!!!YOU MUST TRY CAFE FIORE!!! This place is PHENOMENAL!!!
1^st off we walked in having no idea how small the place was, with no reservation, asking for a table (make one, its a tiny place) and the host was incredibly kind and gracious. Luckily a reservation had not shown up and we got right in!!! Kate was our server, she was not only pleasant and friendly, but exceptionally knowledgeable about the specials and menu. We went for the appetizer special to start — a mushroom style bruschette, then the cioppino for dinner. I literally have only had one other cioppino better in my entire life and that was my Italian grandmothers!
WORDS CAN NOT EXPRESS HOW WONDERFUL FIORE IS!!! Its a little bit of a splurge, but it is worth it! Our dinner felt like it was made just for us! Wonderful service and so kind on the part of Kate and the gentleman (sorry cannot remember his name) especially considering we just arrived out of the blue. We were in and out just in time to make the concert we were in Tahoe to see!
We are already talking about driving back to South Lake just to eat at Fiore again!!!

(additionally a young couple arrived during the middle of our dinner who had just became engaged and Fiore celebrated the special occasion with them by pouring them each a glass of celebratory champagne — well done Fiore — not having even been a part of that moment specifically, i must say we felt very proud to be there toasting to the couple as you graced them was such grace and class)

My favorite restaurant in South Lake Tahoe. My favorite time to come here is in the winter. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic. Especially special when the snow is falling. My favorite items is the swordfish. The service is always amazing. They have a great selection of wines and they have great suggestions for wine and food pairing. Tiramisu and home made white chocolate ice cream with fresh berries is always a great way to finish off the meal.

Very cute little place. Food was delicious. Service could’ve been a little better, but they were busy the night we were in. Overall, I was very pleased. Highly recommended.

Excellent dinner with wonderful service. The food was traditional and good portions. I wish I had more room for more food. Great wine list and dessert options delish!
It is a small restaurant, but we were not sitting elbow to elbow as I have in other small restaurants. Good for couples romantic or group intimate environment. The staff was so nice and welcoming.

I have one complaint about this place: the meats are not sourced from sustainable /​premium sources. The beef is not grass fed, and the chicken is not free range. This may not be important to many people, but I’m a firm believer that if a business is willing to charge $ 40 for a gourmet chicken dish, they should be using premium free range chicken. Grass fed beef is also important to not support the corn fed antibiotic pumped cows.
However, that is the _​only_​complaint I have about my dining experience here. This place lives up to its reputation as a high end italian restaurant. It has a cozy and intimate atmosphere, and incredibly delicious food. If you want to eat here, plan your reservations at the very least a few days in advance.

Had the swordfish with some vino and had the chocolate cake with ice cream for desert! Great food and ambiance! Will definitely come back again!

This was my second time dinning here. I have now sat both inside and outside. I prefer outside when the weather is nice. On both occasions service was fast and friendly. Our waiter was knowledgeable of the menu and able to make recommendations for pairings and such.
On this last visit I had the Fettuccine Alla Calalbrese it was delicious and the flavors complemented each other perfectly! Their white chocolate ice cream is delicious as is their flourless chocolate cake!
