Posted name isn’t Carniceria Chapala but rather Chapala Market … didn’t see an active meat department but wasn’t looking either. lots of typical mexican groceries, spices, beers, pastries no, taqueria no. large section of sodas, beers, micros(for a mexican market) drink: «jeremiah weed» roadhouse tea, 5.8%(2.49) –malt liquor with caramel and natural flavors. yep, not really a tea, more like a mini malt liquor. take outs: –nice place to grab a brew while getting take out from next door.

This is a great Mexican market. The store owners are extremely friendly and they have a great selection of goodies. A favorite thing is to buy some of their already marinated carne asada or al pastor to bring home, cook up in a cast iron skillet and make tacos. The price is great per pound and your kitchen will smell fantastic!

This is a great place to shop for Mexican goods. If you want something there it is more than likely they will have it. The store owners are very nice and friendly! It is located in a convenient shopping plaza. I often go there for their bakery goods and hard to find items. In addition, their meat, especially Carne Asada is well prepared and so delicious!

I love this place! Their Carne Asada is the best around! I haven’t tried any of their other meats because the Carne Asada is so good but it all looks fresh and varied. They have recently remodeled and added on a bunch of new products including a fresh salsa bar, and dairy case. The salsa is GREAT and priced well. The people who own it are super friendly, speak English and are happy to help you. It’s great to have a «store» on myside of town to run to when you need something quick. Try the Carne Asada! Its the BEST!!!

When I die, I want to come back as a Mexican. They have the good food, good beer, good parties, and good music. But until I’m magically reincarnated, Carniceria Chapala, my neighborhood bodega, let’s me get pretty close. Here’s what I like about Chapala in no particular order: the people that work there are super nice and don’t look at me like I’m La Migra because I’m a white girl. They have a varied, authentic meat counter with some good cuts for carne asada and milanesa. There’s tripe, too, but I’m not quite ready to get that authentic. Their house-made ceviche is awesome. I can pop in to get milk or a tomato or whatever other key ingredient I need without having to trek across town to a supermarket. This morning I needed a banana for my breakfast smoothie and I was back home in about 5 minutes round trip. It’s super cheap. They have a lot of spices. Did I mention the employees and owner are super nice and friendly? Since the first time I went in here, I’ve been back about once a week.
