We came here on a whim to find that it was during the lunch buffet. They had a lunch buffet deal for 9.99 per person. They had a variety of appetizers and entrees but since we came about an hour and half before it was over, it didn’t seem as fresh. The food was great and we will be returning to try the actual dishes on the menu. The service was great and they give you naan on the side. I’m not entirely sure of the names of the dishes but the curry they had that day was on point!

We are sad to see Rangoli leave the South Riding Market Square. When we moved to SR, it was comforting to know that there was good Indian food right across the street. It made me feel a little more at home in an unfamiliar place. Best of luck to Kumar and we sincerely hope that Rangoli is able to find another location! Their last brunch is on Sunday. We intend to go and show our support… and eat fluffy naan… and possibly a mango lassi… and more naan.

This is definitely one of the best Indian restaurants in the metro DC area. The paneer is delicious– ok, everything I have had is delicious.

I ordered the following, excuse the spelling. You get 4 stars for taste and 2 stars for food to dollar ratio. $ 15.99 Seekh kabab(were the circumference of Vienna sausages and were barely enough to feed a 2 year old), $ 14.99 chicken tikka(supposed to be half a chicken but it was more like half a Cornish hen) vegetable samosa, palak paneer, malai kofta, bagara baignan, yogurt, and naan with cheese, cherry and nuts. We ordered for pick up and were very happy with the taste but unhappy with the size particularly when you consider the price of the proteins! We won’t ever order takeout again and will more than likely stick to going there for its buffet(have yet to go).

I have been to so many Indian restaurants in the DC metro area. I must say nothing comes close to Rangoli. Their quality of food, their service, cleanliness and price is all so good. My wife and I look for every opportunity to drive 15 miles to come eat here. Try their Goat Masala, Rava Masala Dosa, Crispy Okra appetizer. All amazing and melts in your mouth. Sam, the manager, knows how to take care of his customers.

First time trying Indian food and it was delicious! I usually have really bad experiences with buffets but on the weekends they give you an option of the buffet. There’s a ton of different food offered. The owner was really kind and introduced himself to my family and I. He even remembered my sisters from the last time they went. My favorite was the butter chicken. They also offer goat — which I never had until then. But it tastes like beef. I can’t remember the name of the other items though but it was all really good. Definitely recommend it!

I’m kind of mad… and it hurts me to write this because I’ve only ever had good experiences dining IN at Rangoli. I ordered Chicken Tikka Makhani, Saffroni Shrimp, and naan for delivery. My chicken’s not the best it’s ever been, but I’ll live with some bones and crappy cuts of chicken. What I’m mad about is that I got 5 shrimp and some raw onions thrown in a container for $ 15.99. SIXTEENDOLLARS for 5 shrimp. I asked for them to be mild as well, which apparently means I get no seasoning… I’m not a happy camper.

Scientifically proven to be the best Indian restaurant in the world(outside of India). No, really, bear with me here! I travel 100k miles for work each year, both domestic and international. I also love Indian food. Naturally, I need to try the Indian in every country I visit. I’ve been eating here regularly for a few years now and I can say this is easily the best Indian I’ve ever had, anywhere. The posh curry houses in London didn’t even come close. The service here is five-star, all the way. The staff remember you, and are attentive without being overbearing. If you order something to go from their website, they’ll call you back to confirm the order and give you an ETA. A few food recommendations that I always have new people try(note I only come here for dinner; I’ve never tried the lunch buffet): Vegetable samosas — I could live off of these. Flaky and chewy pastry-ish shell with veggies bursting with aromatic spices and flavor. Truly something special. The samosas everywhere else in the world are little deep-fried things that need to be dipped in something because they’re bland. These are a work of art; they should commission a portrait to hang over the kitchen door. Chicken Tikka Makhani — Chicken is grilled perfectly every time, and I’ve never found a creamy tomato sauce like this anywhere else. Light and creamy, not so heavy that it feels like you fell into and drank your way out of a vat of yogurt. Saag Ghosht — Tender, delicious lamb in a spinach sauce flavored with… jeez, so many things. Puppies and rainbows is the best way I can describe it. Everything else is great too, of course. They can make a vindaloo hot enough to kick your donkey if you ask them to. Garlic naan, marsala chai, the peppery pappadam, it’s all fantastic and, I can honestly say, better than anywhere else in the world!

My wife and I were hungry for lunch and wanted something instead of Panera. We stopped in to a full house for their lunch buffet. The restaurant is not very large, but can probably seat around 50 people. It is VERY clean, modern, and welcoming. The staff were very polite, and made sure you had drinks at all times. For me, it’s the small things like that to make an enjoyable dining experience. Now to the food, which was very delicious. This was my second time having Indian cuisine and my wife’s first. Even though we both are not accustom to the various types of choices, we tried everything. Everything was fresh, and we enjoyed it all. For two individuals having the buffet and one soda order it was just under $ 28.00. This is a great price for the quality of food and opportunity to eat as much as you like. We will definitely will go back, and I hope this review intrigues you to give them a try.

Ok place to dine in but I took one star away for loudness. Staff helps out but it’s a really loud place to dine in and I would not like my dinners to be around chaos. I also observed one aspect which I would bring upfront– I asked for a glass of red wine and I was observing the person in the bar. He poured the left over from the previous glass into mine and then added some more from the other bottle to make up for the full glass. I didn’t say anything as that would be pointing fingers and he can deny blatantly but I definitely flushed my wine in the toilet. Food is not extraordinary– we ordered dhania chicken. I wanted to try something else(I forgot now what it was) but waiter persuaded me to order something else and I found out later that they were out of the other chicken I was planning to order. Wifey ordered goat biryani which was ok. I would not go back even if they bribe me !

Cheap lunch option for lunch near my house. Not as great as other buffets but it’ll do the trick. The day I went they did not have butter chicken(really?) but they had the typical tandoori, chicken curry and another grilled chicken. Another table seemed surprised they didn’t have butter chicken as well. Not that many options and the yellow grilled chicken and tandoori tasted similar. Dessert was rice pudding. Overall I’d say 3.5 stars.

Let’s call this a 4+ review. The food was delicious. The pacing of the meal was a bit off, so I can’t give 5 stars, but it’s close. This was our first visit to Rangoli in several years. We got samosas, three breads, raita, Lamb Vindaloo for me, Chicken tikka makhani for Mrs. W, and for the kids, two mango lassis and two orders of some grilled chicken thing off the kids menu. Everything was excellent, no clunkers at all. Major props for:(1) having a perfect kids’ entrée option,(2) the huge portion of basmati rice we got with our entrees, which was replaced as needed,(3) the perfect heat level in my vindaloo, and(4) the exceptionally friendly service. Rangoli is a real gem for the restaurant-starved southern Loudoun area.

This seriously is THE best Indian buffet I’ve ever had. The butter chicken is something dreams are made of. I could eat it all day, and I don’t even usually like chicken. The vegetarian options are plentiful and delicious, so even if you’re not going to eat much meat, the buffet price is well worth it. My only note of caution: you will surely over-indulge here on the many, many options. And you will surely regret it afterwards when your pants feel far too tight. But you will want to go back there again a few days later.

I went here yesterday for the dinner with my sister and baby nephew, and wanted to update my review– this place impressed me. First off, the staff is phenomenal– my sister’s 1 year old was the only toddler in the restaurant, and was banging spoons and cups and being mischievous, and they handled it like troopers. They came every few minutes to say hi to him and no more than a few seconds after he dropped his straw they brought him another one. They came by promptly to refill our drinks and to ask if there was anything we needed, in a not-annoying way. We ordered butter chicken, creamed spinach, this fried spinach salad with yogurt and pomegranates, and garlic naan. All were amazing. I will definitely be coming here for dinner again.

Rangoli never disappoints. The food is excellent and distinctive. Never tire of it. The service is that rare combination of truly helpful and attentive without being overbearing. It feels as though every team member genuinely cares about their customers’ dining experiences. The restaurant is clean and very comfortable. Having eaten in some of the top Indian restaurants in New York and DC, I would easily put Rangoli right there with the best. Sunday brunch is particularly outstanding and reasonably priced — come hungry to take full advantage of the experience. Rangoli exemplifies what it’s like when staff members take pride in their food and service from A to Z. If you live in the area and haven’t been, you need to go! And if you drive a significant distance, you won’t regret it. Washington’s restaurant scene has lots of sparkling jewels, but the suburbs have their own gems, and Rangoli is absolutely one of them. Don’t come expecting an urban scene … it’s an unassuming little spot to be sure. But expect to be surprised in the best kind of way.

Love Indian(who doesn’t!) but this is just downright delicious indian food. I’ve dined in before and loved it, but flew in today and craved Indian and this is in my sisters neighborhood so decided to try the buffet. This buffet had so so many options and so beautifully laid out… It looked like a spread you might find at a wedding party! Point being… So many options and all delicious… If you are in the area definitely try Rangoli… By the way I had my 2 picky eaters(kids) with me and they were so sweet trying to accommodate them by bringing items for them to try like their pancakes and mango lassi without charging us… Very sweet!

How in the world did it take me this long to finally try this place? I have been missing out this whole time on this amazing indian restaurant. I was in the mood for indian food and after work one day, I decided to stop by since it was on the way home. So glad, I went because I know where I’m going to go next time. Came in for carry out and I was greeted right away by what I’m assuming… the owner or manager? He was dressed up in a suit so I’m guessing hes the boss. Super friendly guy! It got busy after I arrived, about 5 other families walked in and theres probably about 20 tables, which is a great thing for them on a Wednesday night! I ended up with the samosas, bombay burger and tandoori chicken and yes it was all for me, don’t judge. The samosas were flavorful and was pretty large in size, it came with 2 samosas for 3.99 which wasn’t too bad of a price. It wasn’t greasy and crisp to perfection. Next up, the must try bombay burger. An explosion in your mouth type of burger with a large well seasoned spicy potato patty. In the carry out box, the onion and pepper flakes are on the side so you can put as much as you want on the patty. It was a delicious kick in the mouth, full of flavor. When you try it, you’ll thank me! The best part of the dinner was the Tandoori Chicken, which was excellent. The flavor was divine and you can tell its fresh and definitely made to order. It was still juicy the next night that I microwaved it. I just wish they would put more sauteed onions but overall it was great with the basmati rice. The owner was very nice and I had asked him what he was making at the bar and he said a mango colada and I told him that sounds delish! So he actually gave me a cup of the left over mango colada smoothie, which was a nice gesture of him! He talked to me while I was waiting as well as the other servers asking if I wanted water while I waited. The staff is awesome and the food is even better. 150% will be back and recommend to everyone I know!

OK– gotta say– much better this time around! There was a much larger variety of food; butter chicken specifically which is similar to the masala so I was pretty excited for that. Lots of vegetarian options too which were a hit with my boss :). Good service again– that seems to be a constant which is always a plus. Happy camper!

Love it! One of the yummier dinning places in my neck of the woods. It can be a bit difficult to find good eats in my area, but we’re getting there. Since it’s close to home, I usually place my order to go. Employees are friendly and my order is usually ready in no time. Their lamb biriyani is my favorite! They prepare it really well, I just wish they would be a little more generous with the pieces of lamb. It’s delicious though. Everything we’ve tried from here is excellent. I’ve brought family to Rangoli multiple times, and everyone always enjoys themselves. The dinning area is spacious yet still has a cosy feel to it. I love the décor and the restaurant is always organized. It’s a bit pricey, but what you get is of high quality. So glad Rangoli is such a delicious spot and close to home.
