Ah, Cordial Shoppie — because that pronunciation adds the class that my incorrect spelling so intensely eradicates. Located in a sad, run down, worn out, dejected, lonely(but once vibrant) decidedly blah shopping plaza, Cordial Shoppe(henceforth known as «The CS») never fails to provide you with that last minute bottle of wine that you already knew you were looking for, or that on-your-way-home 30 rack that you never knew you needed. The CS greets you with a sound most similar to that of the Ghostbusters siren when you walk in(as opposed to the traditional«ding», which The CS is way too classy for) and it also kicks you out with that very same sound. If you are having trouble finding parking, you are lost. There are at least 200 open spaces in this area at all times. I often occupy four at a time, parking a little sideways, allowing me to enter and exit the drivers seat at the most convenient of angles. Hell, park in front. I mean, it’s a fire lane so really don’t, but most people do anyways. Doing that makes it the closest thing to a drive-thru liquor store you’ll ever see in CT. Prices are pretty comparable to anywhere else, the wine my dad likes(Estancia Pinot Noir) is a few bucks cheaper than other places around, and a sixer of whatever you like is somewhere between $ 5 and $ 8. The CS isn’t really somewhere you would go if it was terribly out of your way, as there really is not anything else in the plaza besides Geissler’s(grocery store) that you would want to visit. No music, no TV, they take credit, they ID me every time despite the fact that I go there semi-often…and that’s it. I’m pretty sure if you weren’t reading this review, you could have driven by and seriously failed to notice that this place exists in any form whatsoever. So, you’re welcome!
