This has become one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the neighborhood. It is a family-owned restaurant, run by just the husband and wife. The place is small with no more than 10 tables. Menu is simple, with less than 10 food items. Price ranges from $ 5 – 7 and is cash only. Everything on the menu is delicious. Towards the end of the meal, they would bring out complimentary desserts. Gotta love mom-and-pop cafes!!!

I love these kinds of mom and pop stores, however the food didn’t really work for me): We got two bun bo hues, and one of their bun mum(their speciality). I’m trying to find a new bun bo hue place that is really good, but I can’t seem to find one! Anyways, I’m sure that their mum(bun nuoc leo) is really good, and that it’s just be that doesn’t know how to eat it or appreciate it lol. I ate most of it, but I wouldn’t return): my boyf and my mom didn’t really like their bun bo hue either, it was unique but I guess they weren’t super fans. Anyways, I would have gave it three stars but the service was quite pleasant, especially for an asian/vietnamese restaurant. ALSO, they give you free dessert — if I remember correctly it was a tapioca dessert. My whole table loved it!

What an unexpected gem this little family owned hole-in-the wall is! The food is delicious and the owner is absolutely adorable. We had their speciality, the bun nuoc leo bac lieu, as well as a vegetarian dish, the bun thit nuong cha gio. Oh man… whatever they do to the tofu in that dish is amazing! It’s thinly sliced, seasoned, and grilled. I would HIGHLY recommend it! The owner checked on us several times to make sure we were enjoying our dishes and to tell us about the preparation and ingredients. And she brought over a complementary dessert when we were finished. So sweet! Mom and pop shops are the best :)

This review is based on one take-out experience. This restaurant serves primarily vietnamese food, rice and noodle dishes priced at approximately $ 7+tax an entrée. They also have one plate that is korean fusion. I ordered the vegetarian Bun Bo Hue. It was OK. They used the dry-based soy meat kind and tofu. The soup base tasted like the kind you can buy commercially pre-made. I will probably not come back for the vegetarian food. However, I really like that they serve vegetarian dishes as well. This is a mom and pop shop. The owners were friendly and could understand English. They offered me iced tea while I waited for my order. Parking is on-street. You may have trouble finding parking directly in front of the store on Garvey Ave, so it might be better to park on the residential streets.
