The shop in it‘s previous location has closed but the Epicurean Connection is still in business. Sheana Davis is concentrating on her catering and her own cheeses and cheese education. Speaking of education, several friends took her cheese making class at Ramekins 2 weeks ago. It was casual, informative and we made a wonderful fresh cheese, which we enjoyed with some lovely wines. You go home with a recipe, cheese ladle cheesecloth and you are in business. Made it yesterday with some friends and had a ball. Going to make some the day before Thanksgiving with my nieces and nephews, it will be fun for them and we will have some great appetizers.

Came in on saturday, 9÷19÷15 around 730PM. Was not too busy but they were having live music(which was great!), a guy on guitar and another on saxophone singing all kinds of bluesy/folky songs. My wife ordered a chardonay and i had a brew from uncommon brewers. Both were great and their overall selection of beer and wine was good. Now the food, was phenomenal. We had their salad special which was fresh burrata and tomatoes over a bed of leafy greens. It was coated with just enough of an herb vinaigrette, sun-dried tomato pesto, and some delicious olive oil. We also got one of the cheese plates which was absolutely delicious. I cannot remember which one, but it had a goat milk asiago and a triple cream from sonoma county. The triple cream was out of this world. The cheese plate came with very good grilled bread, of which you can request more, along with some almonds and raisins/cranberries. Prices were very fair and quality was top notch. I did not catch our server/cook’s name, but he was extremely friendly and attentive. He seemed to be the only one working and did the work of 3! I would definitely return if in the area.

My favorite spot on the square! The food is insanely good, the wine and beer selection delightful, and the cheese is divine. The owner Sheana is a sweetheart and always takes amazing care of touring bands.

How can you go wrong; warm toasted bread, wine, and cheese plate. To top it all off the sounds of New Orleans Jazz music compliments the loving vibe of Epicurean!

When I walked into Epicurean Connection I felt at home. Relaxed, safe from the respite of the dive bars of Sonoma, and filled with good food, good music and good friends. The owner and chef, Sheana Davis, is there often. You can taste and buy her cheeses and«epicurean» delights with her guidance. They also stock high quality cheeses, beer/wine, and foodie products from throughout the area. Live music in the evenings most nights, often focused around Americana/Jazz/Country. It’s a welcoming place — whether you want to chill by yourself during the day with a sheep’s milk coffee(!!!) and a book, or hang out with friends in the evening with a tasso grilled cheese sammie and some great live music. Love this place.

What makes a cheese shop destination worthy? Is it the design, the selection, the employees? In a word, yes. All are essential in creating a memorable shop such as this. We described the types of cheese we like(in our case we enjoy fresh, mild, milky cheeses such as mozzarella and the bite of a sharp cheddar and a smooth, buttery, mild Monterey Jack, sweet and creamy blue cheese with subtle blue notes, sweet and nutty cheeses). We also told her the types of cheese we disliked: stinky, sticky cheese, blue cheese with earthy flavors. You need to provide some parameters to the cheesemonger as to what you like and do not like otherwise it is akin to going into a tire store and saying you need a round tire for your car. This will enable her to customize the appropriate cheese pairing for you. The cheese plate we were presented with included a(sweet as opposed to savory) blackberry-pomegranate spread and warm bread. We had a delightful time tasting the cheeses. Please stop in for a reasonably priced treat.

During a recent vacation in Sonoma, I had the pleasure of meeting Sheana at a local champagne bar. After chatting, she mentioned a cheese-making class and I thought it sounded like a fun and unusual activity for my vacation. I am so glad I decided to go! Not only is Sheana a delightful and charming hostess, she is also an excellent instructor. During the class the attendees had a chance to taste a number of artisan cheeses and sample some of Sonoma’s superb wine. More importantly, the class was informative and fun! The cheese Sheana made, a home-made ricotta, so tasty that I decided to try out the recipe once I returned home. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, and the cheese came out perfectly on my first try! I never thought of myself as a cheesemaker, but now I know just how much fun and how simple it can be to make homemade ricotta. The shop and café, just off the Sonoma Plaza, are also worth a visit. Great artisan selections and free live music. Definitely visit when you go to Sonoma, but if you have a chance to take one of Sheana’s classes then you must sign up. I will definitely visit on my next trip to Sonoma.

The finest quality food in a casual atmosphere that is reminiscent of a café in New Orleans. Add to that, music with no cover charge. Worth walking around the corner from the Sonoma Plaza for a tasty treat!

We had lunch here, was curious because of all the positive reviews. My sandwich tasted good, however, I found it to be too small for lunch and fairly expensive…

Kind of gross. The owner and the singer openly made fun of a woman who used the bathroom. It was really awkward. Hard to overlook the icky aspects of this place when the owner is hollering insults at someone for using the bathroom. Ruined the happy Fathers day vibe we had going so we went someplace different. This isn’t the first bad experience there — certainly the last.

Ordered two sandwiches to go. They were OK but pretty small, fairly oily/messy, and overpriced. I would try another deli next time(or even go 2 blocks down the road to Whole Foods).

When I called Epicurean Café because they forgot to put half of the ingredients in my $ 15 sandwich she screamed, «Fuck you and your Unilocal review» when I brought up Unilocal.lol

All I have to say is Mac-n-Cheese heaven! All of the cheeses that I have had the pleasure of enjoying are fabulous. But, the mac-n-cheese is rich, using a combination of quality local cheeses, filling, and wanting me to come back for more. The sandwiches are always made on fresh baked bread, quality meats(prosciutto is my fav), amazing homemade soups, and it’s always served with a smile! And the best treat of all is the BURRATA cheese, soft, fresh, creamy… served with a dollop of pesto on top & bread crisps, mmmmmm!!! Last summer I ordered a cheese platter for a party and when I picked it up it was much larger than expected. Five different cheeses, dried cherries, nuts, bread, crackers… everyone raved over this plate of yumminess. If all that wasn’t enough, I indulge in the chocolate crackle looking cookie topped with powder sugar… O em g!!! Just the finishing touch to every visit here. The owner Sheana is always helpful, smiles from ear to ear, and happy to share a story that will keep you laughing.

Nice little place just a block from the«town square» and had great selection of cheese and wine. The wine, a bit pricey in my eyes but I could be wrong. We stopped in for cheese & misc snacks, the lady that helped us was very helpful, we told her what kinds of cheese we both enjoy and she set us up with a mixed plate of cheeses that were delicious & bread/spread. Shauna the owner was there and she was very welcoming. She called our son & other small children her«sweet pea» LOL very cute about it. The only thing is that for it being kid friendly the table/floor set up does make it just a tad bit tight in there. I liked that they also sold beer. Apparently they have live music too, we didn’t stick around for that though. Overall, we would definitely go back next time we are in Sonoma.

Thinking about their Thai Tea as I type this. As I walked around the ‘Sonoma Square’ two places recommended this place without a thought to spare. As I walked in, I completely understood why. It’s a very cute little local shop with some small eats, local items, beers, wine, and yummy coffee. They used half&half in their Thai Tea and it was very good that way! I drank it up before I even paid. They were even kind enough to give a free refill of coffee to my friend even though we ordered to go. I also bought a local IPA from there that was very reasonably priced. Can’t wait to stop by again when I’m in NorCal next!

I am not one to write negative reviews, but I feel compelled to do so in this case. A friend of mine arranged a dinner party for ten women. Sheana, the owner, was a personal friend of hers, so we decided to dine at Epicurean Connection. The food was mixed. The salad was very good, but the chicken was dry. Worse than that, however, was the fact that Sheana ripped us off to the tune of almost $ 700. We paid $ 40 apiece up front and agreed to a corkage fee of $ 10 per bottle for six bottles of wine. One of our bottles was corked so Sheana replaced it with a bottle from the restaurant. Aside from that, tax and tip, there were supposed to be no other additions to our bill. The bill presented after the meal was for about $ 580. That was in addition to the $ 400 previously paid. The next day, another charge appeared on the credit card of the woman who paid — this time for $ 300. That makes the total cost for a dinner for ten at $ 1,280. The amount we should have paid was probably at most $ 500 plus tax and tip. If you eat here, please pay close attention to your bill. I hear this is not the first time Sheana has pulled such a stunt.
