The manager of this store has been rude to me on several occasions. He remains behind the counter, and behind his phone and has only one word answers. I can get past that due to the proximity to my apartment, but the selection of wine is gross. Barely any of the white wines are chilled. The beer selection used to be good, but now there is only 65 different types of pumpkin beer and budlight.

Broadway in East Somerville has a handful of liquor stores, but I think this one’s the best. They have a great wine selection – especially if you’re looking for a decent but not-too-expensive bottle(like I usually am). They have all of the standard American stuff(Barefoot, Yellow Tale, etc) for really reasonable prices, and also a good selection of South American/African/Spanish/etc wines. I haven’t bought any beer or liquor here yet(something about the winter makes me crave a nice glass of red wine instead of a could beer…), but they have a good selection of microbreweries that my beer-drinking roommates definitely seem to approve of. The service is friendly. Chances are they’ll be a group of three or so guys hanging out by the cash register and speaking Spanish(last time I was there they were all working on cutting a melon open?).
