Was intrigued by the rave reviews on the Thursday night $ 10 burger night. This place is exactly what I envision when I think of a «dive» bar. Enough said. No service at the tables. Get your drinks from the bar and take to your table. Order food at Bar and cook will deliver. Gal behind the bar not friendly, or unfriendly. Not welcoming or unwelcoming. Just there. She was okay. Cook smiled a bit so he seemed a little more warm and friendly. The WORST part was we all ordered the $ 10 Avocado burgers, thinking it was a burger with avocados on it. Nope. It was a fried avocado SANDWICH on a hamburger roll. Not a burger. No BEEF. Yeah… it wasn’t bad but not at all what we expected. Our fault for not looking at the menu more closely. Big disappointment overall. Would not recommend.

So I looked this place up on Google because I had driven by it a few times. Said its hours are 11am-5pm so I planned a girls day and told everyone to meet here at 1130. I get here a little early and it looks closed. I look it up again, says 11am on Google places. Then I go to their website and says 5pm is opening time! There was a number to call to make appointments for before 5pm so I called it. The number went to the next-door café, person on the phone was rude and basically told me it was closed and too bad, transferred me to the manager who told me the same thing. They didn’t offer to set up an appointment or anything. I just had 5 girls drive up here from the bay area so a little frustrating. Guess I won’t be trying this place out.

This place is great! One of the Best burgers I have had. I Have been here a few times now and each time is a great experience! The burgers on Thursday nights are so good! I don’t think I have ever came here and had a bad meal! The fire pit, the music, and also the great deals they have on dinner you can’t ask for more!

Nice outdoor setting. If you have your mind set on your wine it’s great to cozy up by the fire pit.

This could be an absolute 5 star place with 5 star food, 5 star wine, 5 star ambience and 5 star experience with one change … don’t let people smoke in the outdoor area. Even though it’s on the side, prevailing winds fill the outdoor area and it blows right in through the door to the inside space. Totally ruins what would be an awesome place. I went home reeking of smoke in my hair and my clothes and I didn’t even stay long! I would have stayed til closing if I hadn’t been subjected to second hand smoke. My hope is that this place will get smart and change their smoking policy or someone else will steal their idea and do it right, providing a place to enjoy good food, great wine and casual ambience without breathing second hand smoke!

My fiancé’s uncle was in a band that played here on Saturday night so we decided to stop by to see them. Its a great little place! There is tons of parking in the back. There is a wonderful outdoor patio in the front that has a neat firepit to relax by. Inside there is a central wine bar as well as a sitting area similar to a home living room. You have your choice of big tables, couches, or rocking chairs. They frequently have live music, which is fun. The servers were wonderful. I asked for a recommendation and was immediately given three different wines to sample. They were so welcoming and friendly. One thing to note is that this is a very dog friendly place. There were two sweet dogs behind the counter and more dogs that came in to visit. The rule is that if they are inside, they have to be on a leash, but dogs are welcome!

On a recent visit I stayed across the street from the Annex. First night went for the $ 10 chicken dinner. It was great. Stayed for music(Craig Corona) who sang a great mix of John Denver, Jim Croce, James Taylor, etc. that fit the evening perfectly. I ended up staying the evening enjoying the wine and music. I can’t wait to return to Sonoma just to visit the Annex again.

Terrible. I’m pretty sure the people giving this place high marks either work there or are friends. Very rude service(we were told they don’t do table service after being told to take a seat anywhere). I gladly went to the bar to get us drinks when the bar ‘lady’ yelled last call in my face(at 9:30pm on a Saturday). Please people, go to a liquor store or Safeway, buy a bottle of wine(the same stuff they’re selling here for twice as much) and enjoy it in the plaza for free.

How do I like The Annex? Yoooowoooooo is what I sing when Mommy pulls into the parking lot! A cool and quirky stop for wine tasting of boutique, family-owned wineries, from sparkling to big cabs. But my tail is still wagging… beer, live music(thank goodness my little brother Moose doesn’t dance, that would be embarrassing), and great food specials. AND did I say shopping? Hand made leashes, collars and doggie beds made out of a wine barrel. You can relax inside and watch sports, learn more about wine from the staff, or see Mommy beat Daddy at board games. Outside you can hang by the fireplace, sitting on wine barrel chairs. It’s on a busy street, but no one seems to care. Emily and her person, Margie, are super-sweet, I always get a treat.

Neither bar nor restaurant but something very awesome in between. Cozy intimate friendly welcoming place. Great unique wines and wonderful food. Music as well. A home away from home.

This place sucks. Horribly rude(male) server and an underwhelming wine list. Buy a bottle of wine at Sonoma Market and go to the plaza, don’t waste your time.

My numerous visits have me yearning to make a visit happen again, warm my body by the gorgeous fire pit, purchase a dog accessory of the best quality, and stare up at those stars. This is a place of real charm.

Stopped in one evening for a glass of wine and the bartender had me sample three before allowing me to make my final choice. The staff was wonderful and the atmosphere warm and terrific.

Yes I know I should be biased(I have photo’s on the walls) but truly would not write a review unless I felt it warranted it. Bruce and John the pourers, guides, winemakers, manager etc. have a gift of gab plus are very helpful with their knowledge of wine. The place is very comfortable and I get that they are partnered now with Jalisco taqueria so you can bring your food over for dinner and if your around for lunch the café will serve you in the Annex. Great place for wine and a chat.

Gaining a local following quickly, the Annex Winebar should also not be missed by Sonoma tourists. The unique wine flights are all handpicked California wines made in small quantities. Getting a pouring at this place also means getting an education on California wines. We even got a little extra lecture on the history of a true Vin Gris from a winemaker who works there. The setting is so warm, so casual and yet top notch enough for the tourists with beautiful patio seating. Indoors is an equally gorgeous area consisting of leather chairs and dining tables — so you can bring food in! And what’s not to love about a place you can go drink wine with your friends and dog for«yappy hour?»

Shared ownership with Community Café next door(hence the name). Take advantage of the 2-for-1 flight coupons handed out at the Café. We enjoyed a hearty breakfast and then lounged at the Annex. Dog friendly! Look for the resident dog Annie(?) most days. The premium fights were better. Tip: if the Community Café is busy, you can order and eat at the Annex! I’ll be back!
