First time coming here. Pizza was really good. It’s thin but with a thick crust. Portioned cut just right. The prices are fare if you’re budget conscious. Very decent place. Very family orientated. Great spot for teenagers to go eat while hanging by the mall. They do have beer. I was seated promptly and our order didn’t take long. The staff was friendly. Over all I was satisfied. I will come here again for sure to try order menu options besides the pizza. A lot of restaurants in that area can be a bit pricey at times especially when you have kids. And shopping gets me hungry

Came with a group of 6 at 10:50 pm expecting the restaurants hours to not have changed. We were treated so rudely and the place was empty so we asked as we were being seating what time they closed. Found out it was 11. So we walked out. What used to be a great place to grab a late night pizza and beer turned into a chuck-e-cheeses. This was on a Friday night.

I think I’ve finally pushed Mellow Mushroom out of my head, for good. After two visits, the meh-ness is too hard to ignore. I’m not sure I can even legitimately recommend it as a place to go grab a beer, much less a pizza. To elaborate: Mellow Mushroom is a chain that has a reputation for offering an excellent selection of beer at its stores. The first time I went here, it was decent. The bartender offered me a beer list, and I chose Sweet Potato Casserole from the Funky Buddha, a perennial favorite. The second visit, not only did the bartender NOT offer me a beer list, even after I asked for it, he really had no idea what was on tap, because the draft lines were all mixed up and many of the kegs were kicked. This may not have been entirely his fault, but from a customer’s perspective, it didn’t matter whose fault it was, as it still sucked either way — this isn’t indicative of a well-managed bar. Now this was his fault — to compound the problem, he tried to sell me on beer by asking me «what kind of beers do you like?» instead of just TELLINGME what was on tap. I even tried to play this stupid game… I said something like«anything interesting and/or barrel-aged.» The guy then offered me three IPAs. Visibly frustrated, I just said I’ll stick with water. If you know me, you are aware that I typically give«service» a very wide latitude. It takes quite a lot to frustrate or annoy me. This was both. Look, I was exploring the world of craft beer when this dude was in middle school. What I choose to drink or not drink is going to be entirely based on what you have available. What I did not need was this patronizing attempt at a craft beer education. I’d be willing to forgive this if the pizza was awesome. It wasn’t. I ordered the BBQ chicken pizza. The toppings were tasty; however, this place skimped on them a bit, especially in relation to the crust. The crust-to-topping ratio was too high. Compounding this problem was that the«crust» was way too doughy, almost to the point of being undercooked. I don’t like overly crunchy, burnt crusts either, of course, but this was the opposite extreme. Doughy crust and too much of it — that pretty much sums up my opinion of Mellow Mushroom’s pizza. This place doesn’t even begin to compete with our regular pizza joint, not even as an occasional change of pace.

Let me start by saying this rating is based on service and experience. The food was good. The soup was tasty the wings were great and the pizza was delicious. But i don’t think that excuses having to wait over an hour for a pizza and bad attitudes. When we walked in it was fairly full, we were seated within 15 minutes which was great and were greeted right away. We ordered appetizers and 2 pizzas. Our appetizer arrived within 20 minutes which was okay seeing as they were full we weren’t given plates to eat the appetizer on but we let that slide our waitress looked busy. 40 minutes later still no pizza my dad had to ask the waitress she said they’ll be out in a bit and came back to tell us they had messed up in the kitchen and it would be 10 more minutes. 10 minutes later we still have no pizza. I got up to ask our waitress and the manager tells me they’re coming, at this point i tell him its been an hour and he very rudely looks at me and goes«an hour!?!» so i tell him yes go ahead and ask your waitress. This is in no way to treat your customers. you do not talk to them so rudely when they’ve been waiting for your to fix the mess your kitchen made. 10 minutes later we received our pizzas they were still wrong. They were taken off the check and we didn’t have to pay for them. Had we been treated nicely and the manager come over to apologize I could have let it go but if you can’t be kind to your customer maybe find another line of work where you don’t have to interact with people. I won’t be coming back.

Really, really cool place with awesome pizzas. Different pizzas than normal restaurants — awesome. Another really fun thing to order are their delicious sandwiches. Cool place for everyone for sure.

This Mellow Mushroom location is in downtown South Miami and has ample seating. I went on a Saturday afternoon with a large group and we were seating quickly. The food is decent and the service is reasonable considering the crowd. The server said that even the smaller single swerve sized pizzas can be split toppings, allowing you to have more variety.

Been here twice already and I’ve truly enjoyed myself each time– they have a long list of beers on tap(and wonderful beer specials) and their pizzas are delicious!!! So far I’ve tried their house special and their Holy Shiitake pies– I highly recommend both! The servers and hosts are very friendly and helpful!

Hearing comrades of mine rant and rave about their local Mellow Mushrooms I decided to drop in and give it a try when I came across the new location in Sunset. Wow, what a mistake. I’m going to after with Frank and say everyone here moves at a glacier pace. There’s no sense of urgency. I sat wondering how that could be considering the amount of servers on the floor? But unbeknownst to me, no one really cared. My sissy and I were immediately say by a hostess typing away on her cellphone in the front of the restaurant??? I mean, I knows it’s dead, but mama take it from someone who knows that’s never a good look. We were greeted by our server Stephen and was completely underwhelmed by his lack of enthusiasm lol. I laugh because I don’t know guys, maybe I’m just a terrible food companion considering I’m in the industry and harshly judge others. We order two waters with lemons and he walks away mid sentence and utters«see you soon» I shit you not… not returning for another 10 minutes. Not so soon Stephen! I’ll give the mushroom this, it’s got an insane amount of vegetarian options which I found totally cool! We ordered the spinach and artichoke which was lack luster and had to be livened up with some sal pepino y red peppah flakes. A few menu items caught my attention so we decided to get two plates and go halfsies. We decided to try the avocado hoagie and went with a small Magic Mystery Tour pizza. Let me start off by saying the food was mediocre. It lacked flavor and the execution of the dishes was simply not there. My pizza stated it was a pesto base with button and portobello mushrooms alongside feta and mozzarella, spinach and jalapenos. Now, I get my pizza and it looks appetizing but where’s the portobello? And the pesto? Oh oh and the spinach? I mean, everything that sold this pizza to me is missing? Too bad I can’t tell my server because he’s legitimately across the restaurant talking to everyone and not paying any mind to his one table who hasn’t had water for the last 20 minutes and missing half their toppings on a specially order pizza. No big deal right? /shouldershrug Then my avocado hoagie hits the table and he brings me a half instead of whole…-violenteyeroll– Stephen!!! There’s one thing ya don’t do and ya don’t fluck with the avocahoe’s avocado!!! –whispers/it’s not really that big of a deal, it’s an easily fixed mistake…- 15 mins later my other half of what seemingly is, unseasoned avocado, onions, non melted provolone and an insane amount of sprouts hits the table. Does it go without saying I’m not amused? Yes? Awesome just checking. The sandwich was bland af. What saved the hoagie was the bread aside from that I would probably never order this dish again. In what turned into a longer review than intended, allow me to share to just keep walking next time guys and hit Panera Bread where you’re more likely to get better service and tasty food. This lil lassy will not keep shroomin’

I had previously been to a different Mellow Mushroom location(perhaps in City Place West Palm?) That time I had the Bruschetta and the Shitake Mushroom with white sauce pizza. 5 stars for that particular pizza. It was delicious. Recently however, I visited the Sunset Place location and the food left plenty to be desired. I had a half Veggie lovers(without tofu and without broccoli) and half Mighty Meaty pizza. I didn’t like either side. I was so bummed :(I think its because the crust and sauce were bland. But the toppings weren’t flavorful either. I hope it was just a fluke. I also had the Hummus with pita bread appetizer and it was meh. Tasted like it came straight out of a jar and the pita was cold. The location is nice, clean and there is ample seating. The service was friendly from beginning to end too. It is very unfortunate that the food was lackluster.

«Hold on a minute. I’m writing a review of myself» said the hostess the afternoon of December 19th, when we told her we were there for pickup.(I think I actually found it under the tips section.) Kindof an odd first impression… I used to go to the one in my college town all the time, so I was excited when this location opened, and in a pretty convenient spot for us. Somehow though, this was the first experience. My husband ordered what seemed to be a «supreme» though he said it wasn’t called that, and it did have a lot more on it than a traditional supreme. The toppings were really loaded on there which made the pizza nice and filling. The most important part? The crust was deliciously crunchy! A good crust is definitely key and will have me going back for more. Also, I have to say we couldn’t eat it all for one meal, but the pizza also reheats great in the oven. Yum yum.

I don’t know if I was always drunk in college and absolutely loved this pizza or if my taste buds have changed over time, but this Mellow Mushroom was not what I remembered it to be in college. We started off with the bruschetta which was really tasty! And what made it even better was that it was free since Unilocal has a free bruschetta coupon. I then ordered a mushroom pizza which was just okay. I remember the crust of the pizza being a succulent, garlicky piece of heaven but it was nothing as my past experience at other locations. We went on a Wednesday night so it was empty but there was an annoying trivia happening at the bar which was extremely loud. Out server was extremely pleasant and provided excellent service. I would come back to this location to try it out again, but for my first time at this location sadly I was not impressed.

Had a late lunch here with a friend. We arrived at around 3:30 and the place was fairly empty. We waited about 10 minutes before anyone realized we were there. Once we sat down, our waitress was very attentive. We started off with Spinach Artichoke dip. It was tasty… I didn’t like that they charged us for additional garlic toasts and didn’t tell us it was extra. We ordered a pizza and were able to do half Funky Q Chicken and half Thai Dye. I was expecting a little more… The flavors were alright but nothing I would order again. They did have a good happy hour menu for drinks.

Foodgasm alert!!! This place is freaking delicious!!! I loved everything: the food, the ambience, the service… Sara was my waitress and she was so nice and attentive! She honored my free bruschetta… My god that thing was amazing! Toast with tomatoes + balsamic drizzle+feta cheese= happy tummy. Not only that we had the great white pizza & shrimp hoagies! The pizza crust alone was delicious it is very garlicky, which I love. I’m obsessed with garlic! The hoagie was good too! Whoever thought of pesto mayo is a genius! Oh & try some of their cocktails, you won’t regret it! I had the one with strawberries and the other was the Maui one with coconut. I will definitely be coming back here!

I am baffled by the shoddy reviews this place received. My experience was nothing short of delightful! We went on a Sunday afternoon and although their TVs were blasting the football game, the bartender made every effort to make us comfortable. He offered to lower the volume or change the channel, but we opted to sit outside instead. He then proceeded to verify that everything we ordered was made vegan; making multiple trips back to the kitchen to inquire with the the chef. Ready for the best part? As I checked us into Unilocal,A coupon for a free bruschetta appeared on the Unilocal app. We quickly asked our waiter to cancel our hummus appetizer, and he gladly swapped it for the free bruschetta. Score! The pizza was divine with a semi-soft crust toasted to perfection! I asked for a side of red sauce so I can eat any leftover crust. We ordered the Mellow Veggie pizza made vegan with Daiya cheese. Of course, a pint of beer is a necessary adjunct to any pizza slice, so when I glanced over the tap list, I was elated to see at least three Funky Buddhas brews on tap. Fast and friendly service, delicious pizza and craft beer! Sans one star for having to park in the overcrowded and snobby neighborhood of Sunset Place.

We were first introduced to the Mellow Mushroom chain a few years ago in Asheville. We enjoyed the food there and it was no different here. But it’s just a tad more than a-ok. We shared a Gourmet White pizza with a pesto swirl. It was yummy, and I do like their crust. My husband also ordered the Dooban sandwich and he really enjoyed that. The Magic Mushroom Soup was very flavorful. But you get about a ladle-full in a gigantic bowl. Oh, and we got the FREE Bruschetta with our Unilocal Check-In. Mind you, it’s not your classic bruschetta but it was very good. Their version is sprinkled with feta cheese and a balsamic drizzle. Very tasty. Their giant Choco-chip cookie was really, really good. Warm and very fresh. For a buck more, you can make it a cookie sundae. While the food was all good, nothing was really spectacular. Our server was extremely upbeat and attentive. She offered various beer samples and made good recommendations. We were there on a Tuesday and all pints were $ 3. The restaurant is clean and the décor is cute. I am familiar with their price point, yet I still find it to be on the high side. Particularly for the ladle of soup at $ 5. Half a Dooban sandwich with a bag of chips was $ 9 and a small 10″ pizza at almost $ 13, with no meat. I would go 3.5 stars overall.(come on Unilocal, give us half stars). If in the area I would stop in. Especially for $ 3 pints! :)

This place seriously had me wondering if I had mistakenly walked into a rebranded CiCi’s pizza! But had I… I wouldn’t have been charged $ 1.29 for a side of Jalapenos! We were seated quickly, which was nice. However, it was so noisy in there, all else went due south. They seriously need some ceiling treatments. Big industrial spaces like those always need acoustic ceiling tiles to keep the noise at bay. With all the kids and parties of 10 in there we practically had to shout. The servers were all very nice. Thanks Coco! But the food and drinks were delivered at a positiivly glacial pace. Beers took way too long to get. These weren’t slow pour nitrogenated pints that take minutes to achieve the proper head. This was… beer. The pizza itself was tasty. Though I did find the dough to be somewhat overworked and a bit tough. The issue was the slowness is getting them. We were told pies take about 30 mins. Which really is unacceptable. You have restaurants like Blaze firing them out in under 5 minutes. I think the main culprit is the ovens themselves. They are traditional pizza ovens so they don’t get hot enough. And every time you open those doors the temps go down. They need to get with modern age and invest in quality conveyor ovens. That way they can keep up with the demand. For the price, I would say this place doesn’t warrant a return trip. Between the slow service, high prices, and insane noise level I will be looking for another pizza joint.

I’m meeting my friend for a late dinner and we figured Mellow Mushroom is a pretty good option: delicious pizzas, plenty of beers, open till late and close to where she stays at. Due to some flight delay she got in much later than expected. I called MM, and was informed that they close at midnight(even though the website says 2am) and last order is 11:30pm. We walked in at 11:20, we even checked out the menu on our way over so we could order right away. The staff however told us that the kitchen closed at 11:15. I was like, I called an hour ago and you guys said 11:30. But barely had I said the words I realized I won’t get any sympathy and they sure aren’t going to reopen the kitchen for me so it’s just a waste of my breath. I consider it unacceptable that as a chain they would just decide to close shop early. I felt upset because had we been informed correctly we would have gone to South Beach or Brickell where we could find some dining options, rather than be stuck in a neighborhood with only Denny’s still open. It’s sad to have to down my rating from four to two stars, but I have to concur with the verdict of my fellow Unilocalers: Good Food, Bad Service. Probably won’t go back.

This place could use a few improvements to really wow me, but to be truthful it wasn’t the worse… I’ll definitely be back for more! Pizza restaurants tend to be really fattening, but this place really made me feel like I can eat mountains of pizza and it wouldn’t make me feel stuffed. My calzone was absolutely amazing and it wasn’t greasy. The ingredients tasted fresh and the crust that they used was cooked to perfection. I was there pretty late and I was originally worried that they will rush to make my food. Also $ 3 pints is a pretty good deal! The biggest thing that peeved me was that everyone’s food came out before mine. So I waited a bit till I got my food.

I am so excited the Mellow Mushroom franchise finally made it to Miami to delight us with their stone baked pizzas. This location near the Shops at Sunset Place is very spacious and brings an art-filled and family-friendly environment, as well as a full bar! I’m a fan of their Funky Q Chicken specialty pizza — BBQ Chicken, mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, caramelized onions, and Applewood smoked bacon finished with a BBQ sauce swirl. But regardless of your pizza selection, I guarantee you will crave their unparalleled whole wheat pizza crust. Unfortunately, they take their sweet time to deliver the order to the table(30 – 40 mins). Therefore, I would recommend you plan accordingly.

This is kind of a tough review to write. I have been a fan of Mellow Mushroom since my first encounter with it in Orlando. When I heard one was going to open up in my hood — I could barely wait. However, this mellow is not quite as awesome as the others I’ve been to up north. The food is comparable to other locations, it is fresh, unique and satisfying. What leaves something to be desired is usually the service.(but hey this could just be a Miami thing– great service is hard to come by). What really makes me sad is that this Mellow does not participate in the daily specials such as ½ of wine on mondays or trivia nights, like other mellow mushrooms. One thing I noticed on my last visit though,(hence the 3 stars, instead of 4) was that the floor was really dirty for a relatively new restaurant. There were a lot of caked on black spots that looked like something had spilled and was never cleaned properly. Regardless, I do love this restaurant, and I will continue to frequent it because the pizza and beer selection can’t be beat.
