My Elgin colleague took me here for lunch — I should say he drove me, because I paid for my own lunch! Ok — please was clean, typical good parking, pricing was decent and selections was good. However, my Italian combo was really really good! Though my french fries were just mediocre — the sandwich was great! It’s a shame they only basically have one diet soda and no freshly brewed unsweetened ice tea — what they have I think is a powdered tea! YES — I would return for sure!

Their gyro with all the fixings is amazing! Don’t go for that chicken crap though, you have to be authentic and get the lamb! For the amount you get, it’s a great deal! I’m coming back!

Been going to Skippy’s since I lived near the Hanover Park location! Now I work and live in the South Elgin area and love these guys! My go to meal is the King Chicken Gyros! The best part is they know me so well that by the time I hit the counter they have it ordered and all i have to do is pay for it! Love love love this place!

Best gyros in town! The food is consistent and the staff is friendly and pleasant. Dining in is always nice too, they keep the restaurant clean and inviting! Only downfall is that the pricing is a bit night but it’s worth it!

This place has been my go to place for gyros, for years. You get plenty of meet and it’s always fresh and delicious. The fries and fried mushrooms are great as well. The restaurant is always clean and great service.

I went to this place with my husband this evening. The place is very nice and the food was delicious and fresh. I had a mini gyro and shared a large fry with my husband. The mini gyro was the perfect size. My only disappointment is the restaurant closes early on the weekends.

The inside is kept nice, updated and clean. Italian ice is yummy! Kids meals are affordable and come with Italian ice! I had the Athenian chicken pitta. The chicken was cooked perfectly with a slightly char taste and feta! It was awesome.

Skippy’s is always a good go-to restaurant if you are in a hurry or just want some decent food. The Italian ice is great and really cleanses the palette. Some of the other good dishes are the Super Taco, Skippy’s sub, Italian Sub, Italian Sausage, and some of the other dishes. Overall the service is good, and people are nice.

The gyros are great and I love the curly fries. Unfortunately they have Pepsi products!!! Their prices are high. If they lowered the price I would definitely go more often. It’s a great location, easy in and out and close to a lot of other businesses that I use.

This place has really nice people and a awesome facility. It is very nicely furnished for a fast food place. The gyros have a really good amount of meat to them as well.

Yummy gyros, hot dogs, Greek chicken and fries. It’s fast food but it’s a notch above the others. I actually think I prefer this to Portillo’s just down the street. One of the things I really, really like is there are NO garbage cans in the dining room. They clear and clean all tables in a prompt and efficient manner as soon as the table has vacated. It’s very clean, you’ll never find a mess anywhere. Might be a weird reason to like this place but let me tell you, it really does make a difference.

I really enjoyed the restaurant’s interior design lol. The floors, tables, walls, artwork, wall molding, and even the bathroom were quite impressive for a gyro joint! Umm the tables were granite if I am not mistaken! Wowzah. Are all Skippys’ like this? The food was great. I’ve had better though… around the southside Chicago/southern suburban areas, there are incredibly tasty Gyros and Greek food. I just tried the Athenian chicken pita and the chicken gyros. I am not sure how the other selections taste, but I trust they are good. 4 stars magnifico.

This location has always been one of my local favorites My friend and I stopped in to fulfill our gyros addiction. We were a little surprised at some of the cosmetic and menu changes that left us wondering whether this location was under new ownership or management. Something just didn’t feel right. The tables seemed to have a somewhat greasy feel to them which was uncharacteristic of its’ usual lustrous appearance. The food quality also seemed somewhat diminished. About 1am it was confirmed when we both seemed to come down with nausea and abdominal cramps.

Place sucks, pricy and managers not friendly at all? $ 6.48 for a chicken quesadilla plus $ 2.99 for 7 onion rings and $ 1.79 for drink wtf Pricy dinner for crappy place. Would definitely not come back.

This one is a hard one for me. I spend some time in Florida near Tarpon Springs which was settled by Greek Families and there are a number of greek restaurants in the area. Louis Pappas for one. Also, I took a number of trips to Athens during the 2004 – 2006 time frame and ate out in some of the great restaurants there. I had the Gyros Pak which includes a gyros sandwich with Tzatziki, onions and tomatoes, a side of fries and a soda. The fries were good. The sandwich was good. However, the gyros and tzatziki didn’t have enough flavor to them. Don’t get me wrong. it was good but not great. The place was spotless. The price was around $ 8.91 for the Pak, not cheap but about right. They brought the food out to me after it was prepared. This was going to be a 3.5 rating but, hey, they have Pepsi products, so it’s a 4.

Love this place. It’s not your authentic, straight from Greece gyro place, more of a fast food chain type gyro place, but it totally gets the job done. Haven’t gotten anything else here but the gyro since there’s rarely anywhere else to go to get one. Place is clean and has its own parking. There’s even TVs in the dining room playing ESPN. C’mon now, you can’t beat that. I think the owner even works there because the lady that took my order was an older lady not dressed like the rest of the staff. Gotta love dedication
