Not impressed. Has their classic burger. Nothing short of mediocre. The calamari was good but the cherry peppers are supposed to accent the meal not dominate it. The décor isn’t retro, its simply dated, dirty and worn. Unlikely to return.

Went there for Valentines day .had a 6:15p reservation and went early for a drink… told them we were there and they got us in a half hour early. the service was great and we did not feel rushed. they had a full menu and a few holiday specials… the food was great though they under cooked my wife’s steak a little. but we did not say anything and if we had I know they would have fixed it… drinks are pricey but expected from a steak house. Desserts were great… we don’t come her often because of price(its a steak place, so that we get) but we love coming here as its always a great experience… we will be back again many times.

I have dined at Burton’s many times and have never been disappointed. I am medically sensitive to gluten and almost all of the their menu can be prepared GF. I am particularly fond of the fried calamari. The market catch risotto featured Halibut. The fish was moist and not over cooked. My wife had the crab cakes(not GF) and they was generous sized and mostly all crab meat. I can not speak for or against the deserts; we do not eat sweets.

I stopped here for a late lunch on a recent day off and had such a wonderful experience I can only imagine what type of meal I would have if(and definitely when) I make my way back to this elegant and classy restaurant smack dab in the middle of a «shopping center» Don’t get this mistaken — Burtons is not a fast/casual restaurant. From the moment I entered the restaurant to the time I left — I felt that I was in one of those high end steak restaurants in a «big» city — not South Windsor, Connecticut. The dark wood paneling and décor — give Burton’s a warm and inviting look without coming off as off putting. My friend and I snagged some seats at the bar — our servers/bartenders both introduced themselves and were quite helpful in both keeping my diet coke refilled and answering several questions about the menu. We started with the calamari(one of my favorite appetizers) and what arrived was nothing short of spectacular — succulent and moist calamari, lightly fried, and accompanied by a wonderfully dipping sauce. Many times when I order this dish I am greeted with small, over fried calamari pieces — yes pieces — that many times need a lot of seasoning(salt) and have to be consumed using a fork. Luckily that was not what was put in front of me and the addition of the hot cherry peppers provided a nice bit of heat to the dish. For our entrée I ordered the blackened fish tacos –which was served with a side arugula salad. I had recently been to another local establishment, ordered fish tacos, which were disappointingly dry and overcooked(and this was from a restaurant specializing in tacos). My faith in fish tacos was restored when I was presented with two tacos with a good size piece of fish(I believe it was swordfish), a lovely slaw and a spicy sauce which I asked for one the side as I was not sure how spicy it would be. The tacos were wonderful — just the right amount for a lunch meal. Although the dressing on the arugula was a bit heavy handed — it was still a wonderful side to accompany the tacos. The lunch was not on the«cheap» side but for my experience and the meal — it was definately worth the cost of admission. Many times these«steak» houses have limited options for non-meat eater but that is definitely not the case here. I look forward to coming back here to try some of there other luncheon options, trying out their happy hour or coming back for a special occasion.

Went there over the weekend and had a great time. It had been a while since I had been there(and my experience then was underwhelming) It seems they have stepped it up a notch and I was very impressed. First of all they have gluten free and vegetarian menus. Woohoo! This is very exciting for me. Glance through the vegetarian menu and theres nothing vegan… womp. I asked the waitress if I could amend one of the dishes to make it vegan. They gladly accommodated and a manager even came out to the table and asked what I liked, what I didn’t like so that they could make my meal special. This was VERY exciting for me as that has literally never happened to me before at all. It always seems like asking waitstaff to pull their teeth out to order something off the menu. The staff made me feel comfortable and very happy with the whole dining experience. They also brought me olive oil when they brought bread and butter out for the rest of the table(which was a real nice touch). Besides my wonderful vegan adventure at Burtons my family enjoyed the fish tacos, the beet salad and a steak. Everyone was super happy with their meals, friendly service, good ambiance. Really satisfied with this experience.

I came on a Saturday at 1pm for lunch. It was busy, but my party of 3 was seated immediately. They mentioned they had gluten free and vegetarian menus if we needed them. I ordered the maple chicken sandwich and my friends had the fish tacos and Mediterranean risotto. My chicken sandwich was flavorful and came with this maple dijonnaise sauce that complemented the sandwich well. The risotto was delicious as well, but the fish tacos were mediocre and bland. For dessert, we had the chocolate hazelnut crême brûlée which had a nice crisp, and the chocolate torte which was very rich and decadent. The staff was attentive and came back often to refill our waters and check on us. I would say this is my favorite place for lunch at evergreen. Parking is more challenging in the front, but there is plenty of parking in the back of the stores.

Burton’s has consistently good food, a nice wine list, a gluten free menu, and plenty of shopping nearby! I also love the alfresco dining in the warmer weather. I’ve given gift certificates to some friends with special dietary needs, and they were very pleased with the fare. There’s a good-sized bar with a few high-top tables as well as a dining room with meticulous service. Tip: If you’re thinking of coming on a weekend night, call ahead for reservations, or you’ll likely have a considerable wait for a table.

This was our 3rd stop of the day for an app and drinks during our holiday shopping. Burtons is our go to spot. We were able to get a 2 person high top table in the bar area . We ordered the Philly spring rolls and a couple glasses of wine. Which are steak onions and cheese rolled and fried until crispy. It’s served with a spicy ketchup and fried onion straws. It was right on. Nice and crispy and served hot. The spicy ketchup adds to it nicely. Great prompt serve both at bar grabbing drinks and our server. Definitely return soon for a full meal.

First off their menu has a great variety of gluten free dishes for those who don’t know. I went with my family to celebrate my brothers birthday 2 days ago. The atmosphere is great, we were greeted by the hostess right away, and our server brought our drinks out immediately after we ordered. He was very knowledgable about the full menu ordered the Philly spring rolls and they were definitely to die for! The crab bisque is creamy and packs a punch. For my entrée I ordered the lobster and shrimp pasta, the dish had a very large amount of lobster and big shrimp. It was full of flavor. Overall I was beyond please with my experience with this restaurant and will definitely come back in the near future. Our waiter was extremely friendly and even brought out a Cream Brulé with a lighted candle for my brother!

My family had a mini reunion today at Burton’s. Very nice location and great service although a little slow. We weren’t in a hurry so it didn’t matter. The food was prepared just right. Everyone was happy with their selection. They have Fall items with a lot of delicious pumpkin and squash. The décor is not over the top. Comfortable and spacious. The music was a little loud for lunch. We were there to talk. We managed. They have a Heath conscious menu. They deal very well with food allergies. My family loves this place and has been there many times. Our plates were very clean when we left! I recommend if you’re in the area.

Came to Burtons for the very first time with a date of mine. The place is complimented with a very nice interior design around the dining and bar area that sets the warm mood and vibe right. We chose to sit outside since it was beautiful out at night and the moon was shining bright. Our server was really cool, attentive, and friendly. He gave us our daily specials but unfortunately the fresh catch of the day couldn’t be eaten by my date since she was allergic! Anyways, we ordered the Mediterranean Chicken risotto for my date, and the short ribs for myself. The food was an amazing experience. The presentation was really nice for both, and the flavors popped for my short ribs. It was nice and tender, and was complemented well by the mashed potatoes and string beans. I’ve also had the chance to try my dates chicken risotto, and I’d have to say, it was cooked perfectly! It was the perfect balance of flavors, and it was light! All in all, great dining experience, would most definitely come back here again!

I enjoy coming to Burton’s now and again. I don’t live in the area, so its a bit of a trek for me(especially during dinner time on 84) but every time I come here, I leave happy. I was here the other night with my brother for a little belated birthday dinner. I was promptly seated on their awesome patio, and waited for my brother to arrive. What I loved the most was when the host offered me either a gluten sensitive menu or a vegetarian menu. I totally took her up on the vegetarian menu! Its nice to be able to not have to sift through all of the meat dishes on the regular menu in order to find out what you want to eat. The service was prompt and attentive. When my brother arrived we both ordered traditional Mojitos. This is where the 4 stars come into play instead of 5. The drinks took a while to come out(which is not a big deal) but when they did, they were mediocre at best. There were only 3 pieces of mint in our drinks! I didn’t get ANY lime or ANY mint… just sugar-ry rum. It really was not very good at all. Onto the food. which was delicious. We had a the firecracker shrimp appetizer, which my brother mostly devoured. It was the perfect balance between sweet and spicy, and the shrimp were perfectly battered and coated with the sauce. I had the Mediterranean risotto and it was out of this world! My brother had their Maxx Burger and he also thoroughly enjoyed it. I will certainly be returning, I’ll just be ordering a different drink!

Best risotto I have ever had. All the dishes were amazing. Great gluten sensitive menu too. All dishes are made from scratch including the salad dressings. Delicious hand crafted drinks with great service. Excellent indoor and outdoor dining. If you have not been here I highly recommend a visit. I certainly will be back.

I came here with two of my close friends at the end of a long day of shopping, having wanted to try this place a week prior but being distracted by another restaurant. As soon as we walked in and declared there were three of us, the hostess immediately asked if anyone in our party was gluten-free or vegetarian which was well received by my friends, one of which is gluten-free, the other who is on a «no-carb diet»(cue the eye rolls… he ate mashed potatoes with his meal). I never saw the vegetarian menu, but the gluten-free version is the exact same as the regular menu except they highlight all the items that contain wheat products and instead offers either a substitute or a gluten-free version(such as gluten-free pasta, bread, etc.). We started with the Buffalo Chicken dip which came with both blue and yellow corn tortilla chips. I was super curious how they planed on making it fit with the fancier setting, but I should have known that meant you get a small amount of dip and an un-proportionally large amount of chips. I had the rigatoni bolognese which I thought was very good. At first I thought the sauce wasn’t quite right, but as I ate more, I became satisfied with all of it. My friend who is gluten-free ordered the burger(the least expensive entrée on the menu at just over thirteen bucks) on a gluten-free roll and she enjoyed it. Our other friend ordered the filet mignon and while he said it tasted wonderful and appeared to be cooked perfectly to his liking, he’s not quite as rehearsed in cuts of meat as I am and didn’t realize it was such a small cut of meat, causing me to laugh a little when he thought he was jipped. Our waiter was conscious of refilling our drinks when it was needed and without our mention(none of us are over 21, so when I say drinks I mean two iced teas and water with lemon) and she was very polite. While we split the check so that each of us had our own, the meal totaled to just under $ 80.

Burton’s is one of those places you drop in and wonder why you don’t frequent it more often. Great staff, solid food, and a very nice wine selection including by the glass. Very professional bartenders who know their craft… always a bonus. The parking can be a bit of a pain since it is located within The Promenade Shoppes at Evergreen. However, there is ample parking even if you can’t roll up right in front of the restaurant. The bar isn’t huge, but they seem to turnover quick. All in all a very solid place that I need to stop in more often. It is by far one of the better choices in this area when you want to extend beyond the traditional beer bar.

I went to Burtons Grill twice in one week and loved it both times. First time I went was with my mom after a failed mission to get a MOB dress for my upcoming wedding. Since it was a Wednesday evening and the night before my birthday, my mother wanted to treat me to dinner. Both of us ordered the salmon cakes with basmati rice and arugula from the lighter fare menu and split a side salad. Our waitress was very considerate and put the salad on two separate plates. The salmon cakes were very yummy and surprisingly very filling considering it was considering a smaller plate. My mother, who can be sometimes very fussy at restaurants, loved her plate as well and commented that the ingredients were very fresh. Luckily that night, the weather was perfect and we dined outside. Second time I went was with my friends for my birthday. I had ordered the blood orange margarita and it was divine! The service was perfect both times and the bar was very comfortable with a group of friends. This is a place to stop after a shopping trip at either Evergreen Walk or Buckland Hills Mall.
