I am basing my 5 star review off their«Morning Glory,» muffin which included carrots, raisins, apples and sunflower seeds. It was seriously the best muffin I’ve ever had! I really should have bought more for the road. There’s some nice outdoor picnic tables to sit on which is good for dog friendly breakfast/lunch. It’s a cozy, chill little dive with couches and interesting art. Definitely has a cool vibe and again that muffin… WOW!

Barking Dog Roasters gave me a rude awakening when i pulled into their parking lot. thought i «blew» or «popped» my front tire going over the rough edge(arched, not flat) of the driveway. was. driving slow so didn’t happen. eats: didn’t see any menus, just pastries, cookies, etc. drill: not sure where to order. no designated ordering area. barristas busy behind coffee apparatus. brew:(m.2.25) mocha java –semibold, smooth, perky drink. drips: –not sure where food listed at, reviews hint at it. –probably no return, parking lot not car friendly, wide turns needed to access, not sharp turns.

Excellent sandwiches and sides here! Especially the smoked baked beans, grab a full pint and you won’t be disappointed. We had the Dingo(pulled pork) and Retriever sandwiches. They each came with a delicious layer of home made coleslaw and a fresh baked bun. Cool atmosphere if a bit spartan(no condiments or napkins on the tables) but that seemed to go with the main function here: high end coffee service. Nice place, good food!

COFFEE. Drink coffee here if you work in the area. I prefer Starbucks in a pinch, 5-min down the road. I never eat a meal here when enroute between the wine valleys. I wait till I am in Sonoma where I get service and food with my coffees. I review the fine dining from the perspective of a local winemaker who eats out every week. This restaurant offers on Unilocal’s scale of 1 – 5 the following: price/quality #2 physical site #4 coffee #3 food #n/a wine #n/a service #1 and host #n/a. Why do I really coffe here infrequently? I sense something is wrong with … I prefer professional service, and breakfast with coffee. This restaurant has a wonderful location by the road but inside. ..

Great service, great muffin, great coffee. Our lattes were perfect, with thick foam and strong, tasty espresso.

Good coffee. Wish the staff was friendlier & cheerier. They seem put out when I ask for a drink. Sorry to bother you. Update: friendlier person helped me today. Will leave at 3 stars because wish they had Vegan friendly options(& no pulled pork or meats).

Love this little shoppe, will return for sure! Vibe is great… employees are super pleasant and helpful with smiles on their faces:) BLT: candied bacon, OMG! This sandwich was perfect… delicious in every way. Coffee: definite pick me up! Strong, but good! They also support veterans, police, fire and first responders… something that is very much appreciated in this day and age. You don’t have to… but thank you, for thanking us.

My new go-to coffee shop in town. I was told by one of the staff members that they serve bbq later in the day, so that means I might have to start going twice a day on some days! I don’t care that they’re across town from my office… it’s that good!

The staff was friendly and the barista attentive. I had a quad-shot latte which was at the proper temperature and prepared with care. The setting is what you would hope for.…slighting bohemian with a roaster in the corner. An enjoyable experience overall but not on the level of an ultra boutique shop like Blue Bottle, Stumptown or Intelligencia.

Stopped in for an iced coffee, but surprised that they don’t make cold brew… however the ice cubes are made of coffee! Wish more places would do that. Good flavor, not too weak or strong

Great coffee, tasty pastries, refreshing tea selection, and friendly service. I came here with my girlfriend as a stop on a road trip along the west coast, and this is one of the spots that made us wish we had stayed in Sonoma longer. I ordered a double shot of espresso and a morning glory muffin. The espresso was good, not the best(light crema; probably not ground or packed tight enough), but I’m a tough critic of espresso. The muffin is what had me sold. For the rest of our trip I sought out a muffin of comparable quality to no avail. I vow to one day return for the glorious morning muffin. My girlfriend got the Jasmine tea. She loved it. Personally I do not like Jasmine tea, but this one had a very different taste and I caught myself siphoning her tea cup while on the road. The shop has a very cute vibe and a great selection, definitely worth the visit.

Love their coffees. Especially love the iced Americano with ice cubes made of coffee. Makes for a perfect drink that is never diluted with water. So smart! My only complaint is that they aren’t the fastest to prepare drinks. But they are so good they are worth the wait! Also love their muffins.

Used to be depressing in here — dark — rundown — I don’t know how it happened must be new owners — it’s great! Great hang.

Driving thru Sonoma and stopped at Barking Dogs for an iced latte. It was probably the latte I’ve had in a long time and I love the espresso ice cubes.

There are many choices for coffee in Sonoma both corporate and privately owned. Barking Dog is the last choice. Mediocre coffee, baristas with poor attitude and no parking. With so many other choices skip this one.

Got a drip coffee here a while back. It was pretty tasty and flavorful however it took 10 minutes for the coffee to come out and on top of that it was already cold and my cup was only ¾ full. I guess I should have said something but after waiting so long I just decided to put up with it and be on my way.

Stop here if you are cruising through Sonoma and need a break. The Barking Dog Roasters is a special place because it’s not a franchise, and they provide what you need to get on the road in the morning. If not rushing off to be a responsible citizen, you can sit on comfy couches to enjoy your morning drink and excellent muffins or pastries on stoneware rather than paper. They have a nice selection of teas including herb teas. I especially like the passion peach. I’d love if they offered a protein option in addition to sinful desserts and pastries. A hard boiled egg with some prosciutto and a few bites of celery would call me in here more often. They offer wheat grass, cold and hot sandwich specials, and sides. I like the dill pickle. The cookies looked gorgeous. Once in a moment of weakness, I had a dark chocolate dipped coconut macaroon that made my week. This place consistently has a great vibe.
