I was prepared to love this place. I have been a devoted vegan for nearly a decade and even worked in a café similar to this one in Seattle for quite some time. I was APPALLED by the poor customer service we got a burger, nachos a juice and a juice shot for a whopping 55 $… 1) why is there debris in the juices? 2) there was NOOTHERORDERS she was working on but messed up BOTH of our food orders 3) being nice to customers is really the bare minimum In the end, we should have just found a store and grabbed some snacks, I wouldn’t recommend going there at all.

The Orange Dreamsicle smoothie was delicious and inexpensive. I was definitely pleased with the customer service. I personally would not recommend the«Blissed Out Nachos» as the entrée was heavy on the black beans. The cashew cheese topping is tasty but is more like a dressing. I would definitely come back for the juices, smoothies, and their dessert case. Happy to find another stop for some healthy pick-me-up treats while shopping in South Lake.

Food is excellent. Pricey, but you get what you pay for, and so good value. On food alone, I’d definitely return again and again. The nachos are great. Down a star for the sanctimonious, holier than thou attitude of the people running the place. A café by Vegans for Vegans. And only Vegans. I love the food but don’t know that I can deal with the attitude.

I gave it 2 stars because food is decent. It has the corner on the market for total vegan place in south Lake Tahoe. You can find them in just about any town. Problem I have with them is the pretentious attitude of people working here. I have been vegan for 10 years and the one thing I can not stand is the attitude vegans have towards you if you don’t fit their image of a vegan. So I came here 2 in afternoon. No one here. Wife and I got burgers to go and asked to have cut in half. She said no. I thought she was joking. Realized she was being rude and very serious, let it go but rolled my eyes. She then said I would go on Unilocal and post a picture of it and bad mouth her. Well you were right about bad mouthing you. I wasn’t impressed with the food. I would have let it go if you weren’t rude. But you are part of the problem. People don’t like being treated like that. Drop the fake hippie pretentious attitude and come into the modern era. Vegans are everywhere and don’t always fit your mold. The pretentious attitude is not the way to win us over…

I adore this space and place. It’s warm and cozy, inviting and has offerings if you want to stick around: games and books to peruse. The products for sale are on the pricier side, yes — but it was nice to see the collection and be introduced to some items which we has been unaware existed. We’ve eaten here several times at differing hours and staff. The food has been wonderful — each and every dish. Pricey? Yes. Happy to have raw /vegan /GF incredible bites in a small town YES!!! It’s not accessible for those on a tight budget, but if you have extra to spend and want to try some new creations for delight: go by and try it out. It’s a regular on our visits now, whether Tahoe is the destination or we’re just going through. They have nice wide open hours and options for every meal. Warning: NOT nut friendly. Some vegan places are very conscious of nut allergies, some try to create safe space, and others just do not make those concessions. If you have a major nut allergy, I think Simple Bliss is not safe(kitchen is small, so cross contamination would be WAY too easy). Minus one star: I will agree that customer service can be on the brisk side, if not bordering rude: I think it is too common for service professionals(yes, you are in the service business, and your service is creating awesome food) to get focused more on the food preparation and business, and forget that it’s all for naught if not for the customer. It seemed to me that it depends on the day and person behind their counter, both. So, my only suggestion is spend a larger fraction of the staff training time on providing service and creating a welcoming space through staff interactions.

The best thing to happen to Lake Tahoe since snow. My new spot to eat from now on, I think I’m just going to camp out back to make it easier. I love the fact that they stay away from soy, most places it seems use soy way to much.

Hate doing this but I have to. If I could give zero star I would. Being vegan can be challenging sometimes. I am on the road trip. Going through lil towns with no food options for me, I was happy to find this cute lil vegan place. I was not welcomed at all. Its fine I dont need to be friends with people who serve or make my food but professionalism and being nice type of attitude is always expected especially if you charge almost $ 8 for not really that hot chai latte, especially if the customer just spent $ 31 and not even a bag was offered to carry few boxes with food. The prices are high the service level is low, the food is just okay def not worth what they charge. My server/cashier was the rudest woman Ive ever met at vegan place. Very bad bad vibes. I’d rather drink water and get nuts or banana to curb my appetite than go back to Simple Bliss Vegan Café. Sorry.

My husband and I visit Tahoe every few months and came across this café around lunch. When we entered, we noticed an older couple seated and no one else there but didn’t get any acknowledgement to our presence for a while. I enjoyed my bagel but it was a simple bagel at a high price.($ 9.50) My husband thought his burger was better than a regular meat burger.($ 13) My 3 kids had pancakes that I thought were over priced for the tiny sizes.($ 7& $ 8). I also tasted the banana pancakes($ 8) and was disappointed with it, not impressed. The pancakes got soggy really quick and pretty much turned to mush. Could’ve plated it with a side of fresh fruit since it was so pricey. There were a few desserts behind the glass that looked old, not fresh so we ate elsewhere for a sweet treat and passed on that. My husband ordered a smoothie($ 8) which was good but not impressive. Even our baby didn’t want to finish it. We left a $ 5 tip and spent $ 55 altogether. Would we be back? Maybe. Probably not. I enjoyed the décor more than the food.

Nachos are amazing. I was so happy to find this place and even more delighted with the big menu, lots of options, including many gluten free alternatives. Burger excellent. Omelet comforting and filling. House made proteins are spectacular. Oh yes I will definitely be back and am tempted to take things to go! I didn’t even mention the sweets in the case. ..

This place is a true gem! Regardless of dietary restrictions you can really appreciate the time and effort the owner puts in! I loved the happy hippie and it was soooo interesting then good then savory then where did it go!?! The mango cheese cake with almond and date crust is to die for! No gluten, raw, no sugar! Paleo &SCD friendly! And guess what she also sells paleo sauces! I didn’t know they had a fake soy sauce I could use!!! Eyes opened! Sign up for the newsletter, if you like vegan foods or all natural foods, go! It’s pricey but really it’s not, she uses all real raw ingredients. Thanks for making my tummy happy on my trip!

This is the best vegan café in town! We come here to enjoy treats, do homework and play Uno. Try the cookie dough bites, the raw fudge and nachos, the perfect combination! It’s pure awesomeness

This place is quaint, and feels very homey. They have a little kitchen to prepare foods, and they have very high food standards. We stopped looking for coffee, and they have an array of choices but they offer their versions. I got the Mountain Mocha, but it doesn’t have any syrups or anything like you’d find at Starbucks. They make it with either Cashew Milk or Coconut milk that she makes there. I got it with the cashew milk, and it’s not what I’m used to, so maybe someone will like it. My wife got the Coconut Chai, and it seemed heavy in the milk, but very subtle Chai, not enough. Overall, it seems like a cool place, but it’s REALLY expensive, its 5.75 for a 12 oz! I think I can find a reasonably healthy option for cheaper. Decide for yourself though

Simple Bliss is a legit vegan restaurant! My boyfriend who is not a vegan loved his classic vegan burger choice & hummus with chips. My Cajun burger was amazing. The coconut chai is so yummy it satisfied my sweet tooth. The portions are great for the prices so this is good value because ingredients are 100% organic & vegan. If anyone doesn’t think this is good value go the Whole Foods for over price food. This place sells nice selection of vegan food & nutrients… yeah! The ambiance is welcoming as so was the owner & staff. Found it by accident while vacationing in south Tahoe & so happy I found this hidden treasure. I’m a part-time vegan and highly recommend this vegan café to vegans & non-vegans.

Thank you Sandy! We loved our breakfast and I loved my two cashew milk lattes :) So happy we have a place we can bring our family to eat that is to the standard we eat at home. Organic, raw, NonGMO and vegan. We ordered the banana pecan french toast, pecan pancakes and the veggie omelet with a special request of the cashew hollandaise(there is a Home away from home :)

It was alright the girl did not seem interested in working their and the food was a bit overpriced. Which made it more expensive in my eyes.

Calling all Vegans, Vegetarians and Anyone who likes great food and great people. Everything here is environmentally friendly and they even have a small marketplace with toiletries and other items that are vegan and not tested on animals etc. The tables have chalkboard paint and chalk available to play games and UNO cards are all around to play that as well. Toys for the kids in boxes and some books as well. Its a nice little space to really relax and have some good food. We both had a veggie burger I got the spicier one and hubby regular and the pictures say 1,000 words. Both were very tasty but on the small side the melon side was so sweet it was like dessert. The meals and drinks are freshly prepared for you and brought to your table. Prices are on the higher side but the quality is there. The ginger Chai was really spicy just like I like it. There are several things I’d like to try on the menu and will swing back in as soon as I am back in Tahoe again.

What drew me to Simple Bliss is the fact that not only is it 100% vegan but they are also organic and non-GMO and offer raw options. A dream come true for me. I became vegan for the sake of the animals and through the process realized how vital it is to eat«clean». I love that so much of what they make is homemade including the cashew and coconut milk. The space is tiny and cozy and offers some extra seating outside. They also have a small«whole body» section of health & beauty products. My husband & I came to South Lake Tahoe for two days and stopped in and ate at Simple Bliss twice. The first evening we shared the grilled cheese and lentil burger and each had a raw sweet treat. I loved all of it but the grilled cheese with the homemade cashew cheese rocked my world as did the raw chocolate bliss bite! The next day we stopped in for a quick snack before heading to an event. I tried their Golden Mylk — steamed coconut milk, coconut oil & turmeric plus ginger. It was amazing. I felt like I could feel nutrients coursing through me immediately. I had the mini stack of chocolate pancakes too. Four small pancakes loaded with intensely flavored chocolate is a perfect snack size or to pair with a drink like I did. Just delicious! My husband could not stop raving about the almond butter & English muffin. I loved the cashew mylk latte as well. In response to those that feel the prices are too high, my thoughts are this — we can all pay a little more for delicious, healthy food now or we can pay later in the form of poor health & high health care costs. I choose good, healthy food now. Thanks Simple Bliss for giving me that option!

Im giving Simple Bliss 2 stars because they sell vegan facial & home products which I think is pretty darn cool … That being said the food sucks & is WAY … i mean WAY over priced. You gotta be rich to eat here. seriously. I want to support any vegan spot that I can but my god I’m not made of money! Iv given this place 3 different attempts in hopes they would prove me wrong. They failed miserably, the owner is rude & condescending, will basically call you stupid if you ask any questions. On my final attempt to eat here I asked the girl what the best thing on the menu was & told her I was super hungry she recommended the«Tahoe Burger» I went with it thinking why not. The burger was toddler sized & was 15 $ !!! & had like 3 things on it, what a waste of 15 $. This gives vegans a bad name. The prices are extreme ~ get over yourself. The owner needs an attitude adjustment… My husband thinks this restaurant is a front because he doesn’t understand how it stays afloat. give me my money back thanks.

This is my second time here and I’m back to try vegan crepes for breakfast :). Seeing all of the mixed reviews about this place had me curious and hesitant, but with very few vegan options, I gave it a chance. The cozy diner-like atmosphere is a casual setting. There is indoor and outdoor seating and they are very pet welcoming. At least in my case. They provided a doggie water bowl upon arrival. I will say this place is pricier than any vegan restaurant I’ve been too and I’ve been traveling all over the country(see my other reviews). A chai is 7 – 8 $. They provide cashew milk and coconut milk as their milk options. The cashew milk is supposedly made in house, so it’s fresh, but somewhat gritty. I got the Cajun burger on a gluten free bun and it was delicious! Tons of flavor for a lentil burger. No guilt because it’s vegan ;) it was $ 14 – 15. Everything here is expensive. Add avocado and its $ 2. Eek. Perhaps they can work in the price. Otherwise my experience was delicious. The employees are nice, but there’s a strange air that they might not be happy working here. I’m really sensitive so j pick up on strange things, but that’s only my perception. The food takes a minimum of 20 minutes to get. Both experiences. I always tell myself it’s because it’s super fresh and made to order ;) It’s not as bad as a lot of reviews say, but it does have some room to grow and better. Best wishes
