We came here for Valentine’s Day dinner. Being that is was a later dinner I shall not comment on a view. We had a 7PM reservation and were promptly seated. The server came by, introduced herself, and took our drink order. We both decided on the Prix fix dinner which we both enjoyed. My wife had the lobster bisque, scallops and crime brûlée. The first two courses were delicious and filling according to her. The dessert was a problems. The crime brûlée arrived and, while the top was bronzed and firm, was a runny mess. The dish did not set and was the consistency of soup. We reported this to the server who promptly offered another or replacement. My wife was full and declined. They did berm over her glass of wine from the tab. I had the apple and goat cheese salad, NY steak, and chocolate mousse. All of my courses were very well prepared and quite tasty. Overall we found this to be a nice hidden gem in SLT. The attentive, prompt and friendly. I’m sure the view is quite spectacular during the day. We look forward to returning when we return to SLT.

Our food was sooooo good! Great service! We asked to see the chef so we could thank him. His name was Ricky. He was so sweet. I got i think it was the filet mignon and my husband got some scallops that were recommend. Very tastey. We will be back. Hopefully Ricky will be working that day!

This place was small but provide some of the best customer service I’ve ever received. Thank you Enrique for the amazing cocktails and delicious food. I would recommend this little gem on the lake to anyone looking for a great meal lunch or dinner.

Bar is great! View terrific! Service good. Food generic and unappetizing. Pasta Primavera tasted like ragu. Ordered side of prawns. …for 18.00 extra for 5 small/medium shrimp. Everything was over priced considering the quality.

We came here for drinks because we were staying at the hotel. The view of the lake would’ve been nice but it was pitch dark when we went. Ordered a rum and coke so pretty simple. It did the trick — I was tipsy when I left. It wasn’t amazing but I wasn’t looking for a well made drink. Also ordered chocolate cake and ice cream. The cake was moist and delicious! Definitely the highlight in my opinion, but I love all things sugar. The service was good! Our waiter gave us tips on where to go in tahoe and ended up having a good time so much appreciated!

This is an absolutely spectacular place to come and watch the sunset over the lake, while enjoying a nice drink or relaxing meal. While you are here, make sure to take a walk out onto the long pier and take some photos, the setting and atmosphere are really quite magical. The food at this restaurant is also quite good, they have both lighter appetizers and more substantial entrees to suit your liking. A highly recommended spot right on the Lake!

Came for a drink and stayed for the night. Taylor(awesome bartender) made the BEST Melon, FreshBlackberry Moscow Mule(not on the menu)!!! I am giving the Boathouse 5 starts because of the view, atmosphere and peeps! I did not have an entrée so I feel i need to disclose this fact. We just snacked… started with the Ahi Poke, very flavorful and loved the crispy wontons served with the poke… but the ahi could have been a better quality, had a few large tendon which I had to slyly discard of. Would I order again… yes, despite the tendons. The Clam Chowder was delish! Very hearty and FULL of whole clams. The grilled baguette slices were an added touch. I have to mention… We were walking on the beach and came upon this place. We had the pleasure to enjoy the live music of Mr Patrick Major while we enjoyed the beautiful sunset and sipped an exceptional cocktail… or two :-)

This was the best decision for an outing in South Lake Tahoe. Boathouse is literally right on the waterfront so you are able to enjoy the amazing views of the lake. Service was spectacular and the food was amazing. We went there for lunch so I opted for the fish tacos– they did not skimp out on the portion and they were well cooked. Our party also had the Portabella burger and they said that the Clam Chowder was some of the best that they ever had. I was pleasantly surprised and would go back here in a heartbeat. Also, they have a small bar area that looks right out to the water if you want a quick drink but would like to avoid the touristy crowds a little inland.

Tasty but small bloody Mary’s. They are expensive which is to be expected given the choice location over the water. They have outdoor and indoor seating as well as picnic table style seating on the pier.

Hubby and I went for a nice sunset dinner and were very happy with our experience. Enrique was a great waiter who checked on us just enough but wasn’t obtrusive in our dining experience. The crab cakes with Sriracha remoulade were great(I want that sauce recipe!) and the clam chowder was outstanding. Both hubby and I had salmon dishes and we were both delighted with our meals. The cake I had for dessert was from a local bakery and delicious. Even the coffee was outstanding. Freshly brewed when I ordered it and strong, the way I like it. The outside dining area is small, but we enjoyed the coziness and LOVED the view of the lake and the amazing sunset. We thoroughly enjoyed our leisurely meal.

We came here for a very special post wedding dinner dinner at the recommendation of our hosts. This place is small, busy and fantastic! Our server, Enrique, helped me navigate some food allergies and despite my allergies to gluten and sugar Enrique helped me find an incredible meal t g at was just perfect. My husband had the filet mignon. I had the salmon. Both were wonderful. The place has an exceptional view, friendly service, is flexible and happy to work with special diets. We had a blast. Thank you Enrique!

I’m giving this place 5 stars because of the view and the food. The service is only about 3 stars. The waiter kept forgetting stuff like water, silverware, side plates, etc. We came here for drinks the day before and really liked the view so we made reservations a half an hour before sunset the next day on the balcony. The view is so freaking awesome. First we ordered wine and a Caesar Salad. The Caesar was really good. It was tossed in dressing. For entrees my wife ordered the stuffed pork chop and I ordered a special Chilean Sea Bass. The pork chop was really good, it was stuffed with stuffing and came with potatoes and broccolini. The Chilean Sea bass was freaking amazing. It was the best sea bass I have ever eaten. It melted in my mouth and the seasoning and sauce made it even better. We watched the sunset into the mountains. It was really beautiful. After the sunset we had dessert, a cheese cake and port wine. It was good, but nothing special. As soon as it got really dark the bugs came out in full affect. We fought them off for a while, but finally left because they got too bad. Overall I’d recommend trying this place with your significant other. The outside tables only seat two. You can’t beat the view!

This little gem would have an all star rating if the management could figure out how to keep the food and service consistent. With frequent turnover of staff and upper management, this eatery with high potential, has left many locals confused and disappointed. We keep going back to see what has transpired over the last year or so and want to support this local establishment. Many beloved bar tenders and servers have left, which is a red flag. We were recently treated to some excellent service by Kasie and Enrique, so things are looking up. There is no denying, this location is by far and away, one of the best places on the lake. The sunset watching here is among the best around. It’s well worth a try! Fingers crossed… they reward locals for their loyalty and frequent patronage.

At first, the good. The food was decent and the quality of presentation was appropriate for the price. The view was gorgeous. One thing that unfortunately took away from the experience happened during the delivery of the check. It was the first time in my life when I was given a check with the area with suggested level of gratuity CIRCLED by the server. What a subtly condescending touch. Also, when it was time to leave we were asked not in a manner that one would ask a customer who just left $ 200 for a meal, but in a manner that one would address a drunk at a cheap dive bar.

Hated my experience here. Expected something way better. Came here the last night we were in town by a recommendation to treat the in laws for their gracious generosity but ended up being really disappointed. I wanted a refined upscale experience with the best sunset view on the lake and this place did not delivered. Ok I guest normally if I didn’t imagine our night being different I might have enjoyed the cute little stair way climb up to the second level into this cramped dinning room with weird unskilled and unprepared wait staff. But that wasn’t the case. There is only a hand full of tables in the main room with a gigantic bar that makes up most of the Resturant and the balcony was so tight with only about 4 or 5 tables for 2 each. For guest who are not dinning outside and want to watch the sunset forget going out on the balcony there is only enough room out there to squeeze through to get seat down at your table. The room was so hot even though it was nice and windy outside the sunset was no where near visible from inside not only because the blinds were down the whole time but because the windows really didn’t provide any great views. The rocky ness of the boat house adds an authentic touch but was more annoying then anything. Then there was the food. Armature at best, not a whole lot to choose from and over priced as hell. This place is a skip. Waste of money and time. Go somewhere else!!!

This is one of the most beautiful locations in South Tahoe. A very small full service restaurant w a million dollar view. Actually, make that a billion dollar view. It’s stunning. The Boathouse is behind the Beach Retreat & Lodge, right on the pier. It’s tiny & removed. A total hidden gem. We came by for an after dinner drink at sunset. What we saw was Wow. Just WOW. The view is absolutely awesome, in every sense of the word. I’ll remember it forever. The bar is all of 5 or 6 stools. There are only a handful of tables in the dining area. It’s simple & charming. Very cozy. There are also a couple of tables outside. Outside is pretty rustic though, but the view is worth it. The host was friendly & the bartender was personable. Sunset in Tahoe? This is a must.

Get the fish and chips. Super fresh! Avoid the Cuban sandwich and the sweet potato fries(soggy).

Incredible View Great Value and Food The family ate here for lunch on Memorial Day after being in Tahoe for a basketball tourney and we were not disappointed! I was looking for someplace with a view of the lake and that we could be casual so of course I turned to Unilocal! The lunch/brunch menu was limited but varied and everyone found something that they wanted. Our son had the steak and eggs and he is super picky… said it was some of the best he has had and it filled him up(At 13 very hard to do!!) I had the portabella sandwich and fries which was served quickly and perfectly! Sometimes portabellas not cooked correctly arrive soggy… this was not the case. 5.00 Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s from 10:00AM– 12:00 Noon(just sayin) Hubby had a steak salad that was fresh and a big portion. I was really surprised at the value especially considering we were in Tahoe and the view. If you eat here you get a nice view of the pier and the lake. Swimmers and paddle boats are beside you making it fun to people watch. Our server was very quick, helpful and friendly. Definitely a great place for an inexpensive lunch/brunch with the lake feel. We will be back!
