I pulled into the plaza for nardellis, but noticed they were busy so i thought id try«FancyBurger.» I was a little put off about the bagel and burger AND Hot dog mix but thought id give a try! My girlfriend and i both ordered a burger with cheesy fries which came promptly. The burger wasnt Fancy at all unfortunately and neither was my fries. The cheese on my fries seemed like they scooped it straight out of a can onto my warm fries. My burger came on a soggy and tasteless bun. The grilled mushrooms on my burger tasted old. But what really really put me off was the fact that on my table was this nasty bottle of Frank Red Hot. It was so filthy and disgusting, it didnt look like it was ever cleaned.(Ill post a picture) I looked around at the other tables and they were all the same. Also for some reason all the ketchup bottle had the caps ripped off. Which was also weird, as either flies or other bugs can get in there and the bottles were also dirty! My experience at the FANCYBURGER was NOT good! I wish i would have not spent my money there, and for the price, just not worth it! Save your money and go a real burger joint! Where they take pride!

I was looking forward to trying fancy burgers and Frank’s since you can order your burger grilled, steamed or on the flat top — I really couldn’t decide and being my first time I ordered one of each to split with my wife. The steamed was ok, lean but still relatively juicy — but not as good as Ted’s in my opinion. I honestly couldn’t tell the difference between the grilled or flat top burgers, but both were average at best — Overcooked, kind of tough and gristly — my wife agreed. Their fries were tasty, and onion rings were also good. I prefer beer battered rings, these were breaded but nice and crispy. Can’t speak for the hot dogs, but next time I’m looking for a quick burger fix I’ll go to 5 guys instead.

I drive to Nardellis, which had a line out the door, so I tried Fancy burgers instead. Mistake! Only 2 people eating there during the lunch rush?! That should’ve clued me in that I would be wasting $ 6 on a chili-burger that the friggin guy neglected to put CHILI on! burger wasn’t even cooked medium. Could’ve spent the same money at 5 Guys or even better Big Steve’s Grill, where everything is AWESOME. This was a total waste of time and money for an under-cooked burger with toppings missing.

Hours posted said they would be open until 8PM. I walked in there at 6:10PM and she said I’m sorry we’re closed. There were at least half a dozen people in there eating. So what’s up with that? Very annoying.

Second time I’ve been here, I love it. Real burgers, tasty fries. The onions and sauerkraut are very tasty. The burgers are full size, hand made pattys. The fries are run of the mill. The onion rings are very good. One of the highlights for me, is the background music is good music. Small point in a food review, but it’s a strong point in overall comfort of the business.

Simple décor and great steamed burgers. Melt in your mouth yum. Weirdly located in the corner of a once-dead plaza that’s started to come back around with Nardelli’s taking up the corner storefront and a frozen yogurt place that I can’t remember the name of. Very long high top table in the middle would make for a great space for a larger dining party, or to sidle up and make a new friend or two. I like that you can see everything being made on the grill, nothing’s hidden in the back.

I liked it would go back because of quick service and convenient location. I like to patronize family owned business instead of chain fast food. I liked that they had a good variety of toppings including chili and jalapenos! Also great prices very affordable for a quick lunch.

It was a totally SOLID buger place. If you want solid just BURGER, no fancy agrullas and specialty sauces, this is the place to go. It is not your everyday fastfood joint either. This is BURGER and HOTDOG place, you will not get fast service but decent speed and delicious food. I got steamed cheese burger with bacon and i should say, for the first time trying steamed burger, i am in LOVE! Super juicy burger with crunch of bacon was very good combo. They give you an option to put your burger/dog on bagel which is nice. Also if you don’t eat meat, try steamed cheese sandwitch; not a grilled cheese but nice way to taste bread and cheese. I will def revisit for another great meal, most likely another steamed burger lol

We just went in today. It was like our 8th visit? Bugers, dogs, fries, BUT they are fantastic every single time! I love that U don’t have to settle for American cheese. I love the new can fries! When they first came out with them, my husband and I were the first to order them! Very clean, great owner, great staff. We WILL keep coming back!

The last thing Southington needs is another fast food joint! The food was worse than Wendy’s, and sadly I often eat at Wendy’s to get my fast food fix. I tried a burger on the flat top and was not really impressed. The milkshake was okay but it’s not hard to make a milkshake… I could make one when I was 5 years old. *Wendys, Taco Bell, McDonald’s, and Burger King are all within 2 minutes away!

It pains me to see less than a 4 star review on this place. Their food is top quality, their prices are fair, their service is friendly, they’re 100% no bullshit. They genuinely care about the food they’re serving and after several lunches here recently, I haven’t been let down once. They’re not THE best burgers and dogs you’ll ever have, but they’re EASILY some of the best I’ve had in Connecticut. I’ve been favoring the steamed cheeseburgers with bacon lately. And yeah, Mike R, you don’t take your vegan kid to a burger and dog joint. This isn’t Portland, Oregon. I would have been rude to you, too.

I’ve eaten here a few times since my initial(2) star review. At my subsequent visits the burgers and hot dogs were ok but nothing to get excited about or that I can even write specifically about. So I guess I’ll just describe it as «I’ve had better and I’ve had worse». This place goes on my «once every few months» list… maybe.

I was in Southington looking for a grinder and Nardelli’s was closed, so I gave this place a try. I was pleased to see they served the Ct institution of the«steamed cheeseburger». I pretty much grew up on O’Rourke’s and Ted’s version of these. I was disappointed to find the meat dry-usually not a problem with the steamed burgers. I also thought the cheese was bland-not a sharp cheddar and not sufficiently melted and gooey like the good ones. To be fair, the owner was walking around asking people how they liked the place and seemed generally concerned with my criticism. He invited me back and gave me a discount card. The people that worked here were helpful and it was clean. The concern of the owner makes me want to give it one more try. Always good to see that! Overall, a fairly average first impression though. 3 stars for now.

Great local burger joint on par with Ted’s and 5 Guys… To Mike R., next time walk thru the hallway and get your vegetarian kid a bagel with cream cheese next time. I’ve been there 3 times already and the service is getting better and the food always good…

I have eaten at Fancy Burgers about five times so far. Before I review I like to give newer/smaller places a chance to hit the spectrum so I can give an accurate review. My findings: The décor/set up is great. Open floor plan, plenty of seating, easy to understand where to order. The food is cooked right in front of you(which a lot of people take for granted) there has been an employee cleaning the place almost every time I have walked in, which is also great. All employees have been very cheerful and polite so far. I have not encountered anyone rude. They are patient with your order and will ask the quality after you get your food. The food: It’s burgers and dogs. Hard to mess up. And they don’t. They have been consistent with the taste each time I have been in there. They give the option for flat top or char grilled(I prefer the latter). I have tried the onion rings and fries, both consistent each time. The quality of the meat is good. Portions are good. Price: it ranges based on what you order(obviously) I got a cheeseburger, side of fries and a Pepsi yesterday for around $ 7.00 — I think that’s fair. Considering garbage Wendy’s charges 8.50 for the same thing. Why not five stars: I like to stay as positive as possible with my reviews. But I will point out two small things: they are still working out the kinks with their buns I think. For hamburgers they are okay. But for their dogs, I would like to see them toast them a bit longer. They have been a bit soft the times I have been in there. And finally: when you order a frank, they heap on the toppings, and that’s great! With a burger, they are a little more sparce with the various complimentary toppings that they put on.(This is just my experience so far) Ultimately: A very consistent, clean, friendly place that I hope stays in business because I plan on going back time and time again.

This review is for my first visit. I have loved Fancy Bagels for years now, and frequent it often for breakfast. I was really excited that a burger joint was opening up close to me, as I typically head to Five Guys, Red Robin, Plan B Burger etc when I am looking for my burger fix. Having a place close by would be convenient. I will try it again, but was not completely blown away my first visit. Below is my review for 2 flat top cheeseburgers with ketchup, mustard, and pickles with a side order of fries.(~$ 15) The Meat: The burger itself was high quality in terms of grade, but I felt it could use more fat content. My burger was too dry for my taste. The Cheese: The cheese was white american, I think Boars Head. It had good flavor. A sign of a good cheeseburger to me is the cheese is melted over the burger covering it like a cloak. The cheese on my burger was not completely melted, so I was a bit disappointed with that. The Bun: The bun held up to the burger well, it did not fall apart at all. There is also an option to get your burger on a bagel, which I would love to try. The Fries: The fries were thick cut and I had mostly floppy fries. I would have loved if they were a bit crispier, but I am biased on this point since I am a floppy fry hater! I think some seasoning would really go a long way.

Awesome. Best bagel joint around adds another restaurant. How can you beat it? They use name brand premium hot dogs, make a bunch of their own toppings, have fries and rings, and make the shakes fresh with real ice cream! Best dogs north of Super Duper Weenie. Burgers are made to order from premium meat. You can have them fried or grilled and they even make steamed burgers! Try it, you’ll love it!

Now I realize that this is a burger and dog place BUT I have 4 kids and one does not eat meat. I asked the cooks if they could make a grilled cheese. They were so rude. Like unbelievably rude. They said«no. Just no. We only make burgers and dogs» we walked out and will not return. In this day of closing restaurants, I would expect some customer service. I can take a «no» but I will not take rudeness.

working out the kinks as a new restaurant(training cashier). Food is good(on par with similar burger places like 5 guys) with pricing in parity. I feel they may have missed the fancy bagel recipe of good food, GREAT price. For the same price I’d prefer 5 guys.
