Bargetto Winery

Stopped by for a tasting on New Years Eve day. Wife got a regular tasting and I got a reserve, so we could cover almost all of what they were pouring that day.
The room was festively decorated with a holiday spirit. It is located next to the river, and there’s a good sized outdoor deck that is probably a nice cool hangout in warmer weather.
Our server (John, I think) was the best — friendly, knowledgeable, and generous with the pours! For the holidays, they were serving a warm, spiced honey mead out of a crock pot. It was delicious. But the smell could overcome the tasting when the lid was open, so we occasionally had to step back when they served. Stand outs were a reserve Pinot Noir, their La Vita Italian blend, and that awesome mulled mead.
There was also a small but nice selection of gifts, and candies in case you needed to buy off your patient kids. ;-)

Bargetto Winery is a picturesque location located off Main Street in Aptos. We are from Sacramento and Our wine server was very knowledgeable about the area, suggesting restaurants for dinner and other wineries to visit. Bargetto Wines fits our palettes. We enjoy big, bold, peppery wines and Bargetto has a large selections of these wines.
They have a beautiful patio over looking the a small tree, redwood trees which shade the patio, and its a perfect location for a wedding as some people have mentioned here. We talked with our server about renting the patio for a corporate event and he told us the patio can hold upto 125 people.
We will be back.

Visiting Bargetto is always a pleasure! My husband and I have been club members since 2007, when we got married at the winery. The staff is exceptional. Always helpful and smiling, especially Carl and Skip! And Nancy is a gem, always ready to help with any questions. The wine is delicious and a bottle of La Vita is definitely worth the splurge. If time permitted, we would visit weekly!

Had my son’s wedding there this weekend they keep running out of cold beer could not provide enough shade or fans or cold water very unprofessional we spent thousands on this place food was great the staff was good except the corrdinator was lost and rude not what I expected can’t recommend this place for a wedding had to Chang clothes in a barrel room and towards the end of the night they took all the wedding party’s clothes including tux parts and piled them on a table out side what a mess! Could be way better for the money just the wrong person in charge!

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Bargetto Winery and were very impressed with how well everything was handled. They provided excellent wines, which all our guests enjoyed, as well as great resources for flowers, caterers and entertainers, which we used. This is a wonderful place to hold an event. Their outdoor patio was scenic and comfortable and the staff was very friendly and accomedaing.

Our nephew was married here this month and it was honestly the smoothest run wedding we had been to… Cher the event coodinator is perfect at her job; the way she delt with the many personalities is so professional yet kind. We will always recommend the venue it is beautuful however… Cher is WHY we will recommend it, thankyou for helping to make a special day even more memorable!

Yoga and wine with Amanda was the best! Loved the class and the tasting in a gorgeous setting overlooking the creek. Perfect way to spend an afternoon with girlfriends, locals and visiting, and hopefully it will be a regular (weekly!) event!

another great visit at Bargetto… We have added their wines to our choice list of Wine Clubs, with 2 bottles a month Locals package… Also having a Monterey Location by Fish Hopper on cannery row which also makes for added convenience … Several nice whites which were real pleasant and several desert wines my girls loved. Al was a bit rough at first but it was busy and he settled into his role of very nice host. which was another reason for the winery addition…

We were married at Bargetto last June and had a wonderful experience planning and hosting the event here. I was one of those brides who really needed someone to help run my big day but I didn’t have the funds to hire a wedding planner. Cheir’s services turned out to be the perfect solution, she was just what I needed! Cheir knows her stuff, and I can’t thank her enough for her help. Angela was super sweet and helpful as well and the vendors they recommend we try were also easy to work with. If you’re thinking about getting married here… DO IT. I could really go on forever about how awesome they were to work with, and how beautiful the venue was. Sarah G described the whole experience as magical, I second that opinion.
On a different note, I’m a wine club member and I love stopping by to do a quick tasting. The remodeled tasting room is cozy and nothing beats a day out on the patio, in the sun, with a little cheese (bring that yourself) and a class of Pinot (for the patio you have to hope no one is getting married…).

The Bargetto Winery is an amazing retreat in the heart of Soquel! Out of pure luck, I stumbled upon their Art and Wine festival and I was so happy that I did. For $ 10 I got a wine glasses and about 6 wine tasting tickets.
The combo of the view of the Soquel River and the amazing tasting wine makes this Winery a great place to stop at while you are antiquing downtown Soquel.

MAGICAL-​That is how I describe our wedding at Bargetto. Cheir is the best along with her assistant Angela. Wow-​I cannot thank them enough for their help with the wedding planning and talent on the day of! Our wedding went super smooth and everyone had a blast. Bargetto is a beautiful place and now holds an extra special place in our hearts. Now we will be coming back for the great wine and excellent/​friendly staff. We love you guys!

AMAZING! We had our wedding here back in July 2014. Cheir was our event coordinator, she was so much fun to work with and made it stress free and easy. The wedding day turned out perfectly! All of our guests were very impressed with the venue and with how much they offered us. Love this winery. If you plan to get married here sign up for their wine club, it definitely will save you a lot for the big day on alcohol.

Great mellow coastal wines. Excellent Pinot Noir. I’ve been a wine club member for years and have had nothing but great experiences. The view of the creek is beautiful, and this is one of the best places to go in a storm, as you can see the waters surge and flow by on their way to the bay.
I have hired them to pour at a couple different events, and have been more than satisfied with the service and quality of wine provided. They’re just great.
But let me take a second to tell you about Carl. He is the WORST! Just kidding! Carl is a big reason why my fiancé and I visit so often, we even invited him to our wedding. Skip is also fun, as well as the rest of the staff in the tasting room.
All I can say is that if you have a bad experience here, then you’re probably a bummer to hang out with anyway.

I joined the wine club years ago and I know most of the people at Bargetto. Today I met someone new, Angela, and she’s great. She was working alone and had to balance wine buying, wine club pickups, and pouring in the tasting room. It was quite busy at times, but Angela was always right on and going with the flow. Never appeared rushed or harried. Filled with enthusiasm and positive attitude, and knowledgeable of the wine. Looks like my favorite winery has a great new person. If you get some free time mid-​week, go to Bargetto and enjoy.

Great staff here, we had a fun time in the tasting room.
They have two options to taste, a $ 7 basic tasting and a $ 12 estate tasting.
A couple wines I was not thrilled about here, but we did like the Tuxedo Red (for $ 18 can’t beat the price) as well as their flagship wine, La Vita.
Seeing as La Vita is $ 80 we did not buy any, but it was definitely a very cool Italian Blend. They have backberry wine here, as well as Mead. We did not try the Mead, but it had a 92 point rating and would be perfect for a cold rainy day.
They have a very large gift shop, where you can buy many different items, so it is a little bit touristy, but the location is awesome. It is right next to the creek so you can look out into the mountains. This would be a great location for a private event as well.

My mom and I have been members, but we have been double charged. The staff keeps changing its story and has terrible record keeping. Th Soquel tasting room staff have gone downhill. The wine is good, so if you want to try it, I recommend Monterey

There are a lot of good things about this place but because of a bad experience there I put off writing my review for months to see if I could more objectively review Bargetto.
My party of 4 were outside at a table overlooking the creek. I went in to the tap room which was full of people quite loud and inebriated. The server cut me off though I only had two small tasters (less than ¹⁄₈ ounce each) and one glassof a really good Pinot Noir.
My party’s designated driver approached the gentleman to explain that I had only two drinks and that I had «DD» but I was cut off. We were not being loud only discussing a book about a guy who escaped from a North Korean prison camp.
I cancelled my membership and won’t be back and though I did enjoy their reds, I will not recommend.

What I like about these guys is that they have some unique desert wines. I have been buying Chaucer’s mead from them via TJs and other outlets for many years now and it’s great to go and buy it from the source. They have blackberry, pomegranate, and apricot wines which are fun as well and so much more.

I can’t believe I haven’t written a review of this place yet. Tucked away in the trees just a short drive from the beach, Bargetto Winery is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon.
I was brought here with some friends after the Begonia festival, where we spent a lovely couple of hours flirting with the pourer, having some wine and cheese, and sitting in the sun.
I really enjoyed their scope of wines, including their dessert wine, and this is my go to place to get a wine «from the area» to bring to a friend. I’ll definitely back just as soon as the weather heats up, to spend another gorgeous day on the back patio.
