My go to place almost every day. Serene, today the air smelled like honey. The California Bay Laurels are blooming like never before. There are 2 easy descents to Sonoma Creek, and rock beaches. Bring the children, dogs, a picnic… Check out more pics and stuff on Maxwell Farms Regional Park Fan Club on Facebook.

I love this park! Great place to take my 5 year old, who can ride her scooter in the skate park, play on the playground, go for a short walk, and swim in the creek. Awesome little park to have in town!

Meh. I work in the area and go there occasionally mid-week, and it’s kinda depressing. There is nobody around, there are a total of two – count them, two – park benches around the huge upper level open space(and then for some unexplained reason they have five park benches jammed together right next to Verano Avenue… um, whatcha thinkin’?). Then, all the picnic tables(maybe two dozen?) are crammed together into the same area by the kids play area, with no other picnic tables anywhere else in the park(??). To top it off there’s the absurd $ 7.00 parking fee. The reason that I’ve even given it two stars is that the view of the surrounding hills is really beautiful, and the trees turn a wonderful red in the Fall. I guess I’ll just have to enjoy it eating my lunch standing up, ready to run back to my car if parking enforcement comes by.

This is a beautiful park with a baseball field, skate park, and tennis courts. The only draw back is the $ 7 parking fee. It can get pretty crowded but I found the perfect time to go is Sunday morning(while everyone else is at church). There is also a wooded area for walking.

Beautiful setting with tons of green space, a huge playground, a skate park, tennis courts, and big walking trail. Very peaceful with a nice view of the hills in the background. Close to some restaurants and Starbucks, so you can sneak over, eat, and then come back for more fun.

Maxwell Park has nice courts, but beware the crowds on weekends! It’s easy to grab brunch afterwards at Breakaway, or take a break and check out the kids at the skate park. The part that’s less visible from the road includes basketball courts, trails, picnic facilities, etc. It’s a nice little weekend stop, with something for the lazy and the not-so-lazy alike.
