Pecan crusted chicken is not on the menu but it is absolutely amazing! Great food and atmosphere!

The cranberry chicken is probably the best entrée I’ve had anywhere; wish I could review the rest of the food but I’ll probably never order anything else because the sole purpose of my visit is the cranberry chicken. It’s unbelievable! Also, the butternut squash bisque is delicious too! Try this chicken, it will change your life.

I went once about 6 months ago and got a 7 napkin burger to go and it was really good. I waited for my order at the bar and saw what they had in tap and was discouraged to see nothing i liked but i saw they had cans of Dales Pale Ale. A few weeks ago I went back with a group. I drank 2 Dales because they had ALL the same beers they did 6 months ago(the bottled and draft beer list is laminated aka permanent) but if thats what sells, sell it. Our apps were delicious, I got the Everything Salmon and it was really good but two of my friends later said how adequate the food was. Ive heard that the Cranberry Chicken is the best dish ever so Ive got to go back for it.

This has probably been my favorite restaurant for quite a few years now. The food is great. The wine is reasonably priced. The service is phenomenal. What else could you ask for? If they don’t have something you would like on the menu, ask and you shall receive. They’re steaks were great back when I ate meat but since I only order the seafood, I am still impressed with their quality and commitment to their diners. If you want a great deal, stop by for lunch during the week. The portions are slightly smaller than dinner but the price is much less!

Party of two stopped in on recommendation from a local while on an overnight trip and we were lucky enough to snag seats at the bar… Everything was amazing from the service to dessert even with the computers crashing in the middle of service can not say enough good things about Ariana and Jeff Thank you for an awesome meal!

This place has got it down. Food, service, atmosphere, it’s all great. Spent my birthday evening enjoying delicious New York strips and juicy cranberry chicken. Our server was so genuinely friendly and great with our daughter. Instead of paper and crayons they gave us Wikki Stix, fascinatingly different. Will definitely return and highly recommend to anyone who has not yet tried!

By far my favorite place to eat in the state. I go every Saturday for lunch. Even if something is not on the menu they will do their best to accommodate you. Sam is my favorite server… she never forgets anything and is very attentive! The food is unbelievable! They make the Best Filet Mignon especially if you get the Gorgonzola ballsonic drizzle on it Can’t say enough good things about this place! A+

Something has changed… buffalo wings are from a bag now no longer hand cut battered onsite, burger was a little thinner. Are we trying to increase profit? Be careful. I’m watching. So last chance, had the French Dip bread not toasted, roast beef not cooked through, dry and tough… WTF is going on here!!! Chef apologized through waitress manager on site never made mention of it too us. Thanks with helping our decision to go to Gino’s as our regular! Screw you AJ.

I love the ambience of this place. They have a nice bar and the dining room is set up well. The drinks I found very expensive and the food just ok. I think the menu looked good but they need improvement on the quality of the dish. Not worth saying what I ordered but I would go back and try again before giving up. Not worth the price of a glass of wine though.

Passed by several times and popped in once or twice and there was at least an hour wait. Being unfamiliar with the area I assumed this was a good sign. It was date night for me and the wife so I went ahead and made a reservation. The only seating available for our slotted time was in the«Lounge.» We arrive and get seated at a tiny wobbly table crammed in the corner across from the hostess. About ten minutes later our waitress shows up and places our drink orders. I order myself an old fashioned neat and my wife orders some type of exotic cocktail off the drink specials. We are then both asked to show I.D. My wife did not have hers in position at the time. It was flattering considering we are in our Mid-Thirty’s. The waitress insisted on my wife going to get it and we went back and forth for several minutes. Our drinks arrive and my neat old fashioned is overflowing with melting ice and my wife’s drink was virgin. I switch to domestic beer and the wife goes to soda, off to a great start. After this big letdown our appetizer’s beginning coming out. Our salads are both wilted, even found a couple small chips of ice in mine. Next a big bowl covered by another big bowl is dropped onto our table and the waitress takes off. We are left with no new silverware and this mystery surprise. I get up and fetch us some new silverware from the hostess. We uncover our Muscles with chorizo and dig in. They were decent. Main course arrives! At this point I’m praying for redemption. My New York strip was on the caliber of Applebee’s. The vegetables were subpar. I don’t even remember what my wife ordered at this point because I’m so distraught. Our date night was shot. For the prices and traffic in and out of the place I was absolutely shocked. The food and service was FAR from the price tag. I even contacted the restaurant about my experience and received no reply. Don’t be fooled by this spot.

I had the Philly cheesesteak and it was to die for. My date had the sausage bolognese and it was also amazing. Fast friendly service I will definitely be returning

Came here on new years eve for dinner with reservations. Was glad when we were seated promptly upon arrival. our server was attentive… in the beginning. Ordered the lobster and crab cake which was good. ceasar salad was good although a bit overdressed. it started to go downhill after that. I get it, it’s new years eve so understandably the wait for a food was slightly longer. however, when after a long wait for the entrees and the wrong side was given and an overdone and dried prime rib arrives, it’s a bit frustrating. now you’re put in a position to just eat what you have in front of you or wait longer again to get round 2 of your entrée. no thanks. maybe next time?

Received a GC to this restaurant and was excited to try it. I called for take out tonight. We got the Seafood Fra Diavolo which was absolutely delicious! My daughter ordered the steak. Even though it was ordered and I had to bring it home the steak was delicious and not overdone. We also got Caesar salads which were good too. We will definitely go back and try the service

Anthony Jacks gloriousness is back! I have visited twice in the past quarter and they have lived up to my standards… honestly when I used to eat red meat this used to be my favorite restaurant ever… until they took all my favorite desserts off the menu for no reason(they are still not on there but it no longer matters!!) and fell behind on some of their dishes… but NOW! I have been enjoying their seas scallops cooked to perfection, herbed rice(always a favorite) and yummy buttered green beans. This is my go to dish but their other options are scrumptious as well! I also enjoy their carrot cake and lava cake. The service is always fabulous too and they have awesome drink options! The location also cannot be beat… I am so happy I was able to update my review and give them another star!!!

Well, I had heard good things, but this place was just«ok». We had a dinner reservation, but were still seated in the bar area, which was rather unexpected. The menu had a decent selection, with a variety of steaks and seafood, all cooked on a wood fired grill. There were also some various house specialty dishes with pasta, chicken and other meats and fish. I ordered a blood orange martini, which was good, but not great. I expected it to have more flavor. We all skipped on the appetizers, as nothing sounded super appealing. I ordered a 7 oz filet for my entrée, but again, it was just ok. For a filet, it was rather thin, and not as tender as it should have been. It was certainly not the worst steak I’ve eaten, but it also wasn’t the best. It also didn’t taste like it was cooked on a wood fired grill, but just a regular grill. My parents’ food was also just«ok». I wanted to really like this place, but it was just average. Overall, not bad, but also not the greatest. You can find a better steak elsewhere.

Pretty middling outdated American restaurant near the green. Nice-ish décor gave way to ancient menu that focused on putting sauces and crusts on mid-quality meat and fish. This is the place that your parents and grandparents went out to dinner together with you when you were a little kid. It was as standard as it gets. Tell the waiter your meat, the temperature and what kind of dressing you’d like on your house salad. I was surprised to see that my petite filet came butterflied when I ordered it medium rare. Typically, that is reserved for an extra-thick filet or someone ordering medium well without really trying to hammer the meat. Either that or they gave me an end cut and butterflied it to try to hide it… Overall, I was pretty unimpressed. Classic fare served in a classic style with shortcuts apparent. It was decent enough, but there are so many ways I’d rather spend my money.

Been here several more times(all for lunch) since my original 4 star review. All orders were off the lunch menu which are typically priced around the $ 9.00 — $ 10.00 range. A varity of chicken, beef, and sandwich menu items have been ordered. All very good with generous portions. My wife usually can’t finish her portion. All served at your choice of pleasant indoor or outdoor seating. Service is attentive and prompt. So, in a word… nice. The place is usually very busy at lunch so we are not the only ones that like it. Worth a visit for sure. Southington is lucky to have this restaurant in town. Enjoy!

Came here with my boyfriend the day after Thanksgiving after we realized the restaurant next door(The Fireplace) was closed and I’m so glad we did! It wasn’t too packed here and thus we didn’t have any problems with service even when my boy’s friend and older brother came to join us. Our bartender, Carol, was both friendly and efficient. Not too much here in the way of draft or bottled beers, but I suppose it’s unfair of me to compare AJ’s to beer snob bars in NYC. They did have Smithwick’s, some seasonal lagers, Green Monsta IPA and a couple of other cool brews. Notably I had a Jacko Ale which was a shandy styled beer with real pumpkins brewed into it with cinnamon and nutmeg. It tasted like pie… I’m not crazy about pies(unless they’re chocolate or Oreo!) but this pie beer was pure deliciousness! Their food menu looks pretty interesting and I kind of wish we would have eaten dinner here instead of drunkingly ordering pizza later that night(thankfully it was at least decent pizza…) but I did order their boneless buffalo chicken wings to share with the guys. Happy hour here is from 3 – 7 and features $ 2.50 draft beers, $ 3 house wine, $ 5 cocktails(martinis and regular on the rock drinks alike) and really fantastic $ 5 appetizers — not just off a special HH menu, but all their apps become $ 5 and I don’t think it affects the portion. The boneless buffalo chicken wings were easily some of the most delicious ones I’ve ever had. The chicken was crispy yes very juicy and tender plus their buffalo sauce tasted as if it was made in house and was tart and delicious with enough kick to not make my mouth explode from too much spicy flavor, but with the side of blue cheese(or ranch sauce… to be honest I don’t remember) it was perfection. If I lived near Southington I would probably come here all the time!

I have been coming to Anthony Jack’s for many years. I’ve celebrated birthdays, new jobs, friendships, and even a New Year’s Eve at this restaurant. I’m surprised that everyone doesn’t love this place. The prices are reasonable, service has always been good, and the food is amazing. At first perhaps I thought I loved this place simply because there aren’t too many options like this around the Bristol/Southington area … But I have since moved to DC(where there are tons of delicious restaurants) and I STILL want to visit AJ’s every time I’m back in CT. I mean, wouldn’t you rather support a locally owned small business than go to an AppleBee’s?! I certainly would! My go-to meal: I start off with a dirty martini, Mussels and Chorizo as an app to share, followed by the 7 oz. Filet Mignon cooked Medium. Served with a choice of starch(I usually go mashed potatoes) and the most amazing green beans that will ever pass your lips. Seriously, I could just eat a big plate of green beans. Oh! And for my salad I usually choose Caesar. Also one of my favorite salads ever. I like this place so much I have one of their menus framed and hanging in my kitchen! I highly recommend Anthony Jack’s.
