I love Mexican food! And eat it at least once a week. This place has some of the best tacos I have ever had. Do yourself a favor and eat here

My husband and I were looking for a quick and easy place to eat. Stateline is a touriet trap so finding something inexpensive isn’t that easy. Luckily for us, this was literally two doors down from our hotel. It’s a small little place but the food is out of this world. We got 2 asada tacos and 2 pollo tacos. We had to order seconds because it was delicious. Everything is made fresh including the salsa bar! We visited twice and each time we devouired our food before we could take pictures. Would recommend this place! Best tacos in town!

We were looking for authentic Mexican food and this seem to be the closest. The only thing I didn’t like was that the tacos come plain with everything on the side i.e. Cilantro onions salsa. Coming from the Bay Area im used to all that stuff being on my tacos. Another thing which is why I deducted one star is that they don’t sell alcohol!!! I was craving a negra modelo to go with my quesadilla de carne asada and My tacos de asada y una de lengua. My misses said she didn’t really like her burrito she ate the insides but not the outsides lol cannibal. It was a couple of blocks away from my hotel but worth the walk.

It was just okay. I ordered a super burrito and a taco, and the taco was pretty good. The taco was just meat and a slice of lime, and you can add salsas to it which makes it alright. The burrito was meh… the rice was plain white rice and none of the ingredients had much flavor. Prices aren’t bad, which is why I gave this place three stars.

Small little taqueria off the main drag, but well worth it. My boyfriend and I stopped in for lunch to try a couple tacos. He ordered the adobada tacos and I ordered carne asada tacos and a cheese quesadilla. We decided to eat there, which has about 6 large booths. Our order was brought out to us and presented with the meat, tortillas, and limes on the side. There’s a salsa bar behind the door that offers a variety of salsas. Even without salsa, the tacos were fantastic. Tender meat and soft yet slightly crispy tortillas. The pico de gallo was good as well as the smokey chipotle salsa. The quesadilla was packed with Monterey Jack cheese and huge. We left full and happy.

Good carne asada tacos, very reasonable prices, walking distance from our motel room, great choice for taking good, tasty Mexican food back to your room, specially when it’s snowing.

A piece of heaven. Ok the outside looks bad and the inside too because is a very tiny restaurant attach to a hotel. Do not let the looks deceive you. If you give it a change you will receive a great service and like I mention before a piece of heaven. We had to walk some time to get to this restaurant we went once and when I finish my meal at the hotel I was very itself it was done. We walk again. This tacos are addicting! The horchata was amazing!

We went here based on Unilocal reviews. Food was mediocre. No chili rellneos. Burrito seemed disorganized and ingredients not well dispersed(giant lump of sour cream in middle). Adobada tacos were ok, but the mini tortillas they came in were a bit soggy and disappointing. No guac here either. It is good to have a cheap mexican place around, but I feel like I’m not eating the same food as everyone else who is writing a review. Maybe it was an off day for them.

We went here to try it based on Unilocal reviews and it was very close by, it did not disappoint. We tried the asada, carnitas, chorizo, and cabeza tacos and we liked them all. It’s a really small place with good prices. Plus it’s always nice to support local businesses. Would definitely come back but not on Wednesday because they are closed. :)

My boyfriend had showed me this place just a few days ago and I’ve been back three times this week. Their burrito bowl is so yummy. The only thing I don’t like is its $ 1 extra to add chicken and they give you like two pieces. Not worth it

My torta ahogada was wonderful. I wish wet sandwiches were more of a thing. I’ve had a few others but this was the best. The sauce was quite flavorful and the carnitas within meshed well. Check it out!

BLAND, STINGYANDCASHONLY Went here tonight and I got a burrito. It was not large like other reviewers said. It was on the average size. There was very little meat in the burrito. Bland and tasteless. Salsa was also bland(wtf?) the cups for the salsa bar have to be handed to you by the man working. STINGY. No chips. STINGY. NOVISIBLEHEALTHCODERATING. Gross Boyfriend got 3 tacos and they were tiny and just contained some dry dusty ass asada meat. No cilantro. No onions. No nothing. Only 1 man working there so it took awhile to get our small order. I was dehydrated and the wait was taking forever and the man working told me no free water. Umm okay? Tap water from the sink would have been acceptable. STINGY. DONOTRECOMMEND. GOELSEWHERE. I’m from Southern California where we have bomb Mexican food. The Mexican food in Tahoe is not on point. Maya’s on Tahoe Blvd was only slightly better than this place.

We tried a few of the tacos and it was delicious! I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a small bite or something. Prices are great as well. Service was good and the place was small, but clean. They have a station for sauce, which is great because you can choose the amount you want and what not. This place was good to the point where we’re about to come back the next day. I will definitely try their other options on the next visit. I’m someone who doesn’t eat much so two tacos is a good amount and three would be the max haha. Didn’t get a chance to take a picture, but will remember to next time. If you’re in the area, try it out! I’m usually not satisfied with my taco cravings, but this place did the job so that tells you something!

Food was poor to OK, but certainly not memorable. Tacos were priced right at $ 1.25, but lacked any form of seasoning. Burrito was plain and the rice was overpowering(in only bad ways). Service was friendly, when present(which was infrequent). I had high hopes, given the existing ratings, but I have to say this place does not live up to the minimum bar for a good taco joint.

Had the adobada(marinated beef) taco. Delicious. Tacos and burritos are a great deal. Jamaica(hibiscus) agua fresca was tasty and refreshing. Just a short walk from the Heavenly Valley gondolas. Cash only, but you don’t need much to get filled up!

Really wanted to like this place as it looks like it should have some of the most amazing food ever from the hole-in-the-wall décor to the complete lack of Sanitation Grade in the window. The kitchen area was surprisingly clean as it is a tiny area and establishment, but we were pleased anyway that while the eating area wasn’t super clean, it wasn’t nasty either. Sadly that’s where the buck stops in terms of positive things to say. Tacos are advertised at $ 1.25, but no clue what a handful are commenting on in terms of size– they’re the typical happy-hour mini corn shells, but in terms of filling they come with one to one and a half tablespoons(being generous) of filling, which is meat of some sort and nothing else. Our group ate family style and tried every taco they had from tongue to what they were calling«cabeza»(head) and split a couple burritos and bowls. Aside from the chorizo that was more grease than anything else, everything was overcooked and under-seasoned. Tacos come with meat only– although there is a side bar that has red and green salsas, shredded cabbage, diced onion and cilantro and a pico de gallo — all of which are fresh and quite possibly the only things safe to eat here. Given the price of their burritos and bowls $ 5.50 — $ 8.00 or so(just about $ 1-$ 1.50 or so less than Azul, which while not«authentic» Mexican food IS much tastier for the most part and safer to digest) we were all shocked that everything had the same bland, tasteless flavor. Sadly every one of us got a mild case of food-poisoning(not vomiting thank god, but diarrhea all around), which leads me to think that given the cleanliness of the kitchen, it has to have something to do with the meats and why they’re cooked to the point of blandness.

Came to South Lake Tahoe on vacation with my girlfriend & we stumbled upon this taqueria down the street from our hotel. The owner is absolutely friendly & the food was great. As a Mexican we like to stick to our comfort food & this place did the job. We got a carne asada quesadilla, a huge burrito, 4 tacos, & two horachatas for $ 20. Tacos are $ 1.25 each and they’re pretty big tacos. The only reason I didn’t give the place a 5 star is because the asada was missing a little flavor & the sauces were quite sweet rather than spicy. Overall a great place though. I recommend it.

Small Mexican taco shop located adjacent to a motel. Take note that they’re located off the main road, but not visible from Lake Tahoe Blvd. Service was fast & friendly, food was good, portions were large, and prices were reasonable. They have limited seating inside & very minimal parking space, but it’s a good place to go if you’re just looking to have a quick bite.

I am staying across the street and this little taco restaurant caught my attention. They have a sign on the window that says«$ 1.00 tacos.» So my friends and I decided, we must try! They have 8 different kind of meat choices: Adobado, aldilla, Asada, cabeza, carnitas, chorizo, lengua, and pollo. Since it was a dollar, I had to try all 8! All was good except for the pollo. It was a little bitter. I never tried bitter pollo. Honesty this place is pretty good. The owner is pretty nice! He convinced my friend to try their horchata. She is pretty satisfied with it and I t was only a dollar. I tried their Jamaica juice. Not bad. It wasn’t too sweet like other places. They deserve the four stars! Definitely coming back when I come visit South Lake Tahoe

The people were nice, the menu is limited, very limited. I wasn’t happy with the food. The experience overall was good, or at least not bad. I personally thought the food was pretty gross. I ordered the super burrito with carnitas and all I could taste was refried beans. There was really no other flavor than refried beans. My review is based on my dislike for the quality of the food. Overall the experience was positive aside from the taste of the food.
