I ordered delivery from Yoshi’s for lunch today. The lunch Sashimi box was reasonably-priced so I decided to give it a go. The food was delivered quite quickly, and everything was fresh and delicious! It came with so much more food than expected: a lovely variety. I will certainly be ordering again in the future.

It’s sushi and it’s in the area. There’s not much you can mess up when you order simple sushi rolls but they’re a bit pricey for the amount of rice they put on them. Ingredients aren’t the freshest but again, I’d still get sushi from them if I couldn’t go further out.

Delicious and beautiful sushi at a reasonable price. Came here for the first time on my birthday this year which they noticed from my ID and they brought me/us free dessert and a $ 10 gift certificate! So sweet of them. The atmosphere is nice too — cozy. I’ll certainly be back.

Ordered take out for lunch!!! It was delicious and arrived very quickly !!! Lots of food for very little money. Honestly was pretty shocked when I saw the portions! Will definitely be ordering from here again soon.

The staff here are really nice. Always smiling when you come in. I love their bim in bap. Good size and a good price. I haven’t really tried anything else but the place always has customers so it’s probably very good.

Got take out and ordered the Yoshi roll which is a «special rolls.» When I went home the roll is small, a mess and not appetizing. It suppose have mango in it, but maybe they were too lazy to put any in. Definitely not worth the $ 12

Yoshi’s food quality is always good. Was a bit let down by their smoked salmon and Inari sushi that wasn’t fully authentic. Service quality and portions were value for money though. Was pleasantly surprised to have broccoli as part of my tempura. Udon quality was good, as taste of broth was strong enough and had actually gone into part of the noodles.

Had this restaurant deliver an order of sushi, 4 different kinds and was super stoked to get it, their price is on the middle to high end. They gave me an hour projected wait time and I was pleased that it was actually delivered in that time frame within 5 mins, once it was here. I was very pleased with the quality the sushi roll was made. Very tight and didn’t fall apart. All my rolls tasted delicious and I especially want to point out the mango in some of them was perfect and ripe. Eating a lot of sushi you find they will put young unripe fruit and it’s almost sour, it was perfect though, I will definitely be going back to yoshis in the future!

I have a feeling the sushi quality is directly related to the day you dine, judging by the(surprisingly) glowing reviews of it. Went on a mid-week evening and the rice under the nigiri was flat out inedible. Like a gummy, pasty mush. Grocery store sushi rice is better prepared. and that’s me saying it’s all gross. That nasty. Might have been related to what seemed to be a kid in his twenties(aka no way he’s a trained sushi chef) making it behind the sushi bar. The fish looked like it’d been cut with a butter knife. My ikea knives cut better. Udon was meh and had really weird add-ins like green peppers and sauteed onions. Didn’t satisfy an udon craving for sure. Womp womp. Also worth noting that my friend pointed out that it seems the family running the place is Cantonese, and yet they serve Japanese and Korean cuisine. She thought that was interesting, and maybe related to peppers in the udon??? Should be noted: I’m not a college student, eat great sushi often, live locally, but hey maybe the apps and bentos are a college kid’s dream as they are cheap. Just my two cents here. I left here disappointed for what I thought I would be eating is all. Sigh… maybe one more try on a weekend night before I call it a no go for me.

Gotta love yoshis. Whether you eat there or get delivery, the bento box deal can’t be beat. Pretty chilled atmosphere in the restaurant.

Ive dined here a few times, gotten take out religiously, and the ambiance and service have potential. But when it comes to the food– it’s the best around for the price. They crank out high quality sushi and well executed dishes and charge a respectable amount. Their rolls are great, sushi and sashimi are generous quality cuts. Always fresh. Their delivery is the quickest and most reliable and their employees are always über friendly and courteous! Definitely the best and most consistent sushi take out ive had out of any metropolitan city ive lived!

Girlfriend and I have gotten sushi and other dishes through both delivery and dine-in a number of times from Yoshi’s. The food has always been good for us. For dine-in, it’s always been a great. The service is excellent. Attentive and happy going staff(much appreciated over some other nearby places). Atmosphere is pretty light, so easy to have a conversation. I’d recommend it for a casual lunch or dinner. Bonus, on our last visit they gave us free Moche ice cream with our bill. Not sure if that’s a normal routine or because they remembered us from our visit last week, but either way it was a very nice(and delicious) touch.

The food was fine but they played Katy Perry the entire time and it ruined the dining experience.

We’ve done take out from Yoshi’s a few times, and it’s always really good. The sushi is great, and the bento boxes are great value. Definitely worth checking out.

This sushi was beyond terrible; I literally spit out the first piece of two of the rolls. I ordered the volcano roll, red sox roll, somerville roll, and salmon nigiri. The salmon especially tasted funky. I requested no cucumber in my rolls, which they did not honor. The somerville roll was borderline alright. I’ll continue to stick with Taipei Tokyo, which is infinitely tastier and their fish is always flavorful and fresh. I’m sad to have spent $ 42 — !!! — on this terrible meal.

Sushi is relatively cheap, tasty(I haven’t had any too fishy cuts yet), and I get a tuft’s discount. Better than the stuff in Weymouth where I live. I haven’t tried anything else(and have no desire to really), but I don’t think that is a negative. I always pick up ‘to-go’ and eat at work/lab. Usually whatever their special sushi on the whiteboard is rocks.

I’m a fan forever because Yoshi’s turns up the volume when the Sox are in the playoffs, they let me sit at the sushi bar for up to two hours watching the game, and make really fun and filling makis. I like thinking of their makis as comfort food– big size, good crunch, flavorful. We’re not talking high-end Japanese here… we’re talking people who are trained to roll big. Why not have a place like this for sushi? It’s just the perfect place for late night cravings and an alternative to regular sports bars. I probably ate about three servings of the«amazing maki» special, which by the way is described as such from their menu: «spicy crunch tuna with tobiko and cucumber deep fried into a golden color and served with scallion and house special sauce.» The special sauce is super spicy!

My roommate and I order take out from here all the time. They normally come well within the delivery window, if not earlier, and the one time they were late(day after Juno and apparently no one wanted to continue eating all the food they stood in the grocery store line for hours for), they called me back to ensure the food was delivered and the order was correct. Their sushi is always fresh and quality. I love that you can add cucumber or avocado to any roll. My friend ordered the yakitori and said it was okay, definitely not as good as some other places. However, we all agreed that the sushi was lovely.

We’ve never gotten delivery and have only eat at Yoshi’s. Seems like most of their business is delivery, as we’re usually the only diners whenever we eat there. Their sushi is actually quite good. The menu boasts cheap, affordable, and generous serving-ed sushi and include both classic sushi and more elaborate rolls. The sashimi is surprisingly good quality as well. I’ll come in for their kickass lunch deals. BUT, don’t order ANYTHING besides sushi from their menu. I don’t trust restaurants that try to tackle a hodge podge of cuisines, and Yoshi’s is no exceptions. They have various Korean and Chinese dishes as well, but I would only get meals from their sushi bars and not their kitchen. We ordered chicken yakitori and it was so rubbery it squeaked when I chewed it. Seems like the kitchen reheated chicken and dumped goopy soy sauce on it. Questionable at best. Sushi = good Anything else = bad Also, I’m not sure if this place is BYOB, as they have a drinks menu.

We go to Yoshi’s probably more than we should. It’s now pretty much a Saturday lunchtime ritual and then no one eats for the rest of the day. We have a problem, we know this but… it’s so good. I am a creature of habit so I always order the Chicken Teriyaki Bento while my fiancé really likes the Pork Bulgogi Bento. We order the Vegetable Gyoza as an appetizer(fried, not steamed — I don’t know where it all ends up on him, but I’m guessing the fat molecules skip him, travel across the table, and I absorb them instead). The chicken is cut into small pieces and the sauce is delicious. The Bento also comes with some Tempura, a Gyoza, Sushi, and some salad with a delicious French dressing. We basically don’t eat until Sunday. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I can’t operate chopsticks to save my life so the waitress always gives me a fork.(I know, I know.) The bathroom always has Japanese Cherry Blossom soap in it(which I think is cute and I love that scent!). At Christmastime, we received a $ 5.00 Gift Certificate – whether it was for loyalty or because of the holiday we don’t know – which was a really lovely gesture. We ended-up using it when we brought the future in-laws there for lunch during Christmas Week. Yoshi’s is a real gem! Easy to walk up to from Davis or Teele Square. We live on Winter Hill so we sometimes walk, sometimes drive and then go for a loooong walk.

I had no idea I had such great sushi so close to Teele Square! Yoshi’s is not as first-date worthy as Genki Ya or as trendy as Ginger Exchange, but it has great high-quality sushi at competitive prices. The waitstaff was attentive and friendly. The lighting and décor is stark, but the restaurant is very clean and inviting. Davis, Teele and Powderhouse really benefit from this restaurant. So glad I found out about it!

I have never reviewed Yoshi’s?! Well, here we go: Nestled in Powderhouse Square, Yoshi’s is home to some creative sushi, albeit the typical sushi you are probably used to around here. I like their teriyaki bento box which comes with the salad you are used to with the french type dressing, six pieces of sashimi(if you choose that option), miso soup and rice. The servers are nice and I normally get delivery and they are fast. Kiss the fire maki and under control maki are too good options. The prices are reasonable. But I got mention the salmon sashimi… Twice now the salmon has smelled funky fishy to me. I know it’s fish but both times it smelled a bit off. So two stars it is.

Ordered delivery from here. I got the Dinner Bento Box with Sushi and Chicken Bulgogi. My wife got the Bi Bim Bap. Food came fast. The Bi Bim Bap tasted good… but contained TWOTWISTTIES. The sushi and chicken bulgogi tasted pretty good and were twist tie free. Won’t be ordering from Yoshi’s again. :-(

As an Asian, I feel like the reviews thus far are from a uniquely American perspective, and perhaps don’t really consider what truly good Sushi/Asian food in general, tastes like. While the food here is acceptable, there are still many places that are better in terms of quality and price. While the sushi here is okay, most of the hot dishes– especially the korean stuff and the noodle dishes– are sub par compared to what one can make on their own, or get elsewhere. The prices are not great here or anything. I think a lot of people especially at tufts are enamored by the fact that it’s the closest sushi joint to campus, but the reality is that it just isn’t that good. Service however was decent, Consider Snappy Sushi or Taipei Tokyo, both located in Davis Square
