I love this place! The food is great and the servers are friendly and(usually) attentive. My only issue with the place is that I love the food so much, I almost always eat too much. Darn!

Outstanding, surprisingly authentic, tasty Mexican food in Sonoma! The service is prompt and professional. The portions are generous. But of course, the most important thing is that they make GREAT food. A beacon of terrific Mexican cuisine in the middle of Sonoma.

I’ve been curious about this place as I drive by it so often. It was ok, not great but not bad. One good thing is they are open all afternoon rather than close between lunch and dinner and this worked perfectly for us. My friend had a huge bowl of the tortilla soup — she liked it but thought it had too many tortillas in it — but still good. I had two tacos — carnitas and pastor. Reasonably priced at just $ 2.75 each — served taco truck style on two small flour tortillas each. The carnitas was quite good and I might try a whole meal of that here sometime. Both were nicely garnished with a pico de gallo, a little shredded lettuce and some lime. Quite good. Their tortilla chips are fresh and a nice change that they not only serve homemade salsa with them but also a nice little bowl of fresh refried beans — that was nice. The place is bright and cheery with brightly painted tables and chairs. Service was attentive and friendly. so while it wasn’t a «wow» experience, I will probably come back — especially for happy hour!

Super bummer. My favorite place Mexican place in town has disappointed me now two times in a row. This time they got my order wrong which I am fine with but when the waiter tells me that one of the two meals will be free(he said this in front of the manager) but then I am charged for both as the manager is the one who rings up my bill after giving me the second meal made correctly. It’s just nachos and giving me a promised free meal of nachos should not hurt them but apparently they cannot afford to correct their mistake and uphold their promise. Bummer man. Nachos are good but the manager is crap. Moving my business to Maya who also makes a good dish of nachos.

Visited Plaza Tequila 3 times, and each time service was terrible. Long wait to be seated, long wait before a waiter came around to take your order, order mistakes, and forget about checking in to see if you need anything mid meal. You always have to seek them out for service. My first time here, food was good. Admittedly, it is hard to screw up Fajitas. The last two visits were a disappointment. Had the Mole Chicken recently and it was terrible. Good Mole has amazing flavor, this was bland and flavorless. On the other meal, shrimp was over cooked and rubbery. Not sure they ever get it right. Will not be going back.

Great food! Horrible service! The waitress never came back to our table. The other waitresses ran her food to our table and never did they bother to ask if we wanted water or anything else. Our waitress kept walking around the whole restaurant as we tried to get her attention she ignored us

Good food, beautiful place, tasty micheladas. It is expensive, specially when you compare it to your regular Mexican restaurant, but once in a while it’s worth it. I will definitely go back again soon.

Best Mexican food in Sonoma, hands down. Their happy hour goes from 3 to 6PM. There Carnitas are like none other I’ve had before. They’re bean dip is awesome. Very friendly workers! Great carne asada, wonderful fish tacos… They really don’t have a bad recipe!

To the best of my knowledge, this is the only place in town that has outdoor seating that is NOT dog friendly. No one came to serve us for quite a bit and then a man came out and told us «no dogs». We were shocked, but it was a very cool day so we put our dog in the vehicle. Still no one came to help us. We left and spent our $ 80 at Taqueria La Hacienda… who welcomed our well behaved small dog.

Nice place, good food, great service. We tried the tacos al carbon which they came with guacamole and were very well served, we also tried the carnitas plate and they were delicious. Great margaritas on the rocks. Happy hour starts at 3pm.

I’ve been coming to plaza tequila for as long as I can even remember. It’s a fantastic establishment top to bottom. Huge full service bar, tons of variety on the menu, all partnered with incredibly friendly staff. It’s a must if you’re in Sonoma and you’re looking for good Mexican food.

If you come here, make sure to order anything that is labeled Diablo. Don’t let the name fool you, it is hot but it’s just right! The Prawns in the red Diablo sauce are the best in the county, and the only place you can get this spicy but very tasty dish. Their tequila bar is the best in Sonoma County, with high end, almost impossible to find tequila to moderately priced, high quality tequila. ENJOY!

Pretty good margaritas. Pretty good food. Don’t come here unless you like, or perhaps love… mushrooms. That’s right, mushrooms. Every dish I’ve ordered has contained mushrooms, even if it doesn’t list them as an ingredient on the menu. I’m tempted to order tacos al pastor just to see if they contain mushrooms. I like mushrooms. in stroganoff, but never expect them in. well most Mexican dishes. They taste ok, but are somewhat disconcerting in the dishes I’ve ordered here.

For drinks and snacks, this place is great. The margarita’s are wonderful and full sized. I enjoy the different flavors such as watermelon, peach and traditional lemon-lime.

They cook very well, their quality is excellent, our waitress was great, my «Dos Amigos» dish(scallops & prawns) was inventive and delicious with an unusual mushroom picante sauce. The organic margarita is excellent albeit a bit pricy. I don’t care about organic tequila but I do want real limes. Very tasty. Then everything fell apart… Men’s room had no paper towels so I question their preparedness before the dinner hour. This was at six, not later in the evening. Cost them a star. There were flies in the dining room. Yo no se quiero moscas! Cost them a second star. We will be back, but only for the food. Perhaps we will take out. When I invited a group for a luncheon this Wednesday, several complained that they have had recent bad experiences with the restaurant. I generally prefer regional Mexican(Sonoma has an outstanding Yucatán restaurant) but everything served at our table was great and some of the folks were not adventuresome(salads or plain carne asada). If only the cleanliness was as good as the food.

Guacamole: good. Salsas: good. Margaritas: good, but not served in the typical margarita glass. Did not matter to me. Frijoles were just ok, nothing to write home about. However, the tacos were fantastic: pescado, al pastor, pollo, carnita… And the décor is cheesy fun. We liked this place so much we came back the next nite for more. Thanks to our hotel clerk for the nice lead on this place. They have outdoor seating as well as ample space inside. The servers were friendly on both of our visits. Nice Mexican joint. Really liked the red salsa, and the tortilla chips were thin and salty, just like i like.
