Small and cozy bar. Sunday 5−8pm there’s Live Blues Music! I love cinders and beers so I was stoked to see that on Happy Hour which was also happening on Sunday. It’s a total gem in the Plaza. Got to come here after wine tasting in Sonoma!

I stumbled upon this sweet gem accidentally after wine tasting. There was live music, friendly service and happy hour on a Sunday! All together good feel and a sweet deal. No food really, just chips, and they serve beer and wine. Good stuff.

This is a fabulous place to listen to some great live music ! They have a great selection of Champagne, Wines and Beers, very reasonably priced also. The new owners have remodeled a bit so it has a fresh comfortable look and feel ! This is one place you will feel welcome, whether you come alone or with friends. I have done both and had an Awesome Time !! I Highly recommend and will return for sure !!!

Awesome little spot that I don’t frequent enough! Met up with friends here a few weeks ago on a Friday night and made it in time for happy hour! The music is always fantastic and the atmosphere is soo happy and laid back. The bartender was super friendly and helpful. I love that this little spot exists and is doing so well!

I’ll start off by saying I had a great time in Sonoma, except for my time spent at the Speakeasy. I’m writing this review because of the exceptionally rude treatment from the staff at Sonoma Speakeasy. We were sitting and having a drink and enjoying the live music when a worker picked up the musicians tip jar and came by us asking us if we would like to leave a tip. I really wanted to but I didn’t have any cash on me so I explained that to her. We had already ordered drinks and tipped her generously but simply did not have cash to tip the band. She looked irritated and came back up to us a few min later and sat right back down next to us. She started talking condescendingly out-loud but to herself about tipping and how she always tips when she appreciates something. Then she was directly talking to us and being very rude. I told her that she was being rude and that I wanted to leave, to which she responded by calling us assholes and basically harassing us until we got to the door of the establishment, we were rushing to get out the door because the lady was yelling at us and didn’t realize my friend still had her glass of wine in hand. Then she started screaming at us about the drink and ripped it out of her hands. She was yelling about how we were going to cost us her licence. I tried to tell the other workers who came out that she was really rude to us but they were all basically yelling at us by then. I was truly enraged and shocked at this treatment. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough! :(

I have visited this establishment on multiple occasions, and have always had a fabulous time. It is a very friendly atmosphere. I go with my girlfriends for our girls night. We like to karaōke and always feel the love from the crowd during and after performing. The owner Jodi always ready with a HUGE smile, makes me feel like the most important person in the room.

Not yet 5 minutes into Sonoma Speakeasy I was greeted by a heavier set fellow who proceeded in ridiculing my age. Repeatedly, he would ask whether my friends and I were over the age of 21, which we were very ready and willing to offer our ID’s to prove our age. He, however, was not interested in seeing the ID’s, but continued to harass us of not being 21, and at the same time not wanting to see verification of our age. He also threatened knowing the sheriff and worked for the owner in some showcase of power to intimidate us. I tried to explain that I was writing an article about bars in Sonoma, which is why I excitedly took pictures of the live band, but that did not seem to phase him. He said I would need permission to take photos, which, understandably, I began putting my camera away. I understand how I may have stepped over boundaries, but that does not excuse the terrible treatment. However, that did not deter him from his barrage of accusations of our age and not subtle hints of how we should leave. We had not step foot in the establishment for 5 minutes to leave to a verbal, «Get the FUCK out of here!» Which we willingly did. It was a completely HORRIBLE experience – I can hardly entertain the thought of returning to Sonoma Speakeasy and American Music Hall. I don’t want to base the bar on this initial experience, but it was hardly something to forget.

This place is amazing. It is the hidden gem of Sonoma Valley. The staff was so friendly and made the experience even better. The music and over atmosphere were awesome. Great place for dates or to hang with some friends. This is my new go to place!

After having dinner in Sonoma for the Honey’s Birthday, we decided to take an evening stroll around the plaza. So glad we did! We followed the sounds of an amazing band to this somewhat hidden gem! The music was great. The vibe was great. The hospitality was fantastic. Great crowd of people who seemed to be enjoying the experience as much as we were. We each had a very well balanced glass of wine while enjoying the band. There is not much of a nightlife in Sonoma, so finding the Speakeasy was a great treat to end our evening on a great note!

Omg what a FIND! I cannot believe we literally stumbled upon this place … Heard the music, saw the sign and had to come in. Dynamite beer selection, outstanding local wine. Wow. Wow. Wow. Bluesy Music is unbelievably good and totally unexpected — bartender sings! Peanuts and pretzels and karaōke — LOVE this place! Making it a Sonoma favorite with my guy! Yes, yes, yes Sonoma!

Great spot for a quiet glass of wine, or two! It’s small, but quaint. The owner is friendly, entertaining, and knowledgeable. Had a delicious Zinfindel, and a lot of laughs! Felt very welcome and I definitely recommend stopping in for glass or a bottle!
