26 Nov 2015. 4.30pm. I walked past the store today. They have kittens up for adoption. Thats a noble cause but little kittens need better care. Today is thanksgiving and the store is closed. There are three kittens in a cage with no water, on display in the window. Thats pretty bad in anyones book. The sad kittens are constantly circling the bowl, looking very thirsty given the dry food. Responsibility starts with care — especially if its front and center in your window. I hope the kitties make it through the night. A concerned animal lover. Update 27th Nov: cats have water, hopefully adopted soon. Update 27th: owner did drop by in the evening apparently to take care of cats. Thank you!

Sonoma Home embodies a sophisticated take on country casual décor with a twist of French country chic. They have lovely bath soaps, towels and decorative items that would be wonderful in my dream country cottage vacation home. Add in some unique nature inspired pillows, linens and various bird figures and you get the gist of what they are all about. They also have a back room sale section that sometimes has unique finds. They had some ultra soft Sonoma sweatshirts this past weekend that were 50% off, so they do carry some souvenir type items as well. I always think of their stock as upscale country chic décor(something you’d find at a more upscale bed and breakfast but also wouldn’t mind using in your own private getaway home-for those of us who even can dream about those!) Prices are on par with an occassional splurge or that special gift. It’s not every day practical décor. There are some jewelry items as well that includes some unique pieces that are relatively well priced. However, I do love to come in and browse-it looks and smells wonderful the second you walk in the door. Worth a stop if you’re in Sonoma.

As of today(7÷25÷13) they STILL have not fixed this. I can’t believe it. I figured at some point a reasonable manager or owner would examine this paper trail and see that I was totally ripped off, and they owe me money or a robe. But so far, no! =/

Beautiful Jewelry, amazing shoes, boots and slippers! Super friendly staff, always greet me when I enter and really nice to my Mom who uses a walker. I like that they support the local Pet’s Lifeline too.

Small store with some nice and ornate home furnishings. Overall, a bit too expensive for what you get and nothing too original worth spending extra on.

You would think that on a busy weekend personal service might be lacking but not so at this lovely store. Jennifer was fantastic at knowing just what I wanted and needed and put items together in a beautiful way. Sincere, polite and a great listener made my experience wonderful. When in town I will definitely visit this store.

I purchased a beautiful framed rooster painting for my home while vacationing here in July 2011. I paid MORE than the price of the painting to have it crated and shipped to my home in Texas. After repeated attemps to find out what happened to the painting, it is now February 2012, and they are finally refunding our money(though we haven’t gotten the check yet). The management gave us repeated run arounds about the frame being damaged, when in reality, they sold our painting and couldn’t replace it. Warning: Do not buy anything from this store that you cannot carry out at time of purchase. It has taken us over seven months to get a refund for goods purchased they did not ship and we still don’t have our money back. I would highly discourage anyone from supporting this business when there are so many other wonderful places there on the square.

The Wine Country is full of cute little gift shops and the area around the Sonoma Plaza is rich in that genre. It’s «Sonoma Style»(whatever that means), that features an eclectic mix of items that seem both French, Californian, and with a dash of Mission. The good folks that work here are friendly, yet unobtrusive and the bargain room is in the back, just in case you want to get lucky. Gayle and I manage to stop here whenever we’re in town and most recently it was the cats in the window that brought us back multiple times. But just like the nice stuff in our house, there wasn’t room for another«pretty kitty», no matter how adorable the felines and their home accessories looked.

This store has gone downhill in the 6+ years I’ve been coming to Sonoma. They used to have a fun, «cottage, shabby chic» collection of furniture & home accessories, along with plenty of «gifty» items. Now their offerings are weighed much heavier on the gifty stuff, with not many home furnishings in sight, which is a shame. It should really be called«Sonoma Chick» instead, because their selection is now full of shoes, bags, and scents(soaps, candles, etc.) and many other girly things. Which is OK, but it’s just not the same Sonoma Home that I fell in love with.

Came back to check out the Neon Buddha, and although I did not find that amazing piece, my GF did. Their line is perfect, casual, tailored, wash and dry-able. I got a beautiful soft scarf… and when this heat lets up… This is a wonderful, and diverse shop. Loved the associate, she was so sweet and friendly.

This store had the best selection of Pine Cone Hill Pajamas I have ever seen! In addition to that they had beautiful accessories and fabulous smelling lotions and candles. To top it off, the shop girl was so sweet and helpful!

I really like this store — it’s a mix of California and French Country, which is pretty much«Sonoma Style» in a nutshell. They have a table full of interesting books, ranging from«Fifty Places to Fly Fish Before You Die», to «The Cupcake Book»…cookbooks and coffee table books, galore. They also carry Pine Cone Hill bedding and pajamas(kind of like Shabby Chic, but less frilly), clothing by Neon Buddha, and one of my favorite items in the store — ballet flats, made by BLOCH, which is an actual ballet shoe manufacturer. Don’t forget to check out their assortment of jewelry, Voluspa candles(right now in super yummy holiday scents), glittery old-fashioned decorations, and even furniture for sale. There is also a «SALE» room in the very back… kind of a smörgåsbord of items, but take some time to sift through it for some good deals.

Um, they had a Dr. Seuss POP-UP Book! Any store which sells somethin’ like that can’t be bad at all. No purchases made today, but plenty of Christmas tree ornament eye candy. Very warm and cozy décor, cute journals, mugs, glassware, linens, candles, essential oil diffusers, etc. But, the true highlight of the store — the three adorable caged kittens in the front corner of the store… precious. Definitely clever marketing to prey on your vulnerabilities to not-so-reasonably-priced(and some reasonably-priced) cute ‘stuff.’
