The place is pretty good but I have had the you know what’s the last few times I have eaten here. That tells me something somewhere in their food prep process that something isn’t either kept cold enough or hot enough.

Thank goodness for this taco truck! We enjoy coming here for the tastiest tacos in Nor Cal. Get the carne aside, cabeza or the chicken quesadillas. No frills but always good.

Absolutely our go to taco shop here in Sonoma… we eat here at least once a week. The taco’s are cheap, fast, and very tasty. The lunch menu and that taco truck(at night) are quite a bit different… even what comes standard on the taco’s… and truthfully it seems like whoever is cooking at the time often just puts their own spin on it. but its fine cause it is always good. Also when you order at night they have the BEST green salsa. The salsa is actually legitimately spicy!!! So hard to find that… I love love love spice and this salsa delivers. the outside is open late.

This place is truly a hidden gem in Sonoma. After drinking so much wine and getting a little sick of cheese and wine plates I decided to come here after reading decent reviews about the Mexican food in Sonoma. When you walk into this place it looks a hole in the wall. They have a tiny space for indoor seating and they have outdoor stands where you can order. I’ve got to admit I was a little skeptical about this place after seeing the tiny interior and we were about to leave to try a different restaurant because we wanted more of the restaurant feel. But we decided to stay since we were so hungry and try the super wet burrito(vegetarian). It was absolutely fantastic and so life-changing. Everything about the food at this place was amazing. Even the chips and salsa they serve you in the beginning is extraordinary because the salsa is so fresh and tastes like they chopped up the tomatoes onions and jalapeños right then. They also have a large variety of a essential hot sauces that you need to ask for. The burrito was so good and just smothered with the best red and green sauces. even the beans were perfectly seasoned perfectly soft. The tortilla was moist and just so scrumptious. I also want to mention that it was a huge meal that we could only eat half of and it was only $ 8 each! The staff was also super friendly and gave us extra salsa and sauces. It was such a good meal and I plan to visit this place every time I’m in Sonoma!

Best taqueria in Sonoma period. This family puts love into every dish and it really shows. The grilled dishes, handmade tortillas and crazy good salsas are what dreams are made of!

Some times you just want a worn-jeans, easy going, casual, relaxed place that is what it is – NOT pretentious, NOT fancy, NOT a rushed and inattentive staff… just NICE, down-to-earth people, there to give you what you want — a good, basic meal at a very good price. Here you can relax and dig into your plate… enjoying the funky authenticity of this wonderful roadside meal house. Yum!

Maybe one of my favorite taco stands. Great food, prepared fresh, right in front of you on their outdoor open grill. Great presentation, great prices, friendly staff, good stuff! Note, it’s mostly outdoors, with a small sheltered space, too.

We had another great time in Sonoma at Jalisco tacos. We had passed by town for the bluegrass festival in Schellville. I ordered 6 carne asada tacos and a quesadilla plate. Their salsa is excellent. It’s too bad they do not always have the spicy cucumber radish pepper salad(not salsa). They say that they have it at night only. I wish this would be available to daytime customers.

When you’re tired of the local winery and expensive restaurants, you have to drop by Jalisco. You know this places is going to be awesome when you’re the only Asian guy there surrounded by local Mexicans. I dropped by Tortilleria Jalisco twice in three days. The lines are long at night. Took about 10 minutes to order and another 15 minutes to receive your food. Absolutely delicious tacos! $ 2 a taco. Asada, pastor, pollo, lengua, tripa, cabeza, tortas or quesadillas were offered. Get the cabeza! The spicy salsa was like fire in my mouth, I loved it! They closed at 10:30PM each night. Tons of parking. Go!

Great hole in the wall place off the highway — perfect for a casual lunch or evening snack. Service is a bit spotty, but the food is great. Awesome tacos at $ 2/taco and we had a nice sampling of chicken, pork and steak along with one of their specialty tacos. Great taste and flavor! Complimentary chips and salsa with orders over $ 10. Indoor and outdoor seating available.

This tiny taqueria was having a tough day when my boyfriend and so stopped in for lunch. Saw at least 2 other patrons either return or have food remade while we were there, though I do not know why. Staff seemed stressed(perhaps in relation to the above). I ordered 1 chicken and 1 steak soft tacos, my man ordered a pork torta sandwich. He quite liked his sandwich. My tacos were much too salty and spicy to the point where the flavor was lost. Red sauce was unimpressive(also very salty). Chips and salsa(free with orders over $ 10) were top notch — delicious, unsalted gruesos that tasted fresh and matched perfectly with the fresh, chunky tomato salsa. I doubt we’d go again as there are many other places to try in the area. May have been that this particular joint’s recipes aren’t up my alley.

Absolutely love their 2 $ tacos, a must have when visiting. Slow cooked steak makes all the difference with their burritos and tacos. I try to make an appearance at least once a week.

OMG! I’ve been searching for an authentic Mexican Taco joint since I got to the Bay Area(10 years). This place is it. Dude chopping up meats on the wooden stump. Plastic plates that get tacos dropped on them with stools right by the chopper guy, so you can order 4 tacos, then order 4 more. Selection of meats, including adobada or whatever you call that roasting slices of pig that’s slowly trimmed. I live in SF. The Mission district is all hype. This stand is MEXICAN and I love it. Not even Donald Trump could resist… That is if they’d serve him.

I usually stop by this taco place when I’m visiting friends in Sonoma. They take credit cards for orders of $ 10 or more(I never have cash), and the tacos are awesome. Really nice folks. I always order in Spanish, but have seen a few English speakers come in to order, so the staff are definitely multilingual. There are just a few tables, so sometimes I just get mine to go. They don’t list vegetarian as an option, but that’s what I always order for myself(the spouse gets meat). Now for the tacos. They are delicious. Very California — always with fresh onion and cilantro. The meat smells good and the veggie tacos come with beans and rice and spicy sauce. Hefty and good!

Tortilleria Jalisco is definitely one to ta-co about! That is… if your mouth ain’t burning from that hot sauce. The heat for their red salsa was so hot that it puts Nelly’s Hot In Here song to shame! For this taco stand on the Sonoma highway, I would have to say the tacos are pretty decent! They’re full of great spicy flavor and the tortillas they used were perfect! Oh yeah, I can’t forget about the Horchata. That cinnamon rice water drink is always my go-to drink if I’m feeling the Mexican craving that day. TJ’s horchata however, was more on the cinnamon side, but the rice water was enough not to make the cinnamon obnoxious in flavor. I also got a sample of my co-worker’s lengua quesidilla dipped in guacamole. Usually I strongly dislike lengua, but I’ll definitely make an exception for TJ’s! Tortilleria Jalisco is a hole-in-the-wall taco stand. My fellow Mexican co-workers rave how awesome the tacos and quesidilla are, and I would have to agree that they taste wonderful and convenient for one who is on the go to Sonoma. The only reason why I gave four stars instead of five is because of the difficult parking and the lack of seating indoors. I won’t lie, I like the outdoors, but your girl can get pretty chilly after 7:30PM. This is a great place to dine in if you want a taste of the casual Mexican lifestyle with picnic tables and little seating indoors, but if you like scenery, I suggest you pack your tacos to-go and plan a picnic somewhere in the beautiful Sonoma.

I’m back home in Seattle now, but craving Tortilleria Jalisco carne asada tacos!!! This place is nothing fancy, but with everything else in wine country being upscale, this was a nice reprieve. You can eat like a king for under $ 10 and not sacrifice taste. Great find! I’ll be back in 6-weeks!

This place is amazing — street tacos — best ever — you just have to go. It’s hard to find the right words but it’s as authentic as you can get — the salsa picante is the perfect amount of spice and the topping on the pork tacos was great. Meat was seasoned and cooked tenderly! Gp!

The only cheap, filling meal we found in town(though to be fair we didn’t look hard). They also didn’t look at us sideways for wearing our dress-up clothes(we had fancy plans after, but needed food in our gullet). We split a super burrito– it’s a knife and fork operation, as lots of juicy sauces & cheese are on top– and found it just the right amount of food. I found it spicy for my mild palate but I’d just make sure to clearly specify mild next time(and order an horchata to cool the tongue off just in case). This isn’t the best burrito ever in the world but it hit the spot for our needs. Only bummer: it’s right across the street from the El Pueblo Inn, but there’s no crosswalk nearby so you have to play frogger if you’re a hungry hotel guest trying to get a fast meal within walking distance.
