Holy delicious. My boyfriend had been begging me to try this place and I finally gave in… And I don’t regret it at all. Their cinnamon Ice Cream is to die for.

The customer service here was fantastic! We were looking for a mint chip ice cream cake for a birthday and they didn’t have any made when we were there. We were about to eat dinner at Freshies and while we were waiting, Aloha clerk came out to let us know she can come up with an alternative dessert that was mint chip and gluten free. It was really nice of her to work with her customers and I like that she cared enough to come find us after we had left already. And the mint chip ice cream was really yummy– with really big chunks of mint chocolate chips. Thanks!

This ice cream is AMAZING! The huckleberry is the best ice cream I have ever had! I had it 3 times on my trip out to Tahoe in Sept. Donna and Carrie are so sweet! I will definately be visiting here on every trip up there I make!

The sweetest people run this shop! It’s an old fashioned family-run ice cream business which is absolutely adorable. Not to mention, they have some of the best ice cream. Their cream cream is so flavorful. I chose the coconut and the pistachio ice cream, both which were quite good. If I did have to choose only one though, the coconut was the best. There are pieces of real coconut in it, which added more flavor and texture to the ice cream. Well worth it to come here for dessert.

Stopped in for some birthday ice cream(yes. I’m 26) last Tuesday night. Unilocal says that they close at 10p, however I showed up at 8:57p and saw them cleaning up with their door sign saying they close at 9!(Damn you, Unilocal!) Being from NYC I was ¾ expecting her(owner’s sister) to say that they were closed and that she had already taken down the place. But instead, she cheerfully said she would scoop us some ice cream. The ice cream was amazing(I chose maple nut and huckleberry), but her service was what really made it 5 stars. I already can’t wait to come back to Lake Tahoe.

Ice cream is mediocre at best and they don’t have the greatest selection of flavors. The shop was impeccably clean however, staff was very kind, helpful and especially knowledgable about food allergies.

Ice scream, ice cream, we all cream for ice cream! It’s hot, it’s summer, we’ve just walked around South Lake and have worked off our big fat lunch. We had my dog with us, so super convenient to run in and get our ice cream while the rest of our party relaxed outside in the shade. I got a Kona coffee sundae, my niece got vanilla in a little cone. The dog got iced water. PROTIPS: No bathrooms inside. Cash only.

Great little Mom & pop ice-cream shop! Yummy ice-cream and friendly service! One of the sisters who works there took the time to point out some of the most beautiful scenic views of Lake Tahoe. It’s cash only, so don’t forget your green!

The service was great! We actually were here twice during our trip to tahoe. The two girl behind the counter were polite, professional and friendly. The ice cream and topping gs were great, my husband got the root beer float and loved it. It is a mom and pop shop so it is a little bit more expensive than other commercial shops.

This place is ok. But nothing to write home about. We were excited by the good reviews and the title of best ice cream in Tahoe. If this is the best ice cream in Tahoe then this place is an ice cream wasteland. VERY overpriced. I realize it’s Tahoe, but come on. When I pay over $ 15 for two small sundaes it better be good! Sundaes were mediocre and I could have went to Safeway down the street and bought better ingredients for much less.

Thanks Unilocal for always helping a girl out! Needed a last minute ice-cream Birthday cake… Unilocal pointed me here! I called and was told lots of pre-made cakes and sure they could add a name and a happy birthday! I don’t get the bad reviews about the cash only. I actually missed that on Unilocal but A sign right at the front door was clear. After I ran over to BofA and entered the store I noticed 4 more CASH only signs! Not a secret:-) I went with a mud pie and Jenny helped me make it look a but more girlie by adding sprinkles! Hurray for sprinkles!!! I had to wait a bit for my husband who ran to grab some take out and the owner(who had been so helpful) and I continue to chat. Dale… wow. Talk about a wonderful person. So enjoyable… and very personable. The whole experience was a win: win and we will be back!!! BTW can I tell you my Mom is an ice-cream pie snob!!! She said this was the best ice pie and incredibly well done cookie crust she has ever had! We all Loved it!

OMG. YUM. They have a wonderful array of delicious ice cream. But I was enticed by the homemade blackberry pie. Warmed, with vanilla ice cream on the side. It was a little slice of heaven. In fact, I venture to say it was the best berry pie I have ever had. Just the right amount of sweet and tart. Warm and creamy with the ice cream. If only I lived in Tahoe and didn’t just visit, I could have more of this delectable pie and get FAT.

Their mint chip ice cream cake is amazing. Their owner was really friendly also. Good selection of ice cream and other sweet treats. I’ll def be back for another slice of that cake before I leave Lake Tahoe.

What a mess… cash only, didn’t see sign… and my own previous review ;-( I said to my server«it would have been nice to tell me when I got in line» Then I got out of line to get cash from a family member… The charming owner gave me a litany of signs I apparently should have seen. Did not need the lecture… was getting the cash! Really nice customer service… We will not be back… do not want to give this *lovely man* my $$!

In South Lake for a family reunion. It’s crazy busy up here this time of Summer – August. A few of us split of to grab a delectable experience. We settled on this place based on a Unilocal search. Atmosphere is sort of beachy inside. I sampled the pistachio and espresso bean. Both were tasty, especially the pistachio. However I was feeling a little indecisive, and considered perhaps the Summer mood called for their multi-f Avowed sherbet. I asked for a sample. The kind girl reached for the little sample wood spoon to get it. Then the, the owner I presume, an older man, stopped her and said there was only a two sample limit. I would’ve walked out immediately had my sister and father not already ordered. 100% do I understand the owner’s point of view of controlling costs of over sampling. Unfortunately, he did not see this as an opportunity to make his business better. Had I been a finicky child, or aggressively sampling it would have been correct in sternly refusing an additional sample. I suddenly lost all glee of that ice cream experience that is suppose to be connected to the buying experience – completely over it. My father bought me a piece of pie, quite good, because he didn’t want to ruin the family vacation experience. I only accepted for he was paying. Dear Mr. Owner, you had only to use your judgement of the buyer. Instead of telling an adult, or kid, that they can’t have a third sample before buying their two scoops, you could have done one simple thing. Say, «It’s out policy to only give two samples. I’m sure you understand why, but you know what, we’ll make an exception for you. Just this time.» A wink and smile is a great addition. That is the chance to make a guest feel special; make getting ice cream feel like it’s supposed to, a special treat.

I’ve was searching on Unilocal for weeks to try and find a cake for my husbands 30th birthday party. I knew we weren’t getting into Tahoe until four and it seemed like most bakeries closed around 4−5pm. Feeling the time crunch I figured I’d wing it and try this place or Safeway. Lucky for me Aloha saved the day! I stopped in and there was a freezer full of premade ice cream cakes. I picked up a marble cake with chocolate ice cream. The young woman working there wrote on the cake and even added some oreo crumbs to make it «dirty». All in all it was about 32 – 33 bucks. Pretty steep for a round 8 inch cake but I would gladly pay that again for that awesome cake. The cake part was moist and soft. The thick layer of chocolate ice cream was delicious. The decoration and writing weren’t that great but who cares. This will definitely be a Tahoe spot I’ll have to visit next time I’m up.
