Bacon waffle, delish! My husband had the eggs Benedict and enjoyed them. We would go back for breakfast there.

We stopped in for breakfast this morning. The place was full, so we didn’t mind waiting to be seated. It’s a small place, but they make good use of the space. I had the blueberry pancakes; my husband had an omelette. He’s an omelette connoisseur, and was very pleased with his meal. I love blueberry pancakes, but so many places that serve them don’t make good ones. Red Hut got it right. Their menu board listed«fresh blueberry» pancakes and they weren’t kidding. Good quality, tiny place. You might have to wait a few minutes to get seated, but you’ll be glad you chose to eat here.

This little hole in the wall breakfast place is awesome. Everything my wife and I have had is delicious. Pancakes, waffles, fries eggs, hashed Browns, biscuits n gravy. It’s all so good. We definitely make an effort to eat here every time we’re in SLT

Awesome food and right away I felt like it was an auntie serving me. I love that. Big enough portions– especially the Texas French toast! Worth the 1.6 mile bike ride!

AMAZING! Had breakfast here two days in a row… both times, top notch! The Oreo shake is the best(and they give you the extra in a tin cup which makes it more special). People who work here seem genuinely happy and that really does show in their customer service. Both times, we had the most courteous staff. Would definitely go again when in the Tahoe area

Usually I eat breakfast here, and it’s very tasty, but the burgers were terrible, and if you add anything extra, like grilled mushrooms, or avocado, they charge $ 1per item added, and if you want ranch or bbq sauce for dipping they are .$ 25/each. With all of the extra charges, as we ordered I thought oh well, the breakfast is always excellent so I’m sure the burgers will be too, I was very wrong. The burgers had a spongy, mushy, texture as tho they had been microwaved, the buns were huge patty was small. They were gross, and my bill came to $ 50+ tip for three people. I will never eat here again.

So this was a great little find to add to our breakfast lineup when we visit the south shore. We were surprised we hadn’t ever been there. Quaint little building. We must have lucked out. We got there at ten to ten on a Sunday and had no wait to be seated. Three other tables were seated at the same time as us, yet the service was very quick. The ladies that worked there were super friendly. I had one of the breakfast specials the Red Hut Rosti. It was delicious. Cooked just how I like it. Crispy on the outside hash browns and tender in the middle. I had mine with bacon and an over medium egg on top. It was very good. I saw the French toast and biscuits and gravy go by our table and they looked amazing. Definitely makes me want to come back and try something else!

After a great night stay in SLT, on 3÷20÷15 Sunday morning, the husband and I were searching for a nice breakfast stop before we headed back home. A nice gentleman, who worked at the hotel we stayed at, had recommended The Red Hut Café(ORIGINAL) since we were looking for brunch type of foods. My internet connection was poor so I could not browse through photos and review so he recommended a different restaurant, which we had our eyes set out. After we drove off, I was curious and received better service and pulled in by all the good looking food. I had my husband pull off to the side for a second so he can look because I knew that after he looked the photos, he would agree we should change our minds. In fact, based off the photos, he already decided what he was going to order. After that long introduction to how we arrived to our decision, we made it to brunch. You could easily miss pulling into the small parking lot since it’s on the busy Lake Tahoe Blvd. There’s not that many spaces to park but you could pretty much get creative, so long as you don’t impede customers from getting in and out. It’s a cute little bungalow, and as I was told, «It’s like walking into grandm’a kitchen». I walked in asking for a table of 2 and was told the wait was 30 mins; they sat us in 15. The turnover seems pretty fast so don’t be turned off by it; Or maybe we were lucky. We sat down at our(slanted) table — assuming it’s due to the grounds on which it’s built — and a sweet lady took our order. She was so cute, I adored her presence! Here were our orders: Husband: Red Hut Rosti(Hash browns covered with melted cheese, choice of ham, bacon, or sausage, sour cream and green onions $ 7.99 Add an egg for $ 1. Loaded with all 3 meats $ 9.99) — He went with the sausage, added an egg and avocado. He absolutely loved every bite. I’m not a huge fan of cheese but I did try a little bit and he reserved some untouched hash browns for me on the side. Two thumbs up! Myself — French Toast Special(3 pieces of French toast and 1 egg $ 8.99(texas, blueberry streusel, white, wheat, sourdough, raisin) served with 2 pieces of bacon or sausage $ 10.99) — I went with the blueberry streusel toast(recommended) with a sunny side up egg(they call it a bubble egg!) and when asked if I wanted bacon or sausage, I was caught in between choices and the nice lady said«How about one of each?!» I find that usually restaurants will tell you«No, I’m sorry we can do that. You have to choose one» and It’s rather annoying because WHYNOT?! So that made me love this restaurant even more! It even came with boysenberry syrup, yum =) Our food arrived pretty quickly, hence fast turnover rate. We devoured it. It was the perfect amount of food since we had to endure a 4 hour drive home and didn’t want to be uncomfortable. Everything was delicious and I would come back here again. This is not your hipster-wait for an hour for fancy brunch in SF so don’t expect anything over the top. It’s traditional breakfast food that you can get for a good value, along with good quality and good service. Thanks for a great end to a great weekend, Red Hut!

Good food for a good price. The service is homely phenomenal! Biscuits and gravy were AMAZING. The Red Hut Rosti was alright. Good concept but it’s just diner presentation. French toast was okay too.

Quaint local establishment off of South Lake Blvd. it was only 3 minutes from our rental home so we had to stop in on our early morning Sunday adventure before hitting the slopes. Food was yummy! I had the«Usual» breakfast which included 2 eggs, hash browns & biscuits & gravy. Being a southern gal myself, I would have to say that no one can beat my Grandma’s gravy but this was a yummy replacement. Since my boyfriend and I are observers of people, we did appreciate the motherly atmosphere. All the ladies waiting on tables were attentive to the regular customers, remembering birthdays and names. They also made sure our water and coffees were always filled. Only reason I have to give this place 4 stars is because they forgot about my boyfriend’s small orange juice. I would encourage you to go to this one over the fancy one in downtown by Heavenly. This one was more 50s diner than commercial & corperate.

We were so happy we stopped in here. As my boyfriend put it they hit their service out of the ballpark. I ordered Don’s special and thought everything was spot on. For breakfast food it’s everything you want. 2 perfectly cooked fluffy pancakes, delicious bacon and eggs. My boyfriend got the red hut rosti and absolutely loved it. Very delicious food, great atmosphere, really amazing service. Arnold Palmer ++

The wait can be a little long but this is american comfort food at it’s finest. I had the loaded hashbrown thing(rosti) and it was precisely as enjoyable as it might seem. No frills. Lots of cheese. The lot outside gets a little treacherous in the snow, so watch out. My friends and I spent a solid 20 minutes getting my car unstuck, which, on the plus side, made the wait for our table more exciting.

Awesome breakfast. Get there early for no wait. We got there around 8:30 on Sunday morning and it wasn’t too busy. But by the time we left, there were a lot of people on the waiting room for a table. We got dons special, asparagus omelette, kids #1, and Mickey Mouse pancakes. All of it was delicious.

At first I didn’t want to come here for breakfast after reading all of the reviews about how long the wait is. But then I counted to 10 and realized; majority of restaurants that are going to be good will have a 20−40min wait. R E S T A U R A N T There was a 30mins wait, but we probably on waited for about 15mins to be seated. The inside of it reminds you of a ski lift or something of that nature! They really cool decorations placed everywhere, mainly on the ceilings! Once your done with your meal, there’s a really cool desert shop connected to the front entrance. Have all types of ice cream and can make any type of cone! S E R V I C E This is where the red hut feel short of at least a 4th star from me. When we were be walked to our seats, the way the waitress told us the special was by pointing at the special menu on the wall– that was being blocked by the coffee machines. So o had to keep leaning over my seat to read the specials. That really did suck for me. And they barley came to check on our table to ask for more water or even see how we were enjoying their service. F O O D The food could have earned them a 4th star as well for how good that French Toast and Bacon was! But they’re being stingy and only give you 1 single egg per meal and for an extra egg it’s $ 1. Their most popular meal the Red Hut Rösti was pretty good, if you like Hashbrowns and a lot of cheese on top with a few couple slices of ham on top and a egg. Definitely need hot sauce for flavor to it.

This place was PERFECT! Customer service was fantastic. The ladies working there are kind, joyful and personable in a way that I don’t think I have ever experienced before. Coming from the Bay Area, I have had my share of trying new restaurants, but this place beat any restaurant in the bay’s customer service by a long shot. Water was filled every few minutes. We were greeted with big smiles and felt welcomed and appreciated the entire time. I’m in awe. The food was delicious. I had biscuits and gravy with eggs and hash browns, and a side waffle. The waffle came with real maple syrup. The condiments on the table were also perfect — choices of hot sauces! I will post a picture.

I came here just the other day and it was a wonderful start to my Tahoe trip. After researching on Unilocal,I decided what I wanted to order prior to coming here. So, I ordered the Rosti and I was very content with my dish. It came with a good portion size and the sour cream with all the meat options made my dish complete. Also, I mean, who could say no to hash browns! My friend ordered Don’s special and he couldn’t stop raving about the eggs and how well cooked they were! He didn’t like the pancakes as much which is why I’m docking a star as well as the bacon was a bit over cooked for my liking. But besides the tiny flaw, I had a great brunch here and I’m definitely coming back!

Eu e meu esposo adoramos o lugar. Boa comida e o clima muito agradável. As panquecas e os waffles com frutas frescas são ótimas escolhas.
