Add my name to those who wouldn’t buy appliances from Sears again. I bought stove, dishwasher and fridge from them in redoing my kitchen. Bottom line, I probably spent 9 or 10 hours on the phone with various issues, mostly concerning delivery. At times, I found myself speaking to a «customer service» rep in India or some such place. She obviously had no idea of what was going on with my appliance, but wouldn’t admit that. Companies which shuffle you to representatives overseas simply demonstrate they have no regard whatsoever for their customers. Sure, it’s cheaper for them, but a total waste of time for their customers. No wonder Sears is doing badly from a business standpoint. I’ll give them two stars, instead of one, because their in-store salesperson was nice, and responsive – she gave me her personal cell number to use with questions.

I have been to Sears many times. Unfortunately, they often are the only ones to have what I need. Also they do make very good appliances. Service is so slow, it often takes half-hour to checkout, even for a single item. This is partly due to their 1980s computers/register system. The rest is due to the slow, disinterested employees. Still, consumer reports rates their appliances very highly. As a result, I decided to give them one last try. When I ordered my dryer several models were back ordered. Having numerous scheduled houseguests I chose to order a more expensive model with the provision it would be delivered in 2 days. I paid extra to ensure a two hour window of delivery vs the standard 12 hours. Today they called back to say my dryer could not be delivered for another three weeks. When I explained that I bought the model because Sears assured me it would be delivered right away. I was told too bad the dryer was now backordered and the earliest I could expect it would be three weeks. To say the least I canceled my order and will never do business with Sears again.
