I didn’t even get to order but nowhere did I find online that they only serve breakfast on Sundays when I wanted to order a sandwhich. Bummer

Outstanding service and food! The service has kind of an at home vibe, staff very friendly. Great unique menu items to try. Tried their breakfast flatbread(minus the bacon and ham/sausage… damn you Bri!) and it was still awesome, great light crunch to the flatbread with great toppings… must go back and try it the right way with the meats on it! The beef tenderloin and spinach eggs benedict was out of this world. Everything was cooked perfectly, definitely all house made and all fresh ingredients, and there was great flavor from each individual one. I would love to go back to try more unique benedicts that they have, and am intrigued to try their lunch and dinner menus also because they are always rotating their menus with new creative dishes. You can tell the chef here knows what they are doing. Left me with a great impression. Will return!

Just waited 40 minutes for one bacon egg and cheese to go. When we questioned the staff we were told, «oh we should have told you. All to go orders take about 30 minutes.» Would have been nice to know before we ordered.

I don’t think I’ve ever waited so long on a coffee, and its subsequent refill, in my entire life.

Ok so this is my third time here and every time I’ve gone the food is great but the service sucks. I just can’t go back because no matter how good their home fries are and no matter how good their homemade English muffins are I just can’t get past the horrible service. They have two waitresses and they are clearly overwhelmed! This last visit we sat down and waited about 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us and offered coffee. It took forever to get someone to give us a refill. When she did come over to run down the specials she talked so fast and then walked away and never said a word. Comes back says ready to order? Yup, all 4 of us will have sausage egg and cheese on a English muffin. Ok. She comes back with our food and we are all eating and saying it tastes weird. We finally figured out it was because the cheese on all of our sandwiches was crumbled blue cheese! Now don’t get me wrong, I like blue cheese but NOT on bfast sandwich!!! Menu did not specify what kind of cheese was on it nor did she ask us what kind we wanted! We assumed it would be American since she didn’t ask. Who puts blue cheese on a bfast sandwich anyway, gross. So that’s, I’m done, not going back due to shitty service. Too bad cause the food was pretty good.

I was dropping off my wife at her Doctor’s office in Southington Monday morning (May 2). So I looked up restaurants reviews on Unilocal on Southington Restaurants serving Breakfasts. I found reviews on Paul Gregory, Most were very good. So I headed for Paul Gregory. There was no problem finding this restaurant and there was free parking behind the restaurants. Everything good said in other reviews I found to be true. Restaurant is small, The only server is part of the family who owns the restaurant. Very friendly as an owner should be. There was only one of the tables occupied. I ordered by usual, egg while cheese omelet with onions and tomatoes. Came with toast and Potatoes, Don’t just order toast, order the English Muffin. The Muffin is LARGE and tasty. In fact I bought a half dozen home. All were eaten within two days. Omelet was large and very tasty. Prices very reasonable. They offer an Italian buffet on Wednesday night for$ 12.95. We plan to try out this buffet soon. Just a wonderful experience. Can’t wait to go back. TRAVELKAL

I love trying out new places to eat, this one has made my top 10 list for sure!!! Starting from the ambiance and continuing thru to the service, I love this place. I had the waffle with fruit because waffle is one of my favorite breakfast foods, and it isn’t always done right. The waffle at Paul Gregory’s was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and had great flavor on its own. The fresh fruit on the side was perfect: pineapple, apple, cantaloupe and honey dew melon — sweet and refreshing. I also had a latte made with almond milk. It was very good, they did have a variety of other flavors but I like to try the basics to get a baseline before I dive into the specialties. My boyfriend had a veggie omelette with home fries and toast. My son had French toast with fresh fruit and bacon. The bread is home made, thick, and delicious! I would go back for that alone. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was that the service was a little slow. There were only 2 waitresses and the place was busy so I don’t fault them for taking long but our original seating and drink order took longer than I would expect from any establishment. That being said, I will definitely be returning to this place soon!

Fantastic for breakfast. They are small, but charming little place. The eggs Benedict are fantastic, but I would say no matter what you get, don’t miss the homemade English muffins. It is BYOB and they have a take out case with good selections if you just want to pick something up on your way home. The custom cupcakes are great to grab on your way out because you will not have room for dessert right away.

«Paul Gregory’s signature flatboy» was excellent as well as the homefries. Great little spot for breakfast.

Had the queen street chicken cutlet with a side of fries. Chicken was a bit on the dry side, but aside from that sandwich was amazing and def get the fries!!!

Yes an excellent breakfast place. Don’t miss the dinner menu. Wednesday night Is pasta night, traditional pasta and meatballs or sausage, lasagna, and nightly specials, bonus is its BYOB — so enjoy your favorite bottle of wine as they supply the glasses & opener. Save room for the delicase filled with wonderful deserts. All at reasonable prices.

Went out for some breakfast and headed in this direction based on some of the reviews I’d read. I must say, Paul Gregory’s is a hidden gem. The Good: We ordered the«Signature Flatboy», which is their take on a breakfast pizza. Scrambled eggs, cheese, onions, peppers, and sausage was set on a buttery, crispy flatbread — and it was delicious! They supposedly make their own english muffins and corned beef hash, but I did not get to try them. Alas. The woman working did an excellent job handling the floor. She was present without being annoying, quick to offer refills, and pleasant without coming off as smarmy or worse, disingenuous. They bill themselves as a bistro, café, market and they do have the feel of a small bistro or café. Excellent baked goods are in the case at the front. Colorful menu boards line the back wall behind the counter, and tables run along the opposite side of the room and into a nook in the back. All in all, it was very comfortable and I loved the eclectic mix of artwork on the walls. The Bad: I’m reaching at straws here, but I can see this place being very difficult to be in when it’s busy. Voices carry and it’s a small place overall. But when we went(Just before 8am on a Saturday) there were not a lot of people. The Ugly: Parking could be an issue since there is a limited amount of on-street parking for all the businesses in area. I saw an access drive adjacent to Paul Gregory’s, but I’m not sure if it is for parking. Overall I really want to go back and try some of their other food. While there is nothing really out of the ordinary on the menu, they seem to focus on a more limited selection of simple, well-prepared fare. I definitely will be back.

Not one compliant that I can think of. It reminds me of a small town cozy dinner that would be town jewel. I think this place will end up on TV eventually(My bold prediction). I believe we had the small stack of french toast and a omelet. The back was like paleo, so it was very natural tasting(porky). I’m going back this morning. By the way, the English muffins are not only good, There HOMEMADE

My wife & I went there for Breakfast this past Sunday; like many other reviews Ive read, we also loved the food. It was truly, top notch, worthy of 5 stars! The corned beef hash, sausage, and English muffins that are made in house, are awesome. I do have to take off stars for the service. We were able to walk right in & get a table, so it was busy but not full to capacity. The service was so slow, not because the 2(& only 2) waitresses that were on duty were slow, they did the best they could with what they had. I blame whoever decided to schedule only 2 wait staff on a Sunday morning. When 1 latte(and there were several while we were there) can disrupt the flow of service the rest of the seated customers recieve, then the staffing/schedule needs to be re-examined. I’ve spent less time at much busier places, even with a 15 – 20 minute wait to be seated.

Ok the english muffins are good, the food quality is slightly better than your standard breakfast place, but the prices can be absolutely ridiculous. I spent $ 50 on breakfast for me and the lady. She got a waffle, I got the special(eggs Benedict), and two coffees. This was also not my first time here and all previous visits were also not worth the extremely high bill. Keep your over priced english muffins! I’ll be at a normal breakfast place spending no more than 15 – 25 dollars for my breakfast for me and the lady. I wish you good luck on your continuing effort to convince the masses that eggs, potatoes, and english muffins are worth their weight in gold.

I went there to grab something quick for lunch to-go after a yoga class nearby today. I was pretty disappointed by the whole experience. First, I walked in around noon ready to order a salad but was told they only do breakfast on Sundays, no lunch. That’s fine. I ordered an egg white omelet with veggies. The cashier asked what kind of cheese I wanted, and what kind of breakfast meat, stating(or at least implying) that they were included — so I told her. Then as I waited I walked to the prepared foods case to check out what they had there only to find they did indeed have salads which is what I said I wanted but not one of the three people who were behind the counter when I placed my order mentioned that they had salads in the prepared foods section. I definitely wanted salad instead, but since my order was already placed I didn’t think there was anything I could do about it. In retrospect I should have cancelled the order. When they rang me out I was charged the $ 1.50 extra for the egg white omelet but when I opened the box of food at my office(at work today) it was not egg white. Also, they charged me $ 1.50 extra for the cheese or meat, when I wished someone would have mentioned that it was additional charge. The spinach in the omelet was definitely from a frozen pack and not even fresh, even though one of the people helping me said«everything here is fresh.» The housemade English muffin didn’t travel well and was chewy. I also bought small salad greens and a small cup of granola. I was not looking to spend almost $ 18 on grab and go breakfast. Just the salad and granola would have been a lot less than that. Also worth noting is they forgot to offer condiments for homefries and forgot to pack plasticware to my to-go order. I’ll definitely give them another chance but I hope it’s better than this time or I won’t be coming back.

Went there this morning for the first time for a Birthday breakfast. The wait for a table was about 15 minutes which was fine. There were only 2 servers for the whole place which was full on a Sunday morning) and the service suffered for it. All 3 plates we ordered were AMAZING!!! but to have to wait nearly 40 minutes for your order is not acceptable. We sat at the counter so when our coffee’s were not refilled I put the cups towards the back of the counter closer so the wait staff could see and they walked by 3X before they noticed and refilled. I would definitely would want to return for the food but hesitate because of the lack of staff. Looking at previous posts this is a trend that I hope is fixed. I would love to be a regular customer because like I said the food was AMAZING!!!

Ahh Paul Gregorys, a place on the verge of greatness. Sadly just out of reach. First if you are going there for Breakfast, be the first through the door, otherwise you are having Brunch because the service is very slow. In the hopes that they will see this review, here is the key to wait staff success: 1. Move your head and your eyes from side to side as you walk 2. If you see something that needs to be done, coffee refill, plate clear, eye contact with a customer, take care of it. 3. If you chose to remain so understaffed then make steps 1&2 the responsibility of everyone, whether they are my waitress/waiter or not. It’s called team work. Heading to the kitchen? look for something to bring back with you, walking past the coffee pot? look for empty cups. The food is excellent, 5 star worthy but if I have to spend hours there for the process to complete, then it’s 3 stars.

Unfortunately this place is severely understaffed and not up to the demands put on it from just a plain delivering food in a timely manner standpoint. I have eaten here a couple times and the food is very good but not worth the hassle when there are several other local restaurants serving just as good breakfast meals. Very unfortunate when a resturant owner cannot comprehend the full understanding of ALL the aspects of owning a resturant!
