Ok I have become one of the easily bored. Blame our fast paced society or the constant inundation of information and stimulus if you like. What was once new & fun, dare I even say cool has become another part of the humdrum and monotonous state of existence. This Starbucks is as nice as any other with the same menu we have become accustomed to. Its not bad by any stretch of the imagination nor is it exemplary. Are we reverting to the way things were where we like, even seek out the experience and adventure of discovering small mom & pop establishments? I’ve been to this SB before and probably will return again. Their staff is the pleasant outgoing helpful sort we have grown to expect. SB to me has become a park bench, its great when you find one, when you need relief its familiar and safe but exciting or something to look forward to its not. Well at least they have free wifi.

I just left the shop and was over charged for a tea. I don’t care about the overcharge but when I tried telling this to the cashier he completely ignored me and wouldn’t even make eye contact. Unprofessional.

Awesome customer service! They are knowledgeable about what Starbucks has to offer. They are very polite and courteous. They have free wifi. The place was clean and organized. It has two entrances. My order was made right. It has a parking lot. Overall great experience!

Great Location with an amazingly consistent staff… They work quick, they maintain their composure and friendliness regardless of how busy it is and the locations is always clean and up to par… I frequent this location and they have not given me one reason not continue coming to this location … They make a great team!!!

FINALLY! I am definitely one of those defeated and disappointed Sbux fans, who has watched as the general service, speed, and quality of the Starbucks’ experience has tanked across the board over the past couple years in the Boston area. I even began to transition to Dunkin Donuts… yeah it’s been that bad. But, alas, I have found a Starbucks that lives up to everything you would and should expect from a visit to a company-self-proclaimed«third home.» The café on Somerville Avenue boasts smiling faces, rapid service, clean and welcoming environment, and a general happy feeling from the baristas. First of all, the store was STAFFED. I mean there were 5 people behind the counter moving the customers through the line. All with smiles and a sense of purpose. The other locations I visit usually have 2 or 3 people working with lines nearly out the door. The manager of this store clearly understands the business, and how to appropriately manage labor to the needs of the customers. Thank you Starbucks on Somerville Ave for redeeming my dwindling opinion of Starbucks as a company, and restoring an iota of loyalty.

I’ve been going here for years. Even though the staff has turned over a few times, they always seem to have great people behind the counter. Love these guys. The only ding I would make on the review is that since they remodeled there is not as much seating, even though there seems to be the floor space to add a couple of more small tables. There’s never a place to sit!

This starbucks is nice because it’s never too busy, there’s almost always a seat available, the baristas are nice, and there’s parking! I detracted a star because there have been many times in which I’ve had my drink made wrong or much worse than usual. The blonde haired, blue eyed lady barista always makes my drinks fabulously, so I guess it depends on who’s making the bevs. She’s super cute too. Nice eye candy while studying.

Nothing special here. Did not seem to be the cleanest either. But at least they had real mugs for my free drink.

This is the best Starbucks I’ve ever gone to. I go every week day on my way to work. It gets busy, but the baristas are all very competent and get it done. They know me by name and have my drink started before I even order it. I go to work an hour early just to hang out here before heading it.

First, this Starbucks is not the kind you want to do work in. Well, I never tried camping out here to work, but there aren’t that many tables/chairs that I’d just feel inconsiderate if I hogged real estate here for an inordinate amount of time. What I like about this Starbucks is the following: — Parking lot(ease of parking) — Very nice baristas(one of them kept messing up my order. messing up in the sense that he’d say«we’re out of matcha so I can’t make you your green tea frappucino(so then I order a Java Chip. and then he makes the Java Chip… and then all of a sudden…)… «oh wait we found matcha, you want the GTF?» and then I just say keep going with whatever you’re making for me and then I get a free drink card out of it because he forgot to have HIS coffee that day — Not as crowded because it’s far enough from Porter that no pedestrians in Cambridge will walk all the way here to get a coffee. This Starbucks is the kind of pick up and go Starbucks you’d find out in the suburbs, except it’s nestled between a gas station and a laundromat. The parking lot is kind of weird though, but I’ve never had trouble not finding a space here.

Coffee is delicious. Baristas are friendly and nice. No one bugs you if you hang out there for a while.

How do these people manage to be so damn cheery in the mornings? They must have the coffee coursing through their veins instead of blood. I like this Sbucks… it’s small and quaint, there’s a parking lot, free Wifi, and the baristas are annoyingly nice(I mean that in the sweetest way possible). I had to dock one star because I went in one day to get a Pumpkin Spice Latte, and they said they didn’t have it anymore, but it was still on the menu, which made me sad :-(My caramel latte was OK, but a poor substitute.

This is usually«our Starbucks» since it is so close to our home. However, I had an experience there today that has definitely turned me away for good. One of their regulars(I know this because he told my husband that he lives nearby and is there«all of the time», after my husband tried to defend my honor against this jackhole) verbally abused me in front of the entire establishment, including all of the employees, because I pointed out that he and his friend cut in line. When I asked the manager there why he was still being allowed to cozy up in a chair with free Wi-fi and a turkey sandwich, she said that her«powers are limited.» So, you can ask people to leave if they aren’t wearing shoes, but you can’t ask people to leave when they bully and harass other customers? Puzzling. Rest assured I won’t be back, but for any of you who frequent the establishment, he is a tall, husky man(ironic considering he kept telling me how«fat and miserable» I am) with a shaved head and a goatee. He was wearing camouflage(I’m sure he has spent lots of time in battle). Feel free to inform him of what a cruel, offensive ass he is. It would be much appreciated.

First things first THEREISFREEWI-FIHERE! I don’t know why people are saying there is not. Most of the best features of this Starbucks have been listed. There is indeed free parking(and more on the back side of the building), great service, and awesome baristas. Yoonie was correct about Alex — he is indeed the master. He also makes the best iced green tea lattes in the world; seriously I will not order them anywhere else. It is a little chilly but if you have high self-esteem(AHEM) bring a blanket… hell, pack a bag to stay the whole day because they definitely do not care. The baristas can be fun and distracting if you want them to be but are also excellent about respecting your need to work if that is why you were there. I just wish they stayed open until 11 or so. Hands down my FAVORITE thing about this Starbucks, though? I was just saved from a(albeit cute) stranger-man who would NOT leave me alone. He was friendly and non-threatening but clearly I was done with the conversation and he wasn’t taking the hint. As other reviewers have noted, the baristas here get to know you. My favorite barista managed to save me from the creeper by writing me a note in the language we both know JUST well-enough to communicate in … bonus points for being a language with a foreign alphabet. Incredible. Love it.

A cute lil starbucks(with a parking lot) in Somerville?! YES! It’s next to a laundramat that smelled like the freshest clothes which made me smile. Yet, there was someone in this starbucks who had vile BO(I do not think it could possibly be anyone that works there, because that is just offensive). It seems like this must be a lot of people’s «regular» starbucks. I was out on a walk one fine Saturday morning and the Davis Sq starbucks was too crowded for me, so I consulted my Unilocal app and lo and behold there was another starbucks just .5 miles away. Onward and upward! The baristas were nice, the one who took my order(dark hair, young, bespectacled boy) was very nice. I have to say, my tall no fat no water chai was one of the best tall no fat no water chais I’ve had to date. Been drinking them for years! I think I found my NEW«regular» starbucks since the davis one is just too damn crowded! Hip Hip Hoooraaay!

You would think that all Starbucks are the same. But at this location, I like that the baristas really try to get to know you and notice if you’re a regular and treat you like a valued customer — regular or newbies — alike. For stellar service, any of the baristas will do. For outstanding knowledge about coffee and joke-ful quibs, see Alex, the coffee master. Tables and their 2 loveseats tend to fill up quickly and early on weekends, but that’s ok, because I like sitting at their bar better anyway.

I go to this Starbucks almost every Friday while I’m at school. The employees are generally friendly but can seem a bit distracted, especially when a friend or co-worker comes in to talk. Make sure that you’re clear about your order and watch them write it down, I’ve seen a few mistakes and usually the order goes through 2 or 3 people before actually being made. The place is usually clean and the seating isn’t cramped. Since this store is small, there’s sometimes a bit of a wait, especially in the mornings, but the orders are made quickly. The store is located in a strip with a laundry mat, gas station, and subway among other stores, so you’re likely to find parking.

I haven’t been to starbucks for awhile(usually a dunks or 1369 girl) but i wandered in there this morning and was pleasantly surprised. the girls behind the counter were super friendly and there wasn’t a line. i believe i may have reopened a starbucks door — uh oh.
