Been coming here since I was a little kid. Its a great spot for a sandwich before heading down to the beach. Great spot for a quick lunch break. Classic and creative sandwiches on the menu. If you’re into supporting local business, and not waiting 40 minutes for your food, then get your sandwich here and skip the line at the Raleys deli!

Great service and product. Ordered 12 sandwiches and picked them up on time and, the folks loved them. Thanks Tahoe Keys Deli, great job! ! So, after everyone ate i learned that there was a problem with one of the sandwiches. I went back and spoke with the owner, a very gracious man who refunded the price of the sandwich and gave me a cookie to pass on to the eater. Again, great place and even better customer service.

Good sandwiches located off the beaten path. They are nothing fancy but still great. We always come here when we are in town. Great service and prices are reasonable for a good sandwich. The hours of operation are kinda weird but I guess since it’s a small place they can do it. Wished they were open later.

Pretty good food, but the rudest service in town. I would eat here all the time if the employees didn’t treat me like an inconvience. Treating a customer poorly can be forgiven once. Unfortunately this is about the 5th time I’ve received rude service here, so I won’t be coming back.

7÷6÷2014UPDATE! It’s TAHOEKEYSDELICATESSENTHAT I VISITED! I was recently informed, so here… I’m placing the review where it belongs :-) It was filled with sports décor and real estate ads. Very odd mix, but screams local. It’s crowded with having 6 people in there. Why would you want to be inside when the weather is so nice? I ordered a turkey sandwich. Kept my expectations neutral. Something along the lines of what I could make at home, but won’t because the ingredients will cost me an arm and a leg. Surprise! The sandwich was pretty big. Good for two people. The bread was nice and soft. Who wants bread that fights back… ahem, dutch crunch! I didn’t get any fancy kind of bread. Honestly, I don’t know if it was even an option. Doesn’t matter. The bread for my sandwich was perfect! The turkey was great! The pickle worked complemented the sandwich. I was impressed. It looked like an ordinary turkey sandwich, but it wasn’t! Sneaky, in a fantastic way. Listening to the chit chat and other customers, it really is where the locals go. It’s nice to see places like these are around. A hidden gem. Really, we had to double back to find it. We came through the back side of the plaza. LOL!

Awesome food, friendly staff. Great little local spot, good sized menu, large drink selection, daily specials, hot soup. Everything is made fresh in front of you. This place can get quite busy around lunch time, but it’s well worth the wait.

If Unilocal had a way to give negative stars, only then would I be satisfied with this review. The sandwiches are really nothing special which is fine from time to time but nothing different from any other iceberg lettuce, white bread deli sandwich. The kicker for this place is their complete inability to provide even decent customer service. The story goes like this: My friend is lactose intolerant. Dairy makes her world a terrible place to live. Simple enough. For another friends birthday, we decide to go blast off some rounds in the remote Nevada desert and pick up some sandwiches on the way out of town. I call in the order and the girl on the other end sounded annoyed that I called and proceeded to give a bland, huffy puffy conversation. I ordered my friend the veggie without cheese because my friend is lactose intolerant. She thoughtfully explained that there’s mayo in the avocado. That’s a thumbs up– thanks for that useful tidbit bad customer service girl. But then she blows it again by saying that my friend would never know the difference. What? There are so many things wrong with that suggestion. So we finish the order and when I hung up I turned to my friends and said«Man, she actually made me feel I was bothering her.» Whatever was our sentiment. We picked them up and were on our way to the middle of nowhere. A couple hours rolls by and it’s time for lunch! Can you guess what happens next? Yup, her sandwich had CHEESE, AVOWITHMAYO, ANDBASICMAYO. Awesome. So I called to let the girl know what happened. Her response was«I don’t make the sandwiches.» No sorry. I was pretty fuming by is point. She could sense that and asked if I wanted to talk to the manager. He apologized and said to stop in to get my money back. Cool. Whatever. What’s done is done, so long as I don’t have to pay for it. That was last week. I just stopped by to pick up my money. I was friendly and the owner remembered my situation. I used the word vegan in my description of the sandwich. He then proceeds to tell me that they don’t really do vegan sandwiches. I said you can’t just not put on cheese and avocado? He says with this jerk smirk on his face, «yeah, we try but…» I couldn’t even let him finish! What? You have a hard time not putting cheese on a sandwich?! What? I ordered four Tahoe’s and a veggie without cheese and mayo. Apparently, that’s difficult. Oh and he also handed me $ 6 bucks instead of $ 6.85. The owner of this place couldn’t even give me a full refund for their mistake. Sleazy.

The sandwiches from this place are so-so. They are typical run of the mill slapped together squashed looking meat/cheese/ice burg lettuce concoctions. The thing that sets this place apart from somewhere like Subway is the customer service– and that isn’t meant in a good way. This establishment is okay with serving customers foods that they specifically ask not to have– even when there are allergies involved. Patrons are treated like they are inconveniencing the staff when they order their sandwiches and the owner is not interested in making things right when his staff makes mistakes. My sister in law specifically asked that there be no dairy in a sandwich, and the woman taking the order said«there’s mayo with the avocado, but don’t worry no one will notice». Seriously? South Shore has many many MANY other places that deserve your money much more than this hole.

Good sandwiches at a good price! It’s nice to know that in this tourist town you can still find a place that doesn’t try to charge you $ 10 for a measly sandwich. At TK you get a simple, yummy sandwich for about $ 5 as it should be. I like the Tahoe Turkey, Combo and the Turkey Avocado. And the people that work there are really nice and they take the time to talk to you about what you do and who you are etc. like a small town joint should be, and not like these tourist joints that just assume you’ll be gone from here in two days anyway so who cares!?!

We ordered there special turkey sandwich. The bread was very fresh and was really surprised that it came with thick delicious bacon slices. The 12 inch was big enough to split between 2 people. The service was great.

I don’t understand the 4 and 5 star ratings. Perhaps these folks have never had a sandwich before visiting South Lake Tahoe. Expand your horizons, people! The sandwiches are pretty good, but they’re no different than any other decent deli sandwich. They consist of fresh bread, meat, cheese, lettuce, onions, tomato, mayo and mustard. Exotic, huh?! However, the TK Deli isn’t too bad for South Lake Tahoe(where SO many places truly suck). Call the food THREE stars. Not great, but probably better than Subway. Recently, we had two«small»(6 inch) sandwiches and one soda, and the total was $ 14.59. Prices are reasonable. The guy that owns the place has always been friendly, but his help has not been the sharpest. The girl that recently waited on us got the details of our order wrong, and she interrupted our order to take a phone order without so much as an excuse-me-just-a-minute. She also«broke» the cash register just before our order, so she was freaking out and holding up the few of us who were trying to order. Lastly, she told us that our lunch was ready, but I repeatedly walked up to the counter to pick it up, but it actually was NOT ready. She had confused our order as a to-go, but we had ordered it to eat there. So, I have to give her ZERO stars for service.(However, she had just about the darkest tan I’ve ever seen on an Anglo-American; give her 4.5 stars for sitting on the beach for hours. Really a beautiful complexion. Nice work on that count.) Overall, I’d like to give this place maybe 2.5 stars, but I’ll round down to offset the other irrational 5-star ratings.(Note that the 5-star ratings are supported by only 1 or 2 sentences. With all due respect to my fellow Unilocalers, this doesn’t make for a very strong case.) Also note: this place is VERY tiny — as in about 4 tables — so don’t bring a big group. If you’re looking for a really good deli sandwich in South Lake Tahoe, the Cork and More is a much better choice:
