Honestly, I have had this pizza many times in the past 4 years, and I dont really know what they hype about this place is. They take forever to deliver and when it arrives, the food is oily and over seasoned. Never had had a slice from here that I was crazy about. I would suggest other places to indulge in properly prepared pizza.

I work around the corner and I’ve never tried this place until the other day. Their menu suggest they have salads, and here on Unilocal, the Salad’s were raved about! So I go in to order a salad and the one person working there says they no longer serve salads, just pizza. Ok, can I see a menu? No, he says, the bar in front of you is what we are serving. Ok… I’ll take that pizza($ 4.95 veggie pizza). Alright, the man says, we are only taking cash at the moment; we have an ATM. $ 2 Service charge, $ 6.31 for my pizza, and 15 minutes later, he hands me my pizza to-go. My walk back to work is only a 3 minute walk so I take out a slice, I bite into it, and it’s COLD. No salads, I had to withdraw money from the ATM, and now my pizza is COLD?! Update your website to say you don’t have salads anymore, fix your oven, get more employees to staff during lunch hour, and put a sign on the door that says you are only doing cash when your machine is broken. First time going, horrible first impression; never again.

I went to the South Miami location last night at my husband’s insistence because it was the best located place in our travel path. What a mistake. The person taking our order said they were out of all salads because of a missed delivery so we ordered pizza. When we got it it looked like it had been sitting for a long time and was only lukewarm. We ate it anyways because we were starving. Today I have been sick to my stomach since I woke up. I will never go back to that location. I used to frequent Pizza Rustica on the beach so it’s not the type of pizza that is the problem. It must be the location.

I would not recommend this pizza at all. Service was lacking. Cheese pizza had no marinara sauce. When I asked for a side if marinara sauce the guy gave me a freezing sauce. When I asked him to warm it he said that’s how it is. I always get a side of marinara and it has never been so disgusting.

The good thing about this place is that their pizza does taste like it does at the South Beach locations which is important to note since the FIU location tastes very sub-par. Otherwise it’s a hot mess. Rude staff. You can walk in, order your take out without as much as a nod, smile and acknowledgement from the staff. God forbid they’d reach across the country to hand you your order! No, they put it right where they were standing so that you have to reach across and get it. Want a salad? No bread sticks. Oh and we don’t have goat cheese. And the take out box is 35% percent air, whereas in their original locations they stuff it with greens enough to feed a small animal at the petting zoo. Website says they’re open until midnight. Wrong. Open only until 10. «Wait, but it’s only 9:30, can’t we place an order?» «No.» “Alright alright guys, it’s Friday and this time we’re not going to screw it up, we’ll call and see when they close for sure and when’s the latest we can put an order in”. *Dials* ” The telephone line you are trying to reach is out of service .“ Always yours in pizza despite the wronging, Droos

Wtf, Pizza Rustica! I decided to indulge myself for lunch this afternoon because I haven’t had pizza in a really long time. However, I wish I could take my indulgences back and just go to Whole Foods like I had planned. To start, the pizza is sitting under artificial lights all afternoon. No, those slices are not the ones that they use to demonstrate what the different pizzas look like. Those are the actual slices that they serve to people. Who knows how long they’ve been sitting there; minutes, hours, days? I found this to be pretty gross. After they take the display pizza, they toss it in the oven for about 3 minutes. The cheese pizza I was served was barely toasted and the cheese hadn’t even melted yet. It was also way too greasy. I know pizza is supposed to be greasy but damn, this was just overkill. Needless to say, I only had a small portion of this before throwing it out. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a decent slice of pizza. I’m only giving two stars because the lady who served me was nice, albeit a little on the slow side. In summary, no.

This location should out the business , Was one employed only, not take debit cards, wearing gloves to receive the cash and with the same gloves handle the food plus go out side to smoke. The pizza is not the same and is old . Pizza rustica had a very good reputation and it’s an incredible place in South Beach but this location is Terrible.

Having been to the original location on the beach, this one pales in comparison. Since the turnover is not as frequent here, there is an issue with freshness. Half the time they are out of the pie you want a slice from as well. Every so often you may get lucky going through the drive through in getting the slice you ordered fresh, not reheated, but you are better off going inside and scoping out which pies just came out to chose the one that will be the freshest. What makes Pizza Rustica unique is the crust. It is like a thick Flatbread style crust and when fresh it is quite delicious. But having struck out in this particular location so many times in avoid it all together and drive a little further to Casolas when the craving hits.

I will advise everyone to eat first before you pay, or bite at the register because they have no clue what they are making, is a lottery on what you will get, last time i ate ordered the mushroom pizza and it tasted like burning matches, we approach the cook and he did not want to even taste it, did not offer are placement and did not care, lady and the register did not care either, so we had to dump it in the trash. It will be our last time, never again. You failed pizza rustica in my book for taste, quality, and customer appreciation.

If we were rating by only price and selection of ingredients, Pizza Rustica would probably earn the title of «Best Salads» by the University of Miami area. For $ 6.95(including breadsticks), you can order anything you want in a salad including roasted vegetables, together with your choice of one protein and one cheese. Very delicious! Highly recommended! I have tried salads at other establishments such as Gables Pizza and Salad, and the salad at Pizza Rustica is cheaper and larger. The only thing they need to earn an extra star would be to offer more selection when it comes to salad dressings.

Way better than miamis best pizza! I don’t know how they got a better review. We tried both in the same night to pick the best close by pizza place and never went back to any other place than this one

Pizza was great as I remember from the drunken nights on South Beach, nice décor, clean, but slow service.

What won me over about this place was the late night drive thru! I love the idea and the pizza was great! My favorite pizza was their Hawaiian and their tomato basil! Its a must have on a late night!

It’s probably pretty pathetic that I’m willing to frequent an establishment soley because they have a drive-through. But what can I say, it’s all about convenience(this is America, after all)! Came here for the first time a few days ago with a Unilocaler friend. Love the prices and portion sizes, and the fact that they have multiple veggie-friendly topping options. They also have paninis that looked tempting, but I went with the four cheese slice this time around. One word: RICH. Too rich, IMO. I love blue cheese, in the right context, and in moderation. When paired with the other cheeses in this slice, it was just way too much. I also sampled my friend’s tomato & mozzerella slice, and I really didn’t care for the wheat crust — too cardboardy. I’ll definitely be back to sample some other flavors via drive through access, but I wasn’t too impressed with my choice this time around.

My hope for this was that it would be a clone of the Lincoln Road location. It does look like a Pizza Rustica, with all the rectangular slices displayed prominently. The pizza looks the same. Oddly enough, it doesn’t taste the same. I ordered my current favorite, a slice of the Rustica, and a slice of the funghi as well. I have to say that the crust was not as crispy, and the toppings tasted a little off. Neither slice was anywhere near as good as the same slices would have been on Lincoln. It kinda tasted like the pizza I’d make in the microwave as a kid with Publix mozzarella, tomato sauce and bagels. I used to think that was cool, maybe even useful and funny too. Maybe when I was 8, perhaps, but I’ve come to expect more than that from Pizza Rustica. That said, I did wolf down my slice of the Rustica, so perhaps I’m being slightly harsh. Yet, «meh. I’ve experienced better» seems to sum up my thoughts perfectly, because I *have* experienced better, even from this same franchise. Maybe it’ll get there.

I’m a fan of of the Pizza Rustica locations on Miami Beach as they always hit the spot, especially when I’m on my way to meet friends for drinks or the beach and only have time to grab something fast. On a recent Saturday a friend and I had finished a long bike ride and were looking for a place in the South Miami area to stop for a late lunch. We spotted Pizza Rustica and decided to give it a try. Since it was a Saturday afternoon, this restaurant wasn’t very busy. There was no wait to order and there were plenty of open tables when we were here. My only real complaint about this location is that, as other reviewers have mentioned, they really don’t have the variety and selection that the original Pizza Rustica locations offer. When we were here, only a few of their offerings really appealed to me(and I’m not a picky eater). The other thing that might help at this location is if they’d give you a number for your table and bring your pizza slices to you when they’re ready, especially at slow times when the staff isn’t very busy. On the day we were here we told them which slices we wanted, paid, got our drinks and stood there for another 3 or 4 minutes making chit chat while the pizza was being heated. It would’ve been a bit better if we could sit down after getting our drinks and have the pizza brought to the table when it was ready.

You know what I love about pizza? Its that you can let your imagination run wild with the toppings. If there is bread on the bottom and its flat, no matter what you put on top, its PIZZA! Pizza Rustica understands that concept and let their imaginations run wild. Sometimes one is not in the mood for the typical pizza and might want something with more pizzazz and this is where Rustica hits the SPOT! OK so if you can get past the part where its kind of confusing to get to and the other problem which is so-so service. Or shall I say hit or miss, because it can be either, then you have a great place to have a different pizza experience! We agreed, everyone in our party likes it!

Pizza Rustica in MB is usually a place where we go to grab some carbs after the party, and of course it always hits the spot and never disappoints. So a place that you can describe use always and never is a place that consistently delivers. Here comes Pizza Rustica in South Miami, now I don’t drink that much anymore so this spot is more of a conventional eatery to me rather than a place where I end up after the party, and the same hold true here, always hits the spot and never disappoints. I used to ponder as to how they can make this mass production of pizza work while still preserving integrity in the product, but at this point, frankly, who cares. I am just satisfied with a good portion of pizza for a decent price and good soda to chase the whole thing, and this is where Pizza Rustica hits a home run with me.

Ok, I have to be completely honest here… part of me stopped here today because I’ve had my eye on the place for months now and have been watching closely to see when it finally opened to be able to try it… and the other part of me stopped here just so that I can experience it, come hold and review it, and hold the ever so coveted title of «first to review.» So, with that said… Today was a day where I really wanted to start my detox from fatty holiday foods(at least until the 31st) diet. One of the perks of being home from work for the holidays is that my husband and I get to go have lunch together. We both decided that today was definitely a detox day untiiiiiiiiil we drove by Pizza Rustica and noticed that at long last it had finally opened! We looked at each other and decided that detox could be slightly modified to include pizza. So we pulled right in and thus began the Pizza Rustica cherry popping… This place has come a LONG way from the KFC that used to stand here. The décor is modern, but rustic at the same time. Stone pavers, brown pots with will surely become full hedges, and stonework on the exterior walls add to the rustic feel. The ambient music playing both outdoors and indoors along with the clean lines inside add to the modern feel. As we reached the counter, we were informed that this location had just opened two days ago. We grabbed a menu, and decided that to justify the pizza that we would share a salad and a slice/square(which is actually about 4 small squares) of pizza. To our dismay, when we went to order the salad, they informed us that they only had pizza for now and that they will shortly be serving the salads and paninis as well. Bummer, but I can’t blame them. We decided that in order to keep the«detox» feeling going that we would get some pizzas with veggies so we got a square of the caprese(mozzarella cheese, kalamata olives, plum tomatoes, and basil) a square of the Rustica(artichoke hearts, sun dried tomatoes, kalamata olives, plum tomatoes, prosciutto, mozzarella cheese, basil) and then we also decided that for protein’s sake, that we would also get a square of the BBQ chicken. Every single pizza was DELICIOUS. My palate was totally pleased. My favorite was definitely the caprese as it came on a wheat crust which was actually tasty and the flavors on the pizza combined so nicely together. Total party in my mouth with that one for sure. The other squares were also very very good, but no party in my mouth with them per se. My husband and I commented that this place is surely going to get slammed with late night partiers and UM students, which can often be one in the same, since Sunday-Wednesday they are open until 2AM and the rest of the days(that’s Thur-Sat or those of you trying to do the math) they are open until FIVEAM! Some commendable things to be noted in regards to the restaurant are that they have a Slice-Thru rather than a drive-thru. I LOVED the name of it– pretty original in my book! Since this restaurant is right next to UM, they also have a special Hurricane pizza and offer 10% off to all UM students and staff. I’m glad this place completely understands that ITISALLABOUTTHE U! I also loved that they have free delivery to the surrounding area. Being that we live close by, I brought a magnet with the # and a menu home with me and hope to put it into use as soon as my «detox» phase is over… which being that we already broke the detox rules today… I can see that as being very soon ;) I hope to up my review to a 5 as soon as they get the salads and paninis in, but I think even then the rating may stay at a 4 since the parking lot is very small and can certainly be a problem as the clientele grows…
