. Overall, the choices were too heavily weighted on fried items. My biggest complaint is that everything I sampled was cold(when it wasn’t supposed to be.) The hot and sour soup was thick, gloopy, and lacked flavor. Extra charge for green tea — which I don’t necessarily object to — but a single tea bag in a quart of water does not a pot of tea make. The women’s room smelled terrible. Two stars because the fried smelts and fried shrimp would have been great if they were hot and fresh, but I’m being generous here. My heart sinks when I feel compelled to assign one or two stars to an establishment. I hope they read the reviews and respond with some improvements. The sign on the outside of the restaurant reads«China Buffet» but my map program indicates that this restaurant is the place listed as Kam Garden in the Unilocal database.

I didnt feel like driving to my normal place so let me go to the local stop that is always busy. Why is this busy I have no idea. I ordered simple things to try and see how it was. The spring roll was okay, nothing special. The wonton soup is tasteless and the dumplings had almost no pork in them, might as well have been a plain dumpling. The spare ribs were drenched in a sauce that was so sweet it was almost inedible. I wiped the sauce off with paper towels and then they were okay, not great but okay. The noodles they gave me were stale. I asked for more duck sauce(not knowing the spare ribs would be swimming in sauce) and it was like pulling teeth to get one more so 3 in total. I will not be returning or giving another try, next time I will either drive to House of Wong in Bridgewater or get something other than Chinese. Not worth the calories

Wow this place was AWFUL!!! Not many choices, food seemed as though it had been sitting out for a while, and to echo other reviewers we came in at 7:30 and although it closed at 9:30, at least half of the pans were empty, with no hopes of being refilled. We were very close to walking out but decided to stay(big mistake)! Food was cold and flavorless. This place might has well close down. Should have been a red flag that there were NO other customers in their restaurant at dinner time on a Saturday night. My boyfriend barely ate and it was about $ 25 dollars for both of us. For the atrocity that was served to us we shouldn’t have even paid! Please dont go here if you’re looking for anything close to a decent meal!!!

This Chinese buffet is awesome. Haters gonna hate. I’ve never had an issue with anything in the other reviews. They also just did new renovations and such so now it’s even better. 5STAR!

Dirty and not good, but my grandma likes their buffet. She likes the shrimp and spare ribs. I would have given it a 1 star except for the fact my grandma likes it. It’s just a lot of food and nothing special.

I would like to give –1 star to this restaurant! $ 14 buffer with no seafood, no sushi, even fruit they don’t have banana! They only provide a few food, and!!! most of them taste so bad! I prefer pay $ 14 to homeless people rather than this restaurant

I would give 2.5 stars. Very average food. They don’t refill the trays quickly, not do they offer any sushi. Some items don’t look appetizing, others are average Chinese. The cheap lunch prices is what brings us back each time.

Ok, So I went here with my cousin and her son. Boy, I was so embarrassed. The trays were almost empty and the food was old and looked like it was sitting for hours. White rice cooker was completely empty. They close at 9:30pm, I showed up at 7pm. There should be no reason why your holding back on the food, No crab legs, but I did check to make sure they didn’t charge me for it that night. Service was alright. Wasn’t the best I’ve seen before. They had like one type of sushi roll, which was a California roll. Ooh watch out. My little cousin, had very little to pick from. French fries were old, chicken nuggets were hard. I know how snotty Chinese people can get when you waste food. So I let her know the chicken nuggets were hard as a rock. She went right away and made fresh ones. By then, he lost his appetite avoid this place at all costs. there is much better china buffets to pick from, if you dont mind driving a little.

Every time I go there they have very little food in there pans!!! When some of there pans of food are empty they sure take there time to fill them about 1⁄3rd. So, when they have some people in there the pans sure empty fast!!. There crab legs are usually warm to cold, and 1⁄3 full. Last time I was there they didnt have crab legs that night, but they sure charged me the same price. When the pan of crab legs are empty(when they have them) it seems like they dont want to fill it up!!! That really sucks. A few times I asked them to turn up the heat so the food is warm to coldish. I remember when the place first opened it was a pretty good place to for a buffet. This place really went down the tubes!!! Now I go to other buffets places on RT18 in East Brunswick.

I arrived at 8:30 p.m.– the hours posted on the door state that the restaurant doesn’t close until 9:30, so I assumed there would be some food available– not so much. We were seated, and when we went to the buffet, there were barely any dishes available– most of the pans had one or two stray pieces of meat or a lonely broccoli spear. They were even out of WHITERICE!(really???) They did ask what we wanted, and offered to cook what we chose– but we really wanted a little bit of everything– that’s why we went to a buffet!

This will be my first and last review for this«restaurant». Now, I came in with a group of people and what they had for us were basically leftovers. We kindly asked if it would be possible to cook whatever they could, and who I presumed to be their chef got angry for suggesting so. I don’t see why they were so eager to accept our business when they refused to even provide any service. Only after an argument that was starting to get heated did they begin to cook. The staff is ill-mannered and the food is completely garbage for the price. You might as well buy junk food and stuff yourself with that. Don’t waste your time coming here.
