This place is A-OK in my book. A cute, boutique-y shop off the main drag in Southington that caters to people who want to channel their inner domestic goddess. My aunt, uncle, and I stumbled in during the Apple Fest and quickly wondered about the two dogs. One seemed to be quite at home on the floor(apparently the canine friend of the owner or an employee). The other pooch was in a carrying case of a fellow shopper. Needless to say, this place is dog friendly — a fact that was not appreciated by any of us. We thought that many of the items in Move Over Martha Gifts were charming and well priced. I saw a bunch of four cloth napkins for about $ 12. I also saw a great sweater for $ 69. I thought both of those prices were right on the mark. I also saw some other interesting items for around a tasteful home. No employees offered to help any of us or explain the items. For example, I don’t know if the products were handmade, locally made, or just carefully selected for this store. Although none of us bought anything(especially since many craft items were for sale in the Apple Fest), I think this store is a winner for year-round homey goodness.
